Sidha Saraswathi Stotram

(This prayer has been taken from  a book called  Devi stotra  Rathnakara , published by

Gita press , Gorakhpur)

1.Dhorbhir yuktha Chathurbhi sphatika mani mayeem , akshamaalaam dhadhaanaa,
Hasthenaikena padmam sithamapi cha sukam pusthakam chaparena,
Bhasaa kundhendhu sankha sphatika mani nibhaa bhasamaanaa samaanaa,
Saa may vaghdevatheyam nivasathu vadane sarvadhaa suprasanna.

1,Let that goddess of words, Who has four hands,

Who holds the garland of crystal beads in one hand,

Who holds parrot, white lotus and book in other hands,

And who is as lustrous as kunda flowers, moon, conch and crystal beads,

Live  with joy  always in my face and bless me. 

2.AAroodaa swetha  hamse   bramathi cha gagane, dakshine cha  aksha suthram,

Vame  hasthe   cha   divyambara kanaka  mayam pusthakam  Jnana  Gamya,

SAa Veenaam vadhayanthi   swakaraka   japai sastra  vijnana  SAbdhai ,

Kereedanthi   Divya roopaa   kara kamala dharaa bharathi   suprasanna.

2.She travels   on the sky   riding  on a white  swan,

With beaded chain  in  right hand ,

And  shines in divine golden  silk cloth  on the left hands,

As well   holding   the book   and goes  towards wisdom.

She also plays veena and  using the  beads   also  chants  sacientific manthras,

And she playa  in a divine form  holding   a lotus flower in her hand,

And let   that  Goddess  Saraswathi be pleased with me.

3,SWetha padmasanaa  Devi SWetha  Gandhanulepana,

Archithaa  moorthibhiu sarva rishibhi sthooyathe sadaa

3.She sits   on a white lotus flower   applies  white sandal paste,

And  her form is  worshipped by  all sages    always.

Evam sthuthwaa  sadaa devim , Vanchitham labathe   nara

Those   who pray the goddess like this  would get all their desires fulfilled.

Om  Asya Sidha  Saraswargi   stotra manthrasya , Markandeya Rishi  strhradharaa Anushtup Chanda mama vag vilasa samsidshyartham  Paade viniyoga

For this prayer to Sidha  SAraswathi  prayer the sage is Markandeya, the meter is Anushtup  and praying this for  being blessed with a  master of conversational silk.

1.Shuklaam brahma  vichara rara pramaam aadhyaam  jagad vyapinim,

Veena pusthaka  dharineem abhyadhaam jaadyaandhakaraapahaam.

Hasthe   spahatika maalikeaam   vidhadarthim  padmasane   samsthithaam,

Vandhe thaam   Parameswarim   bhagawathim   budhipradhaam   shaaradhaam.

1.I salute   the greatest Goddess  who is Goddess  Saraswathi   who grants  intelligence,

Who is white , who is the greatest philosophy of Lord Brahma, who is the first, who spreads  all over the  world,

Who holds in her hand  a book and Veena, who grants protection  to her devotees, Who removes the   darkness of ignorance,

Who holts the garland of crystal beads and who  sits   in the   lotus pose.

2..Ya kundendu thushara hara davalaa, Ya shubhra vasthravruthaa,
Yaa veena vara danda manditha karaa,  Ya swetha padmasana,
Ya brahmachyutha Sankara prabruthibhir , Devai sadaa vandhithaa,
Saa maam pathu sarswathi, bhagawthi, Nissesha jadyapaha.

2,She is the one who wears the garland dazzling white jasmine flower,
She is the one who always decorates with very clean cloths,
She is the one who has in her hand a  Veena which she plays,
She is one who sits in the throne of white lotus,
She is one who is saluted by Gods such as ,Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva ,
And let that Goddess Saraswathi who removes ignorance , look after me.

3.Hreem  hreem  hrudyouka bheeje  , sasi ruche kamala  kalpa vispota shobhe,

Bavye   bavyaanukoole  kumathi  vacha dhave   viswa vandhyangri padme ,

Padme padmopavishte   pranatha   jana mano moda sampadhayithri ,

Prothphulla jnana koote  harir nija dayithe samasaaasare

3.Oh Goddess whose  root chant is Hreem, hreem,  , who resembles the moon, Who has a luster  of opening lotus flowers,

Who has  soft behavior, who helps us  with humility, who takes the   form of fire   to destroy people with evil mind, Whose lotus like feet is worshipped by entire world  ,

Who is lotus flower , who sits on lotus , who fulfills desires of the mind of those   who salute   you ,

Who is pak  of all collected knowledge , who   is one who grants power to Lord Hari   and  Who is  the shelter from problems of SAmsara.

4.Iym  iym  iym  drushta manthre kamala bhava mukhamboja bhutha swaroope,

Roopaa roopa prakase  sakala  guna maye nirgune nirvikare,

Na sthoole naiva  sookshmepyovidhitha vibhave  naabhi vijnana   thathwe,

Viswe viswantharathme  sura vara  namithe   nishkale   nithya   shudhe  .

She who can be  seen by chanting Iym, Iym, Iym,  who has the form that emerged from face  of Lord Brahma,

She who shines  in a form as well as without form , who has all good qualities, who does not have   any properties, who does not have any emotions,

She who is not very big nor very small, she who has limitless  prosperity , Who has form  filled with science  .

Who fills   the universe, who is the soul of the   universe, who is saluted by  great devas , who does not have any shortcomings and who is forever  pure.

5.Hreem, hreem , hreem jaapyathushte hima ruche makte   challagi vyagra   hasthe,

Matharmatha  Namasthe daha daha jadathaam  dehi budhim   prasasthaam,

Vidhye   vedantha vedhye parinatha  patithe mokshadhe  mukthi marge  ,

Margaatheetha   Swaroope   bhava  mama  varadhaa  sharadhe  Subrahaare

5. Oh Goddess   who becomes  happy on chanting  “Hreem, hreem, hreem.” , who shines in the crown of ice, Whose hand is busy playing Veena,

Oh mother of mother  , I salute you, please burn my idiocy  fully and grand me a very famous   brain,

Oh Knowledge    who is saluted  by Vedantha . who leads those   fallen people    towards  salvation,

Oh Goddess whose form  is greater than the way to it, Ofh Goddess  Sharadha who shines in white garland, please  lead me to salvation.

6.Dheem, dheem , dheem dharanaakhye  druthi mathi nathirnaamabhir namabhi   keerthaneeye,

Nithye anithye nimithe muni ganaan archithe noothane vai puraane ,

Punye , punya pravaahe hari hara  namithe nithya shuddhe, suvarne,

Mathar mathrardha  thathve, mathi mathimasidhe madhava preethi modhe.

6.Oh goddess who can l known by chant of Dheem, dheem,. Dheem , who is being called   as  courage, intelligence   and devotion,

Who has form which is stable as well as unstable, who is the cause  , who is worshipped by a   group of sages who is old as well as new,

Who is  the blessed one, who is the flow of blessed deeds, who is saluted   by Lord Vishnu and Shiva   , who is forever pure , who is golden in colour  ,

Who is represented by  the philosophy of half sound  , who grants superior intellect   and who makes those who love Krishna   as happy.

7.Hroom. hroom  hroom  swaswaroopa  daha daha   duritham,  Pusthaka vyagra   hasthe,

Santhushta kara  chithe   smitha mukhi   , subhaghe   jrumbini sthambha   vidhye  ,

Mohe mughdha pravahe   kuru  mama  vimathi dwantha vidhwa sameede,

Gangarvag bharathi thwam   kavi vara rasanaa  sidhidhe sidha sadhye  .

Oh Goddess  whose soul form is hroom, hroom, hroom , burn away all  my sufferings , Oh Goddess  busy in reading a book,

You have a mind which makes others  happy, you have a smiling face, you are good to look at , you know   the science  of freezing,

You attract  by your waves of  innocence , please destroy the darkness    of ignorance   of this  evil minded one,

You are the bharathi whose words   flow like ganges, You are making us capable of enjoying great poems  and you  are one capable of giving power to do.

8.Sthoumi thwaam thwaam cha vandhe   mama khalu   rasanaam  no kadachithya jedha,

Ma mey   budhir virudha   bhavathu   na cha mano   devi may   ghathu paapam,

Ma may dukham kadachith   kwachidhapi  vishaye apyasthu   may naakoola thwam,

Sasthram   vaadhe   kavithwe   prasarathu mama dheemaam asthu   kuntaa kadhaapi.

8.I sing your prayers   ,  I salute you , Please  never neglect  my beseechments,

Oh mother   may be my mind  never be against Dharma and let me never  engage in doing sins,

Oh Mother   let there never be sorrow to me at any time and at any place , Please side with me,

Let my brain keep on expanding by reading Sastras , arguments   and poems and let there be no shortfall  in it.

9.Ithyethai   sloka mukhyai   prathi dhinamushasi  sthouthi vo bhakthi namro,

Vaani   vachaspather apya    viditha   vibhavi vak patur  muktha kanta,

SA  syadhishta artha laabhai   suthamiva  sathatham  paathi tham  saa cha  devi,

Soubhagyam   thasya  loke   prabhavayji kavithaa  vignamastham prayaathi.

9.If one prays  at dawn  with a head  bent by devotion  using these  important verses,

He would became  more conversant with knowledge   and have  command over words   than Brahaspathi, the guru of devas.

And he would for the sake of getting  wealth  be always  protecting  the goddess  like her son,

And  luck   rises up in his world   and the problems for writing  poetic books comes to an end for him.

10,Nirvignam thasya vidhyaa prabhavathi  sathatham  chaasrutha  grandha  bodha,

Keerthi  trilokya  madhye nivasathi   vadane SArada   thasya  Saakshaath,

Deergayur loka poojya  sakala   guna nidhi santhatham raja  maanyo,

Vaagdevyaa  samprasaadath  trijagathi  vijayi jaayathr sathsabhaasu.

10,Without   any problems  his  knowledge   keeps on  always  increasing, by his coming tto know of   books that  he had not known,

His fame would live  in all the  three worlds and the Goddess SAraswathi himself   would  live in his face,

He would live long   respected by the world, would be treasure of all good qualities and he   would be always   honoured by the   kings,

And by the blessings  of the Goddess of speech, he would win over   all the three  worlds in the  learned societies.

11.Brahmachari sthrathi  moumi   thrayodasyaam niramisha ,

Saaraswatho   jana paatath sakrudishtaa artha laabhavaan .

11.If a devotee of Saraswathi   observing  celibacy   ,and silence  and  taking vegetarian  food

Chants this  once  on THryodasi,he would  v blessed with prosperity and all his wishes would be fulfilled.

12.Paksha dwaye thryodasyaa  yekaa vimsathi   sankhyaya  ,

Avichanna  padeth dheemaan   dhyaathwaa   devim saraswathim,

13.Sarva papa  nirmukthaa   subhago   loka visrutha ,

Vaanchitham  phalaapnoth loko asmin naathra   samsaya.

12-13 If  a great one   after  meditating on Goddess  SAraswathi   reads twenty times,

This prayer on the  thrayodasi   day  of  both the  phases   of the moon   without break,

He would get rid  of all his sins ,  and become  well known all over the world,

And realize desired objectives and there   is no doubt in this at all.

14.Brahmanethi swayam   proktham   saraswathyaa  sthavam shubham,

Prayathnena   paden nithyam   so amruthathwaya  kalpathe  .

14 If this divine prayer addressed to Sarawathi which was told bt Lord Brahma himself,

Should   be daily read  with effort  and those who do it  would attain deathlessness.

Ithi  Srimad Brahmanaa   virachitham  srimad Saraswathi stotram    sampoornam

Thus ends the  prayer on SAraswathi     which   was  composed by God Brahma.
