Happy pongal 2017

Greetings for a  happy pongal to all my brothers  and sisters,

Who  unfortunately  were  not born with me

This is the  divine festival day of Tamils,

This is the divine day   that makes  prosperous ,

The life Of  all  those  who speak Tamil,

This is  the divine day that enthuses ,

The toiling   Farmers  who cultivate,

By removing   their tiresomeness,

And drowns them  all in great joy.

This is remarkable   festival day,

Which wakes  up   early in the dawn,

The ladies who sleep  deeply,

And make them draw  Kolam(Rangoli)

The is the valorous   divine festival,

When  the ferocious   bulls are tamed.

This    is the modern festival day ,

Which unpacks   old   thoughts,

And fills  your mind with  modern thoughts.

My  great greetings  of the Enthusiastic pongal,

To all those  Tamils who unfortunately  are not born with me.

கூடல்

தமிழர் திருநாள் இது
தமிழர்களின் வாழ்வை
வளமாக்கும் திருநாள்...

உழைக்கும் உழவர்களின்
களைப்பை போக்கி
களிப்பில் ஆழ்த்தும்
உற்சாகப்படுத்தும் திருநாள்...

உறங்கும் பெண்களை
அதிகாலையிலே எழுந்து
கோலம் போடவைக்கும்
கோலாகலமான திருநாள்...

மிரட்டி வரும் காளைகளை
விரட்டி அடக்கும் வீர திருநாள்...

பழைய எண்ணங்களை அவிழ்த்து
புதிய சிந்தனைகளை புகுத்தும்
புதுமையான திருநாள்...

என் உடன்பிறவா தமிழ் மக்கள்
அனைவருக்கும் என்
உற்சாகமான பொங்கல்
நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள்...
