( Aandal  other wise known as Godha  was the daughter of Periyazhvar also called   as Vishnu Chithar . Right from Child hood she dremt of marrying  Lord Ranganatha . At the end she merged with him, Here is a very pretty prayer describing her   wedding day,.This is from the post of Neeraja Neeraja in face book.Acjnowledgements to her, The original Tamil text is given below the translation)

It  was the wedding day  of Aandal,

In Sri Villputhur   the    sun rose up  from the horizon,

All the    friends of  Godha   who had spent a sleepless  night,

Started  chanting loudly , “Let   auspiciousness  increase”,

And sprinkled water  on the path of the  wedding procession,

Drew very pretty Rangolis   .

Then   the people decorated  doors of all their  homes in the path

With mango leaves and  other decorations,

Which were created by  Banana and arecanut sheaths ,

Flower   canopy  made of the  just opened flowers,

And erected a dazzling   stage made  of   precious  new  gems ,

The decorations were  dazzling  due  to string of pearls,

TAmple lamp ,. Hanging lamps   and  Dhiya lamps

Surrounded by Akil smoke ands smoke from incense,

The scent of Kunkilyam  , musk  and Jawwathu smokes.

Music from drums small and big and metal  hammers,

The marching of  elephant and horses with stirrups,

Specially decorated   women and  men,

The loud calling  “Oh Ranga, Oh Ramga”

The great sound calling  “Oh king of cow herdesses”

The crowd of cows enjoying the springing of calves by sounding “Maa”,

Nammazhvar with  tear filled eyes and a very heavy jeart,

The Thukllasi plant which nods their head in the wind with anxiety to see,

With  crores of eyes waiting to see   that auspicious  event,

Of the marriage iof Ranga Mannar with Godhai”

ஆண்டாள் திருக் கல்யாணத்தன்று எப்படியிருந்திருக்கும்...!
ஆண்டாள் திருக் கல்யாணம் !
பொழுது விடிந்தது ஸ்ரீவில்லிப் புத்தூரில்...
உறங்காது காத்த கோதைக் குழாமெலாம்
மங்கலம் பெருகுக என்றே வாழ்த்தொலிப்ப
அலங்கார ஊர்வலத் தடத்தின் முன் வழியும்
நீர் தெளித்து வண்ணக் கோலமிட்ட வாசல்களும்
தோரணமும் மாவிலைக் கொத்தும்
வாழை கமுகு பாளைப் பல்வகையும்
அன்றலர் பல நிறப் பூம்பந்தலும்
ஜொலிக்கும் நவமணி மாடமும்
முத்துச் சரத்தால் மின்னு மலங்காரமும்
குத்து விளக்கும் தொங்கு சரமும் அகல் சுடர்களும்
சூழும் அகில்,பூந்துகள், சந்தனம்,சாம்பிராணிப் புகையும்
குங்கிலியம் புனுகு ஜவ்வாது நறுமணமும்
மேளம் பறை கொம்பு எக்காளம் இன்னிசையும்
யானை குதிரை அம்பாரி அணிவகுப்பும்
அலங்காரம் சிறந்த அழகிய மாதரும் ஆடவரும்
ரங்கா ரங்கா என்று மங்கலப் பேரழைப்பும்
ஆய்ச்சியர் கோவே என்று விளித்த நல்லரவமும்
கன்றின் துள்ளலை மாவென்று ரசிக்கும் கோ குழாமும்
நெஞ்சு கனத்து கண்ணீர்க் குளம்கட்டிய நம்மாழ்வாரும்
காற்றில் தலையசைத்து எட்டிக் காணத் துடிக்கும் துளசியும்
காணக் கோடிக் கண் காத்திருக்கே சுப நிகழ்வாய்,
