Srimad Rama Padaravindha Madhupa, Sri madhva vamsadhipa,
Sat sishya udu gana udupha sritha jagath geervana  sath padhapa,
Athyartham  manasa   krutha  achyutha  japa papa andhakara aadhapa,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       1

Oh holy bee    of the  lotus   feet of Rama, Oh ruler  of the lineage of Saint Madhva,
Oh moon surrounded  by stars of great disciples, oh wish giving tree   of the devotees of the world,
Oh sun  who removes darkness of sin by   chanting of name  of Achyutha with  focused  mind,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Karmandhi indra sudeendra  sadguru karombhojodhbhava
 Santhatham praajya dhyana  vaseekrutha akhila   jagath vasthavya Lakshmi dhava,
SAth  sasthraadhi  vidhushaka akhils mrishaa vadhi ibha  kandeerava,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       2

Oh saint who was born from the lotus hands   of great Guru  Sudeendra who was king among saints,
Who by   constant  meditation   attracted  goddess Lakshmi   to the entire   universe,
Who is an expert  in great SAsthras and who  tamed  all wild elephant like , arguers of Maya  like  a lion,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

SAalankaaraka kaavya   nataka  kalaa  ganadha patanjala.
Traya artha  smrithi  Jaimineeya  kavitha   sangeetha  Parangatha,
Vipra kshathra vidangri jatha mukaraa  aneka prajaa   sevithaa,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       3

Oh expert in Patanjali Suthras along with  figures of speech  , epics , dramas   and  all type of arts
Oh one who has mastered  the three Vedas  , Puranas , poorva meemamsa, poetry    and music,
Who is served by  Brahmins, Kshatiyas  , Vysyas   , Shudras   and   all others,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Ranga uthunga tharanga mangala kara sri Thunga badhraa thathta-,
Prathyastha   dvija pungava, aalaya  vasan manthralayaakhye pure,
Navya indropala  neela bhavya aakara sath vrundavanthar  gatha,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       4

Oh great Brahmin    who lives in the   city of Manthralaya   situated ,
On the  banks of Thunga Badhra  river  which has auspicious  colourful waves,
Inside   the   auspicious  Brindavana decorated   with majestic  blue  topaz   stones,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Vidhvathraja   shiraa  kireeta kachithaa anarghya   rathna  prabhaa,
Ragaa  ghokaha  paduka dwaya   chara  padmaa akshmalaa  dhara,
Bhaswath danda kamadalu  ujwalakaro rakthambaradambara
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       5

Oh saint  who moves  about using    pair of sandals   which shine   due to the      jeweled,
Crown of scholars   and kings  who salute them    and which are   capable  of destroying  their sins
Who  wears   a garland   of  lotus seed beads  , who carries  shining  staff and water pot   and wears  shining red cloths,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Yath Brindavana  sa pradakshina namaskaraa abhisheka    sthuthi,
Dhyana aaraadhanaa  mrud vilepana, mukhaneka   upachaaraan sadaa,
Kaaran kaara  mabhipraayanthi  c hathuro  lokhaapuma  arthaan   sadaa,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       6

By always   going round, saluting  , annointing  , praying ,Meditating ,
Worshipping, applying the mud  and  other services  to that Brindavana,
Repeatedly  again and again, the  clever ones   get all the four purusharthaas,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Veda vyasa  muneesha    madhva    tathirat  tikarya   vaakhyamrutham,
Jnaathwaa  advaitha matham halahala samam   thyakthwaa samaakyapthaye,
SAnkhyaavath   sukhadhaam   dasopanishadhaam  vyaakyaam   samaakhyaan mudhaa,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       7

After knowing the  nectar like words  of the great sage  Veda Vyasa , king of sages Madhvaa 
And Teekacharya he rejected   the   opinion of Advaitha Vedantha     as great poison,
And with joy    wrote  excellent  commentaries on the   ten upanishadhs  for the pleasure of  wise people,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Srimad Vaishnava loka  jalaka guru   srimad  parivrat bharu,
Sasthre   DEva guru    sritha  amaratharu    prathyuha  gothra   svaru,
Chetho   atheethashiru  thathaa  jithavaruh   sath sukhaaya sampath kau,
Srimad   Guru raghavendra yathi raat , kuryaadh   druvam mangalam       8

Oh Guru of the   window of the world of Vaishnavas , oh ruler of good   ascetics,
Oh  Brihaspahi of the   SAsthras   who is the wish giving tree to his devotees  .
Who impede s   the mountains like thunderbolt  , who is beyond our capabilities and  intelligence,
Oh  king of sages  Guru Raghavendra  , Please   grant us permanent   auspiciousness.

Yath sandhyath anisam   Guror   vrathipathe   san mangalasyaashtakam,
Sadhya papa  haram   swa sevi vidhushaam   bhakthyaiva   baabaashitham,
Bhakthyaa   vakthi   susampadaam   shubha padam   deerga aroghyakam,
Keerthim   puthra kalathra bandhava  suhrud  moorthi  prayaathi druvam.   9

These eight verses of auspiciousness   on the Guru if read daily   during dawn and dusk,
Immediately   destroys sins and if chanted with devotion  by   those   wise men who serve him,
They would  definitely get   great wealth   , auspicious positions  ,  long enduring   health,
Fame  , sons , wife   , relations  and well disposed   friends

IThi  srimad   appanacharya krutham  Raghavendra  mangalashtakam sampoornam.
Srimad   Krishnarpana mathu.
Thus ends  the octet  of auspiciousness     addressed    to Raghavendra   composed  by  Appanacharya
