The antidote slokas  from Bhagwatha for different houses  in horoscope

Vyasacharya’s Bhagawatha  has 12 Skandas  and our horoscopes have   12 houses.Astrology   tells what problems  the houses   of the  horoscope indicate  .The great  scholar Sri    Aravind Sivaraman , after   reading and rereading BHagawatha  has located  the slokas in Bhagawatha  which would solve the problems created by the different houses  and   his findings have been published as a tamil book by Giri Traders  called  as  “Srimad Bhagawatham koorum  12   Rasikalukkana  pariharangal “ ie” the antidotes to the 12 Rasis as told  by Srimad Bhagawatha”

To make these  findings   reach a large number of people , I have chosen the 12 slokas  , typed  and also translated them. I have myself   written  about what  are the effects of different Rasis and I have given  as to the context of the slokas. I have not translated  the book by Sri aravind Raman , I humbly  request him to do so.My grateful thanks to  Sri aravind Raman   and Giri traders  who have published the  book,.To all those who know Tamil , I have a request , please buy the Tamil treasure which will help you  a lot in solving your problems.

 In Astrology  the Lagna  is always House  number one   and  consecutive houses are determined by counting the 12 houses in  clock wise direction (My  interpretation of houses  is based on  the astrology   which is popular  in Kerala)

House  number 1  -Lagna-Skanda  number 1

  This house   determines  your health and your character .This sloka   can be chanted  when we have  health problems.

( In dasakam 1   , after lord Krishna departs to heaven , the kali age starts  .Due to his playfulness  King Parikshith  is cursed by a sage to die  in 7 days and he observes penance    and waits for  his death. At this time Sage Shuka   starts telling him the    story of  the  Bhagawatha)

1,Prayopa vishtam gangaayaam,

Pareetham  parama rishibhi,

Krishne  swadhamopa gathe,

Dharma jnanadhibhi  saha    Skandam 1  chapter  3  sloka 43

After   the going away  of Lord Krishna to his place

Surrounded  by very many divine sages,

Parikshith  was waiting    to give away  his life in Ganges,

Along with  Dharma  and wisdom .

House number 2  -Skanda no 2

House   number 2  determines   wealth , food   travel , family etc. This sloka is to be chanted   when we  have problem  to our wealth    as well as family.

( In  Skanda  2  Sage Shukha   urges  king Parikshith  not to be scared of death  or get worried as  to what   will happen to his family after  his death..This is a prayer addressed to sage Vyasa)

2.Namasthasmai  BHagawathe,

Vasudevaaya  Vedhase  ,

Papur jnana  mayam saumya,

Yan mukhamburu hasavam.   Skandam 2  chapter 4   Sloka24

I salute    the God like Vyasa,

Who is Vasudeva   who is the soul of Vedas,

From whose lotus  like  lips    the devotees  ,

The devotees   drink this nectar  of wisdom.

House  number 3  -Skanda  3

   This house   deals with our chest , right leg  , courage/fear  , brother   and servant  .This could be chanted when you have  problems to any of those.

(Skanda 3  ,This Skanda   deals in detail  the pilgrimage  undertaken by Vidhura and the many things he learnt   from these  places)

3.Priya vrutho uthanapadhou,

Thisra kanyaascha  Bharatha,

AAkoothir deva  hoothischa,

Prasoothirithi   sathama     Skandam 3   chapter 12      sloka 55

Oh most  pious   Vidhura, they are,

Priyavrutha  , Uthanapadha ,

And the   three   daughters  ,

Akuthi, devahuthi and Prasuthi.

House number 4 Skanda   4

   This house  determines , the home we live in , maternal uncle, relations, friends, water   etc. Chant this when you are  purchasing , building and occupying your own home and to help   relations

(Thios Skanda  in detail tells about   the story  of Daksha, the penance  of Dhruva and development  of his clan)

4.Narada uvacha:-

Jananyabhihitha panthaa,

Sa vai nisreya sasya  they,

Bhagawan Vasudevastham ,

Bhaja thath  pravanaathmanaa      Skandam 4   chapter 8  sloka 40

The   way that  has been indicated by your mother,

Is the one that is  leading to highest good,

As indicated by the  great  Vasudeva   himself,

And so   worship him  with a mind  fully dedicated to him.

House   5 Skanda   5

     This is the  house that determine   children and their welfare.It also determines belly , learning  of Vedas etc. If you do not have a child or  you want to pray  welfare  of your child, you   can chant this

(Skanda 5 deals with the world and its divisions  and also has   the story  and teachings  of sage  Jada  Bharartha)

5.Aham puraa Bharatho nama Rajaa,

Vimuktha drushta srutha sanga bandha,

Aaraadhanam Bhagawatha eehamano,

Mrugo abhavam mrugasangaadh daraarthaa      Dasakam  5  chapter  12     sloka 14

I was in my  earlier birth  a king named  Bharatha,

Who got detached  from all  groups of attachments,

And tried   to  worship   God  in a manner,

But was born like this   due to my attachment to a deer.

House  number 6  Skanda  number 6

This house deals with sickness  , enemies, sin , fear  and insult  .You can chant  this sloka   to get rid of all these  problems.

(Skandam 6 .This    skanda   deals with the story  of Ajamila  , who   went to heaven  because  at the time of death, he called Narayana , the name of his son.There   are also stories  of the  further  human kings  )

6.Thaisthaanya ghaani poojanthe,

Thapo dhana  Japaadhipi,

Naadharmajam thadh druthaye  ,

Thadhapee  saangri   sevayaa  .  Dasakam 6  chapter 2   sloka 17

Though  a person does  propitiation  of his sins,

By doing worship, penance  , charity and chanting,

There  is a small  vestige  of the sin left in  him,

Which can be removed only by service of God’s feet

House  no .7 SKandam  number 7

This house deals with marriage, courage, financial dealings  , husband and wife .This sloka may  be chanted to get married and for improvement  of business

(Most part of this Skanda  deals with story  of Hiranya  Kasipu, Prahladha   and incarnation   of Lord Narasmha) 

7.Prahaladha  uvacha :-

Sravanam, keerthanam  vishno,

Smaranam, Padha   sevanam,

Archanam  vandhanam , dhasyam,

Sakhya mathma  nivedanam      Dasakam 7    chapter  5   Sloka  23

Prahladha said:-

 Hearing  about Lord Vishnu  , Singing about him,

Remembering about him  , serving   his feet,

Worshipping him  , saluting him  ,  serving him,

Thinking him as a friend And  dedicating one’s soul   to him

House  no.8 Skanda   8

   This house deals with widowhood , mental diseases, Regular income , life span   etc. Men may chant this for increasing life span and women  to avaoid widowhood

(Skanda  8 deals with story  of Gajendra   and several   incarnations  of Lord Vishnu  and further   stories  of kings and dynasties)

8.Namo namasthe akhila  karanaaya,

Nish karanaaya, adbutha  karanaaya,

Sarvaagamaamnaaya  maharnavaaya,

Namo  apavargaaya  parayanaaya.        Skandam 8   chapter 3   sloka 15

SAlutaions  and salutations  , to the cause of all,

Who is not a cause  , who is a wonderful cause

Who is  great ocean of   all sruthis  and Smrithis,

Salutation  to him who is the heaven and  great refuge  .

House no.9 Skanda 9

House number 9 determines  profession, belief in religion  grand children  etc..If there is a problem in profession this sloka    can be chanted

(Skanda 9  deals with  the history of solar   and Lunar dynasties in detail,It ends with story of King Vasudeva   and Devaki)

9. Thadho manu sradha  deva,

Samjnayaamaasa   Bharatha,

Sradhaayaam  janayaamaasa,

Dasa  puthraan  sa  aathmavaan    Skandam 9   chapter 1  sloka 11

Oh Bharatha  ,  Sradha   deva   was born to

Viswaaan   from his wife   Samjnaa,

And to him who had   a great mind

Was born Ten sons  who were intelligent.

House  no 10.Skanda   10

   House number 10 determines  business, success , good fame, travel etc

(This Skanda   deals in detail   with story  of Lord Krishna, his plays , sports , history etc)

10.Thasyavanijya charanou thadapa swamoorthaa,

Bibrad jagath guru tharopi sathaam patheerhi,

Brahmanya deva ithi yadh guna  naama yuktham,

Thasyaiva yas charana soucha maseshatheertham.  Skandam 10  chapter  69  sloka 15

Lord Vishnu  washed   the  feet of Sage  Narada   and sprinkled it on himself,

Though  he himself is the teacher of the world and  always  the protector,

And though the  name   god  of Brahmanya   was   appropriate  to him,

And though    the  river Ganga originating from his feet is the  great sacred water.

House no 11  , Skandam 11

House no 11 deals with income capability  , elder sister  etc.

(skandam 11  deals with Lord Krishna’s death and his teachings to Udhava   called  Udhava  gita)

11.Jnanam viveko nigama  sthapascha,

Prathyakshamaithi hyam   adhanumaanam,

Aadhyantha yorasya yadheva  kevalam,

Kaalascha  hethuscha thadheva  madhye. Skandam 11 chapter 28   sloka 18

Wisdom  , right judgment,  the Vedas  and penance,

Constitute   the means  of  attaining   knowledge,

And that knowledge  which was earlier  and which is going to be,

After the deluge is the cause  of that and  is the real truth.

House no 12  .Skandam 12

       This deals with pleasure , death, sorrow, sleep  poverty etc

Skandam 12   is the last section of Bhagawatha deals about what will happen in future   after lord Krishna;s death, the   coming of Kali age and story of king  Janamejaya)

12,Nama  sankeerthanam yasya,

Sarva papa  Pranaasanam,

Pranamo dukha,

Cha manastham  namami  harim param   Skandam 12   chapter  13  sloka 23

The singing  of Hari’s name  ,

Completely   destroys   all sins,

Drives away   all  sorrows,

And so  I am humbly saluting Hari
