Annapurna stotram by Lord Shiva

 

श्रीब्रह्मभैरव उवाच –

Sri Brahma  Bhairava Uvacha:-

Sri  Brahma   Bhairava   asked:-

धनानि च सर्वाणि श्रुतानि तव सुव्रत ।
इदानीं वद देवेश स्तोत्राणि कवचानि च ॥ १॥

Dhanaani  cha  Sarvaani   sruthaani  thava  Suvrutha.

Idhaaneem  vadha  devesa Stotraani   Kavachaani cha 

All the wealth  and all that  we hear are yours Oh lord,

Among them tell  me  oh  god of devas ,prayers and armours

श्रीशिव उवाच –

Sri Shiva  Uvacha:-

Lord Shiva  said:-

कथयामि तव स्नेहात् स्तोत्राणि कवचानि च ।
अन्नपूर्णाप्रीतिदानि सावधानोऽवधारय ॥ २॥

Kadhayami  thava  snehaath stotraani  kavachani cha,

Annapoornaa preethidhaani   savadhano avadharaya

Due to love towards   you I am telling  prayers and Kavachas.

Which are dear   to Annapurna, Please hear it carefully

ह्रींकारं प्रथमं नमो भगवति स्वाहावसानां ध्रुवं
मन्त्रं सप्तदशाक्षरं जपति ते माहेश्वरि प्रोक्षितम् ।
ध्यायेऽम्बे तरुणारुणं तव वपुर्नित्यान्नपूर्णे शिवे
गेहे तस्य विराजते सरभसं दिव्यान्नराशिर्ध्रुवम् ॥ ३॥

Hreemkaram  pradhamam namo Bhagawathi  swavaha  vasaanam    dhruvam

Manthram   saptha dasaksharam  japathi they  maaheswari  prokshitham,

Dhyaye Ambe   tharunarunam  thava vapor nithya   annapurne    shive  ,

Gehe thasya viraajathe sarabhasamdivyanna rasir   dhruvam   3

After  chanting hreem first, salute   the  goddess who is  dressed in swaha  in a stable manner,

Then the    manthra of  17  letters which has to be chanted    to please   the great  goddess,

And meditate on her  with the  red coloured body  of a lass who is Annapurna  the wife of lord shiva,

Whose house shines   along  with huge  quantity  of   divine rice  quantity   always

ह्रींकारमुर्तिं कमनीयवक्त्रां चन्द्राङ्करेखान्वितभालभागाम् ।
ईशान्कान्तां प्रणमामि नित्यां लक्ष्मीविलासास्पदपादपीठाम् ॥ ४॥

Hreemkara  moorthim   , kamaneeya vakthraam  chandrankha rekhanvitha phala  baagaam,

eEsaankaanthaam   pranamami   nithyaam   Lakshmi vilaasaasphadha  padha  peedaam.   4

Having the form of letter hreem, having pretty  neck, having forehead mounted  with moon,

Is the wife  of lord Shiva, daily  I salute her  foot stool  which is charming abode  of lakshmi

नमोऽस्तु तुभ्यं गिरिराजकन्ये नमोऽस्तु कामान्तकवल्लभायै ।
नमोऽस्तु पङ्के रुहलोचनायै नमः शिवायै शशिभूषणायै ॥ ५॥

Namosthu thubhyam   giri raja  kanye namosthu kamanthaka  vallabhayai,

Namosthu   pankhe rooha  lochanaayai  nama shivayai  sasi bhooshanaayai

I salute   the daughter  of king of mountains who  is wife of Lord   who destroyed Manmatha,

I  salute  the lotus eyed   goddess, I  salute  wife of Shiva   who wears  moon as  decoration

वामे करेऽमृतमयं कलशञ्च दक्षे
स्वर्णाङ्कितां ननु पल्लान्नमयीञ्च दर्वीम् ।
चित्रां सुवर्णवसनां गिरिशस्य कान्तां
सत्पद्मपत्रनयनां मनसाहमीडे ॥ ६॥

Vame  kare  amruthamayam   kalasancha   dakshe,

Swanankhithaam nanupallanamyincha   dharveem,

Chithraam  suvarna vasanaam  girresasya  kaanthaam,

Sad padma  pathra  nayanaam    manasaaha  meede     6

Holding   the pot  of nectar  cleverly  in her  left hand,

With ladle    made of gold kindly  filled  with rice from granary,

Dressed  in pretty golden  dress is the wife of  god of the mountain,

Who has eyes  like a  pretty lotus leaf, And I  l praise  her  with my full heart

वामे माणिक्यपात्रं मधुरसभरितं बिभ्रतीं पाणिपद्मे
दिव्यैरत्नैः प्रपूर्णां मणिमयवलये दक्षिणे रत्नदर्वीम् ।
रक्ताङ्गी पीनतुङ्गस्तनभरविलसंस्तारहारां त्रिनेत्रां
वन्दे पूर्णेन्दुबिम्बप्रतिनिधिवदनामम्बिकामन्नपूर्णाम् ॥ ७॥

Vame  manikhya pathram  madhurasa bharitham bibrathim  pani padme,

Divyai rathnai prapoornaam mani maya  valaye rathna   darveem,

Rakthangeem peena thunga  sthana bhara vilasamsthaa raahaaram   trinethraam,

Vandhe  poornendu   bimba   prathinidhi vadanaam ambikaam     annapooranaam.  7

Holding in her  left hand a vessel made of ruby filled    with essence  of honey,

Adoned   with divine gems and holding   gem studdled ladle in her  gem decorated   arm,

Having blood   coloured body  with fat mountain like breasts  filled with food  , having three eyes.

I salute  her who has a face  very much resembling the full moon, who is mother  Annapurna

भगवति भवरोगात् पीडितं दुष्कृतोत्थात् सुतदुहितृकलत्रोपद्रवेणानुजातम् ।
विलसदमृतदृष्ट्या वीक्ष्य विभ्रान्तचित्तम्  सकलभुवनमातस्त्राहि मामन्नपूर्णे ॥ ८॥

Bhagwathi   bhava rogath peeditham  dushkruthethdath,

Sutha duhithru kalathro upadhravenaanu jaatham,

Vilada amrutha drushtyas  veekshya  vibhrantha   chitham,

SAkala bhuvana   sthraahi maamannapoorne   8

Oh goddess  by my bad actions I  am sick with  Karma,

My son, grandson, wife are being followed by troubles

See  me  who has a  disturbed mind, with  your nectar  like glance

Oh mother of all universe, Protect me, my salutations to you.

माहेश्वरीमाश्रितकल्पवल्लीमहं भवच्छेदकरीं भवानीम् ।
क्षुधार्तजायातनयाभ्युपेतस्त्वामन्नपूर्णां शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥ ९॥

Maheswarim aasritha  kalpavallim

Aham  bhava chedhakarim  bhavanim,

Kshudha artha jaayaa   thanayaad  upetha,

Swa annapurne saranam   Prapadhye 9

Greatest goddess, thewish giving climber  to those   who depend on you,

Cut off my past  Karma   , Oh Bhavani

Hunger  and worries   are with my wife and son,

My Annapurne, I surrender to you

दारिद्र्यदावानलदह्यमानं नमोऽन्नपूर्णे गिरिराजकन्ये ।
कृपाम्बुवर्षैरभिषिञ्च त्वं मां त्वत्पादपद्मार्पितचित्तवृत्तिम् ॥ १०॥

Daridrya  dhavanala   dahyaamanam,

Pahyaa annnapurne  Giri   Raja kanya

Krupaambodhou majjaya maam   thwadheeye,

Thwad  pada  padmarpitha chitha  vruthim,

I am being burnt by poverty like fire,

Protect me  Annapurna ,the daughter of king of mountains,

Dip me in to your   ocean of mercy,

I am offering  all activities of my mind to your lotus like feet

इत्यन्नपूर्णास्तवरत्नमेतच्छ्लोकाष्टकं यः पठतीह भक्त्या ।
तस्मै ददात्यन्नसमृद्धिराशिं श्रियञ्च विद्याञ्च परत्र मुक्तिम् ॥ ११॥

Ithyannapoornaa sthava rathna methath chalokashtakam   ya padatheeha   bhakthyaa,

Thasmai   dadthyanna samrudha  rasim  sriyancha  vidhyaancha parathra mukthim

This is the gem like  eight verses praising Annapurna and if  this is  read with devotion,

He would be given pleanty of food ,prosperity, knowledge and at the  end salvation
(The first two verses is only an introduction and not part of the prayer)

इत्यन्नदाकल्पे षोडशपटले अन्नपूर्णास्तोत्रं समाप्तम् ।

Ithyannandha  kalpe     shodasa  patale   Annapoorna   stotram sampoornam

Thus ends the prayer to annapoorna occurring in the sixteenth  chapter of  Annadhakalpa
