varShe pratiichi lalitaatmani ketumaale

liilaavisheSha-lalita-smita-shObhanaangam |

lakshmyaa-prajaapatisutaishcha niShevyamaaNaM

tasyaaH priyaaya dhR^itakaamatanuM bhaje tvaam || 4

I sing about you, Oh Lord who took the form of love* to please thy beloved,
Who is engaged in divine sports, has a very pleasing smile and is pretty,
Who is well served by Goddess Lakshmi and the sons of Prajapathis,
And who is in the pretty continent of Kethumala which is to the west of Ilavarsha. 21.4

Sthriyo  Vruthaisthwaa hrishikeswaram swatho

Hyaaraadhya  loke pathimaasa sathe anyam

Thaasam na the vai paripaanthya pathyam

Priyam dhanaayoomshi yatho  aswathanthraa

 

Ladies  by  doing penance  to you  Hrishikesa   attain  good husbands,

Worship  you  and get   a husband in this   world of desire,

But such men are  not independent and are unable 

To protect  their offsprings, or their wealth  or their woman.
