(A prayer  to  Lord Sastha)

 

1.Giricharam , karunamrutha  sagaram

 Paricharam, paramam, mrugayaaparam,

Suruchiram, sucharachara  gocharam ,

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

He who roams on mountains, the ocean of nectar  of mercy,

Who serves us, who is divine and interested  in hunting,

Who has great  splendor   and can be seen by  all good beings,

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

2.Pranatha  sanchaya chnthitha  kalpakam

Prantha maadhi  gurum   , sura silpakam

Pranava ranjitha manjula   thalpakam,

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

I salute   the collection of thought of fulfiller of desires

I salute the first Guru and  the God of devas

I salute the pretty  and delightful resting place,

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

3.Ari   saroruha sankha  gadhadharam,

Pariga  mudhgara  bana  danurdaram

Kshurika thomara  sakthi  lasadkaram,

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

He who carries small sword  , lotus  , conch  and  mace

He who carries Iron shield, hammer, arrow   and the bow

He who has knife , javelin  , powerful  Sakthi   and shines

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

4.Vimala manasa , saarasa  bhaskaram,

Vipula  vethradharam prayaskaram

Vimatha  khandana  chanda  Dhanushkaram

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

The pure hearted  entertaining   Sun

He who carries big staff , he who  tries greatly

He who  cuts off  the bad people  and is the  powerful sun,

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

5.Sakala loka namaskrutha padukam,

Sakrud upasaka sajjana  modhakam

Sukrudha   baktha  janavana  deekshakam

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

He who has a feet worshipped by  all worlds

He who is happy with good people who  pray him

He who likes  the people  who    are  good devotees

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

6.Sarana keerthana  bhaktha paarayanam

Charana  varija    aathma   rasayanam

Varaa karatha  vibhuthi  bhooshanam,

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

He who likes   devotees  singing “Saranam”

He whose  lotus feet is elixir   to the soul

He who has blessed  hands and  uses sacred  ash as decoration,

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

7.Mruga madhangitha sathilokojjwalam

Mruga ganaa kalitham, mrugayaakulam

Mruga varasana adbutha  darsanam

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

He who wears hide of  tiger, who shines  with his thilaka

He who plays with  groups of tigers, he who enjoys  hunting

He who gives a grand sight   riding  on a tiger

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara

 

8.Guruvaram, karunamrutha  lochanam

Nirupamam  Nikhilla amaya  mochanam

Puru sukha pradhamathma  nidarsanam,

Hariharathmaja meeswaram   aasraye

 

The great Guru  who has eyes  which have  nectar like  mercy

The  matchless one,the one who frees  from all   sins

The indication  of the   heavenly pleasure  to the souls,

And I depend  on that God who is son of  Hari and Hara
