Soora padmal upadravam than  sahiyamal, devarkal than

Maara vairi kitta vanthu murai murayai  kooraluthaar

Athi kopamaaka Easwaran   ambikayai  than parthu

Athu moolam rethassu  than  avani thannil vezhave

Avani  porukkamal athai

Varunan kayyil than kodukka,

Yennaal aakathendru othungi nindru than uraithaar.

Haranum athai yedu yedu yendru anantharamum than uraikka

Shivan uraitha  chollinaale seegram  agni  than yeduthaan

Anga irunthu yeduthu molla  anna nadayai  nadanthu

Gangai thaneeril kondu vittar

 

Unable  to bear the troubles  caused by  Soora Pama, the devas

Approached the enemy  of Manmatha(Lord Shiva) started  appealing  one  after  another

Then with great  anger  God saw the  Goddess

And due to that his  power  fell on the  earth

And unable to beat the earth,

Gave it to the hands  of Varuna,

He Said  he cannot do it  and went aside

And when lord Shiva   again  and again said “Take it , take it”

Due to the  words of Lord Shiva  Agni(fire god)  took it

Agni took  it and slowly   walked(walked  like swan)

And left  it in the water  of Ganges

 

Gangayum  porukkamale

Naanal chedi naduvil  naalu rendai  pirithu

Vanavarkal vanthiu mange varisayudan valainthu  nirkkka

Senkadhiron aaru vanthu sevayudan udhithaar poal

Angayirinthu avatharitha arumayaana aaru mukha

 

Unable  to bear  river ganges also

Divide it in to four and six and kept  in wild bush

Devas  came there  with gifts and stood  surrounding it

And like sun  coming in  six pieces and rose up

Of six faced one  who took incarnation from there

 

Iru moondru kuzhainthaikalum  oru poale thaan azhave

Arinthu aaru nakshathirangal irangi vanthu mulai kodukka

Sankariyum  arinthu vanthu sevayudan pidithu  anaikka

Sernthathu  aaru  sisukkal  ondraai

Shanmukham, kai eeraaraai

 

When all the six babies started  crying together

Knowing it six stars  came  down and breast  fed them

And Parvathi  knowing  this   came with affection and embraced  all of them,

And all babies  joined  together

With  six faces  and two sets of six hands

 

Othinaar “Om Namo” yendru, avareyum pidithu anaithu,

Veda srushti cheithavare, Velayudhane paarum

Ompathaam matharkale ?(I did not understand?), umakkaka  undu cheithu

Sambasivan  puthirane, Soorarkalai  thaan vadhaikkka

Thaararkalai thaan vadhaitheer

Devarkalai  thaan kaatheer

Sooranai thaan vadaitha  Soora  samharare Sarnam

Ommudaya leelalikalai thaan uraithu  mudiyaathu  yennal

Yen manathin aasayinaal uraithen

Bakthan naan konjam

 

He chanted  “om Namo”, and he  caught and hugged him

“Oh Lord who created the Vedas, Oh Lord who has Vel as weapon please see

Crreated  the ninth maidens  , for your sake

Oh son of Sambashiva, For killing the Sooras

You  killed also the tharkas

You protected  the devas

I surrender  to Soora Samhara  who killed the soora

I will not be able to tell all your sports

Due to the wish of my mind I told

I am a small  devotee
