Yah kal kal chal chal

   (A great prayer in Hindi  where   the  river Ganges  tells about herself.)

Yah kal kal  chal chal  bahthi,

Kya kahathi  ganga   dharaa

Yug yug   se bahtha aathaa,

Yah punya  pravah  hamara

Yah   punya  pravah  hamara

Flowing   making sound ”kal, kal, Chal,Chal”

What does this   river ganges say,

“I am flowing like this for eons and eons,

This blessed   flow is mine ,

This  blessed flow   is mine.”

Yis Dhara se  gul mil kar,

Veerom ki   Raah   bahi hai,

Yis Dhara ki kithni hi,

Rishiyon  ne  saran  grahi hai  ,

Yis Dhara  ki godhi mein ,

Khela  Ithihas Hamara,

Yah punya  pravah Hamara.”

“Mixed   and together   with this flow ,

The path of the  valorous warriors has been made,

It is in  this flow  that  has caught  ,

The surrender   of several sages,

And in the lap of this  flow,

Played   our  history ,

The blessed flow is mine.”

Yah aviral thap  ka phal hai ,

Yah punya pravah   prabal hai,

Shubha samskruthi ka parichayak,

Bharath ka   ya aanchal hai  ,

Hindu ke chir jeevan ka  ,

Maryadha  Dharm   SAhara,

Yah  punya pravah  hamara.

This is the result of ay rare  penance ,

This blessed   flow of mine is famous,

For it is the   attendant of  good   culture ,

And is the   corner of the  Sari   of India ,

And is the help  to respectable  Dharma,

In which   the Hindus   were  living  ,

The blessed flow  is mine.

Kya isko  rok sakenge,

Mitne vala  mit jaayen,

Kankad pathar  ki hasthi,

Kya badha  ban kar aayen,

DAh jayenge  giri parvath ,

Kampe bhoo mandal saraa,

Yah Punya pravah  Hamara

Hey ,would you be able to stop it  ,

Those who try to destroy it would get destroyed ,

So that the  torrential flow over small stones,

Would  become  as    great  difficulty  ,

And the mountains and hills would  get burnt,

And the entire    earth     would shiver,

This blessed flow   is mine.
