Prayer To God to give our wife a long life aka octet of long life to the better half

Prayer to God to give long life to  our better half

Today is the day when your wife   would pray for a long life to you  .I was wondering  if there is any prayer at all   praying for long life to our dear wife , whose only  ambition seems to be to make your life pleasant  , provide you constant companionship  , to advise you  to take the correct decision   in family affairs   and so on. She is  also the  greatest  wealth  that an old man like me can have  because   without even a tinge of selfish  desires  she would always  be with me . I could not find any such prayer   and so decided   to write a prayer myself.  I hope  all husbands  would  enjoy reading it  and after reading it pray  for  a long life to your better half

7.Oh  Goddess  Saraswathi  , Oh Goddess  who holds   the Veena   and the book,

Result of this prayer

She who came  leaving   her family  and uprooted  herself  to be with you,
She who was a constant companion  amidst sorrow and joy, through thick and thin,
She who is   the greatest   wealth any one can have   in this and the other would,
Would  always be with you  giving you joy  and help ,if this prayer  is answered.

  1. As a husband of 29 years, I appreciate the sentiment. The slokas are really beautiful. Was this a composition in English or did you compose in Sanskrit? If so, I would love to see the Sanskrit original as well. THank you.
