Sri Chandra shekara   Suprabathashtakam

1,Mayathriyaamaasu  nimilithakshaam.

Lokathriyamasu   vinidhramenam,

Lokasya reethyaa   hi nibodhayaami,

Saakshaad   gurum  Chandra shekarendram

Like the usual   practice of the  world  I   am trying to understand

The eyes    which  are   shut    fast against   three types of Maya,

The sleep  that has  been  entered   fast    inside the three worlds,

Of  the  real  Guru  srimad  Chandrashekara.

2,Pratha saroja   kusumaani vihaaya   nidhraam,

Balarunathapa suvarna mayaani nithyam,

Koojan  maraala   kala hamsa   ravai  sthuvanthi,

Sri Chandra shekara  guro    thava   suprabatham.

In the morning   the  lotus flowers have ended their sleep,

The   infant sun  has arisen and like   everyday  made  the world golden,

And the melodious swan   with   his soft voice   is praying  to you,

So Oh Guru  Chandrashekara  , a very good morning to you.

3.Brungaascha  peetha madhu  matha  vilasineebhi  ,

Yukthaa saroja  vana jaatha surenu peethaa,

Thwaam  samsthuvanthi   madhurai   kala gunjanaisvai.

Sri Chandra shekara  guro    thava   suprabatham.

The  bees  after drinking the honey   are overjoyed playfully,

Are   going  sensibly  to the forest of lotus flowers for drinking the pollen,

And are  praying to you  in their   sweet   and soft  humming voice ,

So Oh Guru  Chandrashekara  , a very good morning to you.

4.Yelaa lavanga nava  malathi  mallikaadhyaa,

Gandheeni   nithyam amalaani   lalthaa   sumani  ,

Archanthi   pallava karair vinathaa   gruheethwaa,

Sri Chandra shekara  guro    thava   suprabatham.

Holding   a basket   in the flower like hand   you are being offered ,

Cardamom, cloves  , new garlands      made   of jasmine   flowers

And also      pure  scented  flowers  of climbing  plants

So Oh Guru  Chandrashekara  , a very good morning to you.

5.Thubhyam   rasala kadali panasaadhi vrukshaa ,

Koojadwihanganivahair   madhuram sthuvantha  ,

Maadvisanga   madhuram    phala  mudwahanthi,

Sri Chandra shekara  guro    thava   suprabatham.

You   are being   prayed   to  by   the   birds    sitting  on  juicy Banana  

And Jack fruit trees,   which sing to you    in a very sweet voice ,

And along     that   the sweet   fruits    are also waking you up,

So Oh Guru  Chandrashekara  , a very good morning to you.

6,Cauvery  vaari  krutha  majjana  pootha   dehaa  ,

Vedhaadhi manthra nivahai  mukhari kruthasaa,

Vipraa   sthuvanthi   sathathm  natha masthaka  thwaam,

Sri Chandra shekara  guro    thava   suprabatham.

The Brahmins     after  taking bath in the   waters of Cauvery river,

With budding   desires  carrying   with  them   manthras of Vedas ,

Are praying  always to you  with a   bent head in devotion,

 So Oh Guru  Chandrashekara  , a very good morning to you.

7.Bhakthaascha they  vihitha  karmachayaa   vishudhaa,

Bhkthyarjitha akhila visishta  phalaika   hasthaa,

Thwadarsanamagha haram  parilabdhu  kamaa,

Sri Chandra shekara  guro    thava   suprabatham.

Your devotees   purifying themselves   and after  doing  proper rituals,

With great devotion   are    carrying   in the hands all   the   best fruits,

As   offerings to see you and    are standing    to fulfill   their desires,

So Oh Guru  Chandrashekara  , a very good morning to you.

8.Bhoothyaa   sithena vapushaa bhuvi saiva  thathwam,

Bhakthyaarpithena manasaa  vara saktha  thathwam,

Narayanethi  vadathaa   vadanena   vishno,

Thathwam  thwayaa prakatitham  thava   suparbatham.

Your  body is   tied   prettily  to the earth by  the  belief in Shiva ,

Your  mind  is offered   with   devotion   to  the belief in Sakthi,

And your  always chanting  Narayana   signifies,

That  you are  having   belief in Vishnu  , A good morning to you.

9.Swamin  padabja madhupaa  yiva  bhaktha  lokaa,

Sevaam   vidathu madhunaa  thava  jaagarookaa,

Uthishta pankaja padhaani   nidhaya bhoomou,

Poorvam vadaami vinatha sthava  suprabatham.

Oh Lord , your devotees  are  honey bees  hovering   on your lotus like feet,

And they with all attention  so sweet   do  service   to you,

Please  get up on your lotus feet   and stand up  on the earth,

And with humility  like earlier  I will tell  you a very good morning

10.Ithyashtakam  shubhakaram   kali kalmashagnam,

Bhakthena  kena chidaho  parijalpitham cha  ,

Uthaya   japathi   naro  vinatha  prabathe  ,

Sanmangalaani   labhathe   bahudhaathi   seegram.

This  octet   which does  good and destroys   the evils  of Kali age

And if this is  be chanted   by   the devotees    without   neglecting  ,

As soon as they get up and after  bowing    to the morning  ,

They would get several  types of    auspiciousness   very soon.
