Harahara  sankara , advaitha   sankara,

Jaya  jaya   sankara Jagat   guruve,

Karuna saagara  Kanchi maa  muniye

Guruve un padham  panithome 1

Hara  Hara  Sankara , the Sankara  of  non dual philosophy,

Hail , hail  Sankara, who   is the Guru of the world,

Oh ocean of mercy  , Oh great   seer of Kanchi,

Oh Guru , we    salute    your   feet,

Anushathandru   arut  guru naamam,

AAnandamai  cholli  Magizhvome ,

Iha para  sukham   thanthu  immayum marumayum,

Eesadhi   roopane  katharulvar.   2

On Anusham day   the divine  name of Guru,

Would be told by us   with joy   and we would be happy,

That  Guru who has   the form of the God  would protect ,

Us in this world as well as heaven  and also give us happiness  here as well as there.

Unnatha  guruvai   ullathil niruthi(iruthi),

OOzh  vinai kalaivom   guruvarulaal,

Enniyatharuli   endrum kaappar  ,

Ekamban  nizhalamar   maha   swami.  3

By the blessings  of Guru we would loose   the fate of Karma,

By  placing   that great   Guru in our   heart,

By giving what  we desire  , we would  be protected forever,

By the great   seer   who sits in the shadow of Ekamranatha.

Iynthodu ettum enniye   dhinamum,

Oppatha  guruvai panivome,

Othida avar naamam   oar thuyar indri  ,

Oushadhamai   arul pozhinthu   arulvar. 4

By meditating on Panchakshara   and Ashtakshara  manthras   daily,

WE would    salute   the  incomparable   Guru,

When we  chant his name  , without  any sorrow ,

Like  medicine    he would shower   his blessings on us

Karunai kadalaam kanchi ma muniyin,

Karunya paarvai  pethridave,

KIttidum manida pirappin phalane- avar,

Keerthigal paadi , magizhvome.   5

Once you get    the merciful glance  of ,

The great seer  of Kanchi who is an ocean of mercy,

WE would get  the meaning  of birth as human being,

Let us sing his fame   and become happy.

Kundru uru Shivane   kurum thadi yenthi,

Koopi thozhuthorkku   arul puriya ,

Kedils  nadhi theera  vizhuppuram thalathil ,

Kedayamai  nammai kaakka   vanthaar. 6

For   blessing all those   who salute him  with folded hands  ,

Similar  to the  Lord Shiva coming to earth with a   staff in hand,

He  was born in  Vizhuppuram   on the  banks  of Kedila river  ,

So that   he can protect    all of us   like a shield.

Kai mel phalanx tharum   guruvaam ivare  ,

KOndrai choodiya   easwarane,

Kodi Chandra   prakasa   guruve,

Gowri  manohara   sankarane,7

He  is the Guru who gives us immediate  results,

The god  Shiva who wears   the kondrai flower,

He is the  Guru shining like crores  of moon,

The  God SAnkara   who robbed the  mind of  Gauri.
