தொந்தி சரிய மயிரே வெளிறநிரை
     தந்த மசைய முதுகே வளையஇதழ்
          தொங்க வொருகை தடிமேல் வரமகளிர் ...... நகையாடி

 

With  paunch  hanging  , with  hair  becoming white

With  row  of teeth   shaking,  with  back  bending,

With  lips  hanging and walking  holding a stick   with one hand

With  girls  laughing at us

தொண்டு கிழவ னிவனா ரெனஇருமல்
     கிண்கி ணெனமு னுரையே குழறவிழி
          துஞ்சு குருடு படவே செவிடுபடு ...... செவியாகி

 

With cough   telling a preface  that  you are extremely  old,

By  sounding like a bell, with  voice   shuddering ,

With eyes  fading  and our  becoming blind

With   ears  becoming  very , very deaf

வந்த பிணியு மதிலே மிடையுமொரு
     பண்டி தனுமெ யுறுவே தனையுமிள
          மைந்த ருடைமை கடனே தெனமுடுக ...... துயர்மேவி

 

With diseases  affecting  and   interfering  in  between,

With doctor suffering to cure us and

With  young children   enquiring  about  our liabilities and assets

With great  sorrow

மங்கை யழுது விழவே யமபடர்கள்
     நின்று சருவ மலமே யொழுகவுயிர்
          மங்கு பொழுது கடிதே மயிலின்மிசை ...... வரவேணும்

 

The wife crying and falling on you   and  emissaries

Of God  of death  struggling  to take  your soul,

And  when the soul  is going out  , riding on a  peacock  , he   should come

எந்தை வருக ரகுநா யகவருக
     மைந்த வருக மகனே யினிவருக
          என்கண் வருக எனதா ருயிர்வருக ...... அபிராம

 

Oh father  come  , Oh Raghunayaka   come

Oh child   come, Oh son   you come now

Oh my darling come, Oh My   darling soul come-Oh Abhirama

இங்கு வருக அரசே வருகமுலை
     யுண்க வருக மலர்சூ டிடவருக
          என்று பரிவி னொடுகோ சலைபுகல ...... வருமாயன்

 

Please  come here, Oh king  please come,

You  can  feed milk from me , please  come, wearing   flowers  you please come,

Like  this when Kausalya  said  the god  does come

சிந்தை மகிழு மருகா குறவரிள
     வஞ்சி மருவு மழகா அமரர்சிறை
          சிந்த அசுரர் கிளைவே ரொடுமடிய ...... அடுதீரா

                                                                                                                                                    

The nephew who  makes the lord Vishnu  happy, The pretty one

Who is hugged  by  Valli  of Kuravar clan, the one 

Who fought to destroy  all asuras   who jailed  devas, the greatly brave one

திங்க ளரவு நதிசூ டியபரமர்
     தந்த குமர அலையே கரைபொருத
          செந்தி னகரி லினிதே மருவிவளர் ...... பெருமாளே.

 

The  son given by Shiva who wore crescent  , river and the serpenr

 In Thiruchendur    where   waves dash against  the shore where  he lived

He is the God   who sat   there  with great  joy , oh lord
