Vibheeshana   Gita (From Thulasi   Ramayan)

When Rama went  to war with Ravana  he  went on foot  and Ravana was riding on a chariot .           Vibheeshana became sad and   expressed  it  . Rama then told him what  type of great chariot he  was riding   and this is  called  “Vibheeshana  Gita”

 

रावनु रथी बिरथ रघुबीरा।

देखि बिभीषन भयउ अधीरा।।1।।

Ravana  riding on the  chariot and Rama  without it

Was  seen by  Vibheeshana who became  scared and lost his  courage

 

अधिक प्रीति मन भा संदेहा।

बंदि चरन कह सहित सनेहा।।2।।

 

Adhika  preethu  man  ka  sandhehaa

Bandhi  Charan kah  sahith snehaa

 

More  love and doubt in mind

He caught  hold of his feet  and with love  told

 

नाथ न रथ नहिं तन पद त्राना।

केहि बिधि जीतब बीर बलवाना।।3।।

 

Nath  , na Rath  nahin  than padh   thraanaa

Kehi vidhi  jeethabh veer balavaanaa

 

The lord   does not have chariot and  has to manage by his feet

This is the fate, though he is valorous  and strong

 

सुनहु सखा कह कृपानिधाना।

जेहिं जय होइ सो स्यंदन आना।।4।।

 

Sunahu  SAkhaa  kah   Kripaa  nidhanaa

Jehin  jaya  hoie so syandhan aanaa

 

Please hear  friend, said the  treasure of mercy

It is not true  that   those  who ride  on chariot will win

 

सौरज धीरज तेहि रथ चाका।

सत्य सील दृढ़ ध्वजा पताका।।5।।

 

Sauraj  dheeraj  thehi  rath  chaakaa

Sathya sheel  drida  dwajaa  pathakaa

 

It is sufficient  if one rides  on chariot of  honesty and bravery

With  a firm   flag    of   character  of truth

 

बल बिबेक दम परहित घोरे।

क्षमा कृपा समता रजु जोरे।।6।।

 

Bal  vivek  Dham  parahitgh   ghore

Kshamaa  kripaa  samathaa  raju  Jore

 

Strength  , wisdom  , fearlessness, good of others  will be his  horses

Patience  , mercy  , and  equality  will be   the ropes

 

ईस भजनु सारथी सुजाना।

बिरति चर्म संतोष कृपाना।।7।।

Ees  bhajanu saradhi  sujaanaa

Bhirthee  charm   santhosh  kripaanaa

 

Devotee  of God   will be   his good driver

With the shine  of detachment  and the  sword of happiness

 

दान परसु बुधि सक्ति प्रचंडा।

बर विग्यान कठिन कोदंडा।।8।।

 

Dhan  Parasu  Budhi sakthi  prachandaa

Bhar   vighyaan  katin   koddhandaqa

 

The axe of charity would   be his great strength

Added  to hif intelligence  and  the strong logic  of kodhanda

अमल अचल मन त्रोन समाना।

सम जम नियम सिलीमुख नाना।।9।।

 

Amal  achal   man  thron samaanaa

Sam jam  niyam  silimukh nanaa

 

Pure  strong mind  arrow  case 

With  stability of mind  and  rules of life  as arrows

कवच अभेद बिप्र गुर पूजा।

एहि सम बिजय उपाय न दूजा।।10।।

 

Kavach abbedh   vipra gur  pooja

Yehi   sam vijay upai  na dhoojaa

 

The unbreakable armour of worship of  Brahmin Guru

These  are    the  total needs  for achieving victory and not any thing else

 

सखा धर्ममय अस रथ जाकें।

जीतन कहन कतहुरिपु ताकें।।11।।

 

Sakhaa  dharma maya  asu  Radh jaake

Jeethan  kahan  kthahuripu  thaake

 

Friend getting  into this chariot  full of Dharma

Which   enemy  cannot be defeated

 

महा अजय संसार रिपु जीति सकइ सो बीर।

जाकें अस रथ होइ दृढ़ सुनहु सखा मतिधीर।।12।।

 

Maha ajai  samsaar   ripu   jethi   sakayi   so beer

Jaanke   asu Radha hoi drud sunahu sakha  mathi dheer

 

The  great undefeatble  enemy  can be defeated  by  this hero

Who rides on such storng charrot, oh friend who has a brave  mind

 

सुनि प्रभु बचन बिभीषन हरषि गहे पद कंज।

एहि मिस मोहि उपदेसेहु राम कृपा सुख पुंज।।13।।

 

Suni Prabhu   vachan Vibheeshan harshi gahe  padh kanjaa

Yehi   mis moi  Upadesehu ram kripaa   such punj

 

Hearing the words  of the lord Vibheeshana  became happy and caught his feet
