மிதிலை இளவரசி தெய்வ மகள் - சீதை

சிவ தனுசை நகர்த்தும் வீரமகள்- சீதை

சித்தர் சிவ முக்தர் ஜனகர் மகள் – சீதை

Stared   at the  very   good  Rama

Rama who  also liked  , looked at her  with interest

He Made the tall bow of Shiva   stand erect

சீதாராமன் தாள் பணிந்து சரண் அடைந்ததே

சீதைக்கும் ஶ்ரீராமனுக்கும் திருமணம் ஆனதே

சித்தர் ஜனகர் மடி அமர்த்தி தாரை வார்த்தாரே

சீதா கல்யாணம் சொல்லி வாழ்த்திடுவோம்

When arrow was  mounted  on bow of Shiva , it broke and fell down

It  saluted the feet  of Sita Rama  and  surrendered  to him

The wedding of  Sita  with Rama took place

The Sidha janaka  made bride sit on his lap  and gave her  away

That which immediately grants  body without  defects and gives  higher  thoughts  , Sri Rama Jayam

That which grants higher statu to  to even souls   which are  like  dumb , Sri Rama jayam

 

Yendrum namakku  inbam alithu inge  iruppthu , Sri  Rama Jayam

Yemakku ithu sathu, pirarkku ithu theethu yenbathu   athrathu , Sri rama Jayam

Yethum ahru yengi nirpor thamakku yethram  tharuvathu  , Sri Rama Jayam

That which always  gives us pleasure  and is always  here  , Sri Rama Jayam

That which does not say This is good for me  and bad  for others  , Sri Rama Jayam

That which grants  better life to those  who do not have anything  and are  sad, Sri rama jayam

That which took the form of a boar , carried  the world and kept  in its place  , Sri Rama  jayam

 

Aiym bhoothangalai  adimayai  konda   anuman  uraithathu  , Sri Rama  Jayam

Aim mukathavanum, pangayathavanum amararum  uraippathu , Sri Rama jayam

Oru vazhi nillathu alayuru manathai oru vazhi paduthum  , Sri Rama jayam

Oruvanum  yaan yena  ninai yendru  unmai unarthum  , Sri Rama jayam

 

That which is told my Hanuman whohad five  great elements  as his  slave , Sri Rama jayam

280.When the   time for delivery came  ,

And the goddess earth became very happy 

And the bamboo like Punar poosam star  . the devas,

And the pure Rasi of Kadaka   , jumped with joy.

 

281. Sidhas  , devas   and middle aged women,

Famous saints , those who live   in  heaven,

And those who live   in heaven after   death ,

Shouted in joy when time came closer and closer ,

Thinking that   the great God of Dharma   would live long.

 

282.That  Kousalya with great ability  , for the sake  of auspiciousness.

Gave birth to a child , who  kept  the world safe during the time of final deluge  ,

By keeping it in his belly , And who    is the  one who cannot be understood by Vedas,

And who  is the lustrous light showing   the prettiness of  a budding  cloud.

(This famous Hindi bhajan describes how Rama at birth appeared like Lord Vishnu to his mother Kausalya and who how he assumed the form of a human baby at her request .In Valmiki Ramayana , Rama is only born as a human baby and this is not there.However in Adhyatma Ramayana , this scene is very much there.Since Saint Thulasidas wrote in Awadhi dialect of Hindi, it was extremely difficult to translate .I took the help of a translation in India-forums.com.My acknowlwdgement to that web site . भये प्रगट कृपाला दीनदयाला कौसल्या हितकारी .

हरषित महतारी मुनि मन हारी अद्भुत रूप बिचारी ..

लोचन अभिरामा तनु घनस्यामा निज आयुध भुज चारी .

भूषन वनमाला नयन बिसाला सोभासिन्धु- खरारी ..

Harshit mahatari muni man haari adbhut roop bichari

Lochan abhirama tanu ghanshyama nij aayudha bhuj chaari

Bhushan vanamala nayan bisala sobhasindhu kharari

 

THe lord who exhibits his mercy and compassion to the suffering , appeared before Kausalya ,

And she was gladdened on seeing him who stole the heart of sages and thought about his great form,

As he had ever pretty eyes, was having a dark black body and held weapons in four hands,

And also that killer of Khara Wore a forest garland , had broad eyes, was an ocean of beauty .

 

कह दुइ कर जोरी अस्तुति तोरी केहि बिधि करौं अनंता .

माया गुन ग्यानातीत अमाना वेद पुरान भनंता ..

करुना सुख सागर सब गुन आगर जेहि गावहिं श्रुति संता .

सो मम हित लागी जन अनुरागी भयौ प्रकट श्रीकंता ..

 

Kah dui kara jori astuti tori kehi bidhi karaun ananta

Maya gungyaanateet amaana vedpuraan bhavanta

Karuna sukh sagar sab gun gaagar jehi gaavahi shruti santa

So mama hita laagi jana anuragi bhayo prakat shrikanta

 

She saluted him joining her palms , sang his praise and asked him “ Oh lord of infinite and endless mercy, how do I praise you,

AS the Vedas and puranas say that you are beyond Maya, beyond all the attributes and knowledge and you are immesurable ,

You are ocean of joy and mercy , the collection of all good virtues and that you are praised by all Vedas and sages,

And for the sake of pleasing me , Oh Lord of Lakshmi , you have appeared before me.

 

ब्रह्मांड- निकाया निर्मित माया रोम रोम प्रति बेद कहै .

मम उर सो बासी यह उपहासी सुनत धीर मति थिर न रहै ..

उपजा जब ग्याना प्रभु मुसुकाना चरित बहुत बिधि कीन्ह चहै .

कहि कथा सुहाई मातु बुझाई जेहि प्रकार सुत प्रेम लहै ..

 

Bramhand nikaya nirmit maya rom rom prati bed kahai

Mama ur so baasi yeh upahaasi sunat dheer mati thir na rahai

Upaja jab gyaana prabhu muskaanaa charti bahut bidhi keenha chahai

Kahi katha sunayi maatu bujhayi jehi prakaar suta prem lahai

The Vedas say that you create body of the universe from every pore of the hair by the power of your Maya

Even wise men , on hearing that you lived in my womb would find it difficult to believe,

And when this thought came to the mother the Lord smiled and told her that as sports he does diverse acts.

And he told her joyful stories so that she would start loving him like a child.

 

माता पुनि बोली सो मति डोली तजहु तात यह रूपा .

कीजे सिसुलीला अति प्रियसीला यह सुख परम अनूपा ..

सुनि बचन सुजाना रोदन ठाना होइ बालक सुरभूपा .

यह चरित जे गावहि हरिपद पावहि ते न परहिं भवकूपा ..

 

Maata puni boli so mati doli tajahu taat yeh roopa

Keeje sishuleela ati priyaseela yeh sukh param anoopa

Suni bachana sujaana rodna thaana hoyi baalak sura bhoopa

Yeh charit jegavahi haripad paavahi te hina parahi bhavakoopa

 

On hearing it the mother’s mind changed and the lord gave up the form he had assumed,

And she requested him to do baby like acts and became very dear to her and give her great happiness,

On hearing these words the all knowing lord left being an immortal lord and started crying like a child.

The one who sings this story would witness the feet of Lord Vishnu and would never fall back in to the birth- death cycle
