(The renowned temple of Arulmigu Mathura Kaliamman at Siruvachur located 50 kms from Trichy and 8 kms from Perambalur has an antiquity dating back to 1000 years. Large number of devotees throng this temple on Mondays and Fridays to worship the powerful deity and seek her divine blessings. According to tradition Chelliamman was the local deity of Siruvachur. An evil magician through his intense devotion to the deity won her favour. Pleased with his devotion, Chelliamman granted him any boon he wished. The cruel sorcerer wished that the deity should be his servant and do his bidding at all times. Bound by the power of her own boon Chelliamman had no other option but to obey all his evil commands.Then Kaliamman/Kannagi  came  and killed  the magician and  They were  worshipped as Goddess  in the great temple)

 

தவமாய் வந்தாய் தாயே
துணையாய் நின்றாய் நீயே
தாளினைப் பணிந்தோம் தாயே
தாங்கிட வேண்டும் நீயே

மாலைகள் கொண்டு
பூஜைகள் செய்தோம் தாயே
விக்னமும் வினையும் தீர்த்து
வெற்றிகள் தருவாய் நீயே

Vighnamum  vinayum theerthu

Vethrikal  tharuvai neeye

 

With garlands

WE worshipped  you oh mother

Puttting an end  to roadblocks   and fate

You please give us victory

குங்குமம் மஞ்சளும் விபூதி கொண்டு
பூஜைகள் செய்தோம் தாயே
பொங்கிடும் மங்கலம் தந்து
புவியில் உயர்த்துவாய் நீயே

 

Kumkumam  , manjalum  vibhoothi  kondu

Poojaikal   cheithom  thaaye

Pongidum  mangalam   thanthu

Puviyil    uyarthuvai     neeye

 

With Kumkum , turmeric and  sacred ash

WE worshipped  you oh mother

Giving us ebbing   good  luck,

Please lift us  up on this earth

சந்தனம் அதை அரைத்தெடுத்து
பூஜைகள் செய்தோம் தாயே
சந்தானம் சௌபாக்கியம் தந்து
சுபமெல்லாம் சேர்ப்பாய் நீயே

Chandanam   athai araitheduthu

Poojaikal   cheithom  thaaye

Santhanam  saubhakkiyam   thanthu

Shubamellam     cherppai neeye

 

After  grainding sandal   and taking out

WE offered   worship to you oh mother

BY giving children  and great  luck

Please add   all that is good  to our life
