Chanting this  திருநள்ளாறு பச்சைப் பதிகம்(THirunalathu  Pachai Pathikam)  Composed  by THirujnana Sambandar   about  the Shiva(darbaranyeshwara  temple)   at  thirunallaru (where separate temple   for God Sani is there)  , would get  rid of all the problems  caused  by planet Saturn like unforeseen sorrow and problems. Devotees believe  chanting any verse  of this great  prayer  is equally effective

திருநள்ளாறு பச்சைப்பதிகம் :

 

போகம் ஆர்த்த பூண்முலையாள் தன்னோடும் பொன்னகலம்

பாகம் ஆர்த்த பைங்கண் வெள்ஏற்று அண்ணல் பரமேட்டி,

ஆகம் ஆர்த்த தோல் உடையன், கோவண ஆடையின்மேல்

நாகம் ஆர்த்த நம்பெருமான், மேயது நள்ளாறே. 1

 

Bogam  aartha  poon mulayaal  thannodum   ponnakalam

BHagam aartha  paingan  vel yethru  annal  parametti

AAkam   aartha thol udayan, kovana  aadayin mel

Naagam  aartha  nam perumal   , meyathu  Nallare

 

With   well ornamented goddess Uma with passionate  breasts

Shared  on one  of his sides  , riding on white  elephant with hungry eyes is God  parameshwara

Who wears  elephant hide as  dess and  tucks  his loin cloth

On a snake tied  to his hip and he  is our God and  is in Nallaru 

 

தோடுடைய காது உடையன், தோல்உடையன், தொலையாப்

பீடுடைய போர்விடையன் பெண்ணும் ஓர் பாலுடையன்

ஏடுடைய மேல் உலகோடு ஏழ்கடலும் சூழ்ந்த

நாடுடைய நம்பெருமான், மேயது நள்ளாறே. 2

 

Thodudaya   kaathu udayan  , thol  udayan  , tholayaa

Peedudaya  por vidayan, pennum oru  paal udayan

Yedudaya mel   ulagodu   yez kadalum choozhntha

Naadudaya  nam permaan , meyathu  Nallare

 

He  has ears with  ear  studs,  dresses  himself   in elephant skin  and,

Is one with endless  fame,  is fond of  fierce battle  , has one lady  on one side

And is our God  with seven worlds  above and surrounded by

Seven oceans and the place   that he likes in Nallaru

 

ஆன்முறையால் ஆற்ற வெண்நீறு ஆடி, அணியிழைஓர்

பால்முறையால் வைத்த பாதம் பத்தர் பணிந்தேத்த

மான்மறியும் வெண்மழுவும் சூலமும் பற்றிய கை

நால்மறையான், நம்பெருமான், மேயது நள்ளாறே. 3

 

AAn murayaal   aathra  ven neeru aadi  aniyizhai  oar

Paal murayaal   vaitha   padham   pathar   pannithethra

Maan mariyum  ven mazhuvum  soolamum  pathriya  kai

Naan marayaan nam peruman meyathu  nallare

 

I hold   and salute   the feet  of him who  coats his entire body

 With sacred ash  taken from cow  ,who keeps  well ornamented  lady on his side

Who holds young deer , white axe   and trident and,

Who   told   the four Vedas , who is our god who likes  Nallaru

 

புல்க வல்ல வார்சடைமேல் பூம்புனல் பெய்து, அயலே

மல்க வல்ல கொன்றைமாலை மதியோடு உடன்சூடி,

பல்க வல்ல தொண்டர்தம் பொற்பாத நிழல்சேர,

நல்கவல்ல நம்பெருமான் மேயது நள்ளாறே. 4

 

Pulka valla  vaar  jadai mel  poom punal   peithu , ayale

Malka  valla kondrAi maalai mathiyodu   udan choodi

Palga  valla thondar  tham  por padha  nizhal chera

Nalka valla  nam perumaan  meyathu  Nallare

 

Having  The  great river on his   long  hair and near  it

Wearing the Golden Shower garland , crescent of moon  near it

Is the god who grants  his devotees  who depend on him ,

Luck to   salute the shadow of his feet and he  likes  Nallaru

 

ஏறுதாங்கி ஊர்திபேணி, ஏர்கொள் இளமதியம்

ஆறுதாங்கும் சென்னிமேல் ஓர் ஆடு அரவம்சூடி

நீறுதாங்கி நூல்கிடந்த மார்பில் நிரை கொன்றை

நாறுதாங்கும் நம்பெருமான் மேயது நள்ளாறே. 5

 

Yeru thaangi   oorthi peni  yer kol  ila  mathiyam

AAru thaangum  chenni mel   oar  aadu  aravam   choodi

Neeru  thaangi nool kidantha maarbil nirai kondrai

Naaru  thaangum  nam perumaan meyathu nallare

 

Carying a bull flag  and using bull as steed having  Moon’s crescent

River ganges on his hair   and along with them a moving snake

Wearing sacred ash, having sacred thread on chest and having smell ,

Of the garland of Golden Shower  flower  he wears is my Lord and he likes Nallaru

 

திங்கள் உச்சிமேல் விளங்கும் தேவன், இமையோர்கள்

எங்கள் உச்சி, எம்இறைவன் என்று அடியே இறைஞ்ச,

தங்கள் உச்சியால் வணங்கும் தன் அடியார்கட்கு எல்லாம்

நங்கள் உச்சி நம்பெருமான் மேயது நள்ளாறே. 6

 

Thingal uchi  mel vilangum  devan, imayorkal

Yengal uchi  yem iraivan   yendru adiye  irainja

Thangal  uchiyaal vanangum tham adiyaarkku yellam

Nangal  uchi   nam peruman meyathu  nallare

 

The God with  moon on his head , the devas

Being on their head  , you are my god  , when devotees begged

And to all his devotees   who salute him by their head

And say to our God that  he is on their head and he likes Nallaru

 

வெஞ்சுடர்த்தீ அங்கை ஏந்தி, விண்கொள் முழவு அதிர,

அஞ்சுஇடத்து ஓர் ஆடல் பாடல் பேணுவது அன்றியும் போய்ச்,

செஞ்சடைக்கு ஓர் திங்கள் சூடி திகழ்தருகண்டத் துள்ளே

நஞ்சு அடைத்த நம்பெருமான், மேயது நள்ளாறே. 7

 

Venchudar   thee  angai yenthi , vin kol muzhavu  athira

Anju idathu   oar aadal paadal penuvathu   andriyum poi

Chenchadaikku oar  thingal   choodi thigazh tharu kandathulle

Nanju adaitha  nama permal, Meyathu   nallare

 

Holding  burning fire  on  one hand and rocjing hand drun and making world shiver

He danced  and sang  on the fearsome  cremation ground ,

Decorating his head   with a moon  and holding in his neck

The poison which choked him is our God   and he likes  Nallaru

 

சிட்டம் ஆர்ந்த மும்மதிலும் சிலைவரைத்தீ அம்பினால்

சுட்டுமாட்டிச், சுண்ணவெண் நீறுஆடுவது அன்றியும்போய்ப்

பட்டம் ஆர்ந்த சென்னிமேல் ஓர்பால் மதியம் சூடி,

நட்டம் ஆடும் நம்பெருமான் மேயது நள்ளாறே. 8

 

Chittam  aarntha  mummathilum chilai varai thee  ambinaal

Chuttu maatti , chunna   ven neeru  aaduvathu andriyum poi

Pattam AArntha chenni mel oar pal  madhiyam    choodi

Nattam aadum  nam peruman meyathu Nallare

 

Burning and destroying   famous Tripura  using   his bow

Of fire, Dancing completely covered by white   sacred ash

And decorating his head where Aadi Pattam(kite)  is tied 

And playing the dance is our God   and he  likes Nallaru

 

உண்ணல் ஆகா நஞ்சு கண்டத்து உண்டு, உடனே ஒடுக்கி

"அண்ணல் ஆகா அண்ணல் நீழல் ஆர் அழல் போல் உருவம்

எண்ணல்ஆகா உள்வினை' என்று எள்க வலித்து இருவர்

நண்ணல் ஆகா நம்பெருமான், மேயது நள்ளாறே. 9

 

Unnalaakaa  nanju kandathu undu  udane  odukki

Annalaakaa annal neezhal aarazhal poal uruvam

Yennalaakaa  ul  vinai yendru  yelka valithu  iruvar

Nannal  aakaa nam perumal meyathu  nallaare

 

He who swallowed poison not to be eaten ,and made it stand on his neck

The lord whom no one can approach , who had lustrous form like fire

Who made Vishnu and Brahma sad  feeling that  his   form cannot be measured

And who could not approach him is our Lord. Who liked  Nallaru

 

மாசுமெய்யர், மண்டைத்தேரர், குண்டர் குணமிலிகள்

பேசும்பேச்சை மெய்என்று எண்ணி, அந்நெறி செல்லன்மின்,

மூசுவண்டார் கொன்றைசூடி, மும்மதிலும் உடனே

நாசம் செய்த நம்பெருமான்; மேயது நள்ளாறே. 10

 

The samanas  with dirty body , the budhists   bagging with skull in hand   are evil nastured

And believing   what they say is truth , do not join their religion

And he who wears the Golden Shower garlands  sy urrounded by bees  and the one

Who destroyed  Tripura is our lord  Who liked  Nallaru

 

தண்புணலும் வெண்பிறையும் தாங்கிய தாழ்சடையன்,

நண்புநல்லார் மல்குகாழி ஞானசம்பந்தன், நல்ல

பண்புநள்ளாறு ஏத்துபாடல் பத்தும் இவைவல்லார்

உண்பு நீங்கி, வானவரோடு உலகில் உறைவாரே. 11

 

Than punalum  ven pirayum thaangiya   thaazh chadayan

Nanbu nallar malku kazhi jnana samabandan  , nalla

Panbu  nallaru   yethu  padal pathum   ivai   vallar

Unmbu neengi   vaanavarodu   ulagil   uraivaaare

 

The Jnana Sambanda born in Sirkazhi who believed

On who, carried cool ganges   and white   moon

Has sung these  ten verses about  Nallar   where  good people live

And those  who  can chant it  and they would live with devas  leaving their karma
