1,Prayer before Nandikeswara

 

Nandikesa  Mahabhaga  , shiva  dhyana parayna,                                                                             

Uma  Sankara  sevartham  anujnaan  dathumarhasi

 

Oh Lord Nandi , Oh great one  who always  meditates on Lord Shiva,

I request  your permission    for the service  of  Lord  Shiva and  Goddess  Uma.

 

2.Prayer before Vighneswara

 

1.Gajananam, bhootha ganadhi sevitham

Kapitha jamboo phala saara bakshitham

Umasutham,  soka vinasa  karanam

Namami vighneswara padha pankajam

 

I salute  the  lotus  like  feet  of Vighneswara

Who has  elephant like face, is served  by  crowd of Bhoothas,

Who eats the  juice of wood apple  and Jamun

Who is  son of Uma and is cause of destruction of sorrow

 

2.Vakra thunda maha  kayam, koti surya  sama prabha

Avighnam kuru  may deva, sarva  karyeshu sarvadhaa

 

O Lord Ganesha of the curved trunk and massive body, the one whose splendor is equal to millions of Suns,

please bless me to that I do not face any obstacles in my endeavors

 

3.Shiva  dhyanam

 

1.Vandhe Shambhum , uma pathim, sura gurum, Vandhe Jagath Karanam

Vandhe pannaga  bhooshanam Mruga dharam, Vandhe pasoonaam pathim

Vandhe surya sasankha vahni  nayanam, Vandhe  Mukunda priyam

Vandhe  Baktha janasrayam cha  varadham Vandhe  shivam sankaram

 

Salutations to Shambhu , the lord  of Uma,The guru  of devas,Salutations to  cause of the  world

Salutations to one  decorated by serpent, one who carries a deer, Salutations  to lord of all beings

Salutations to one having sun, moon  and fire as yes, Salutations  to  one  liked by Vishnu

Salutations to one  depended by devoteesand the giver of boons, Salutations to Shiva who is Sankara

 

2.Halasya nadhaya maheshwaraya,

Hala halalankrutha kandharaya,

Meenekshanaya padaye shivaya,

Namo nama Sundara thandavaya.,

 

Salutations and salutations to the handsome dancer,
Who is the great god and lord of town of Madhurai,
Who stopped the poison called halahala in his neck,
And who is the lord of the devi with eyes like fish.

 

3.Mruthyunjaya Rudraya Neela kandaya Shambhave

Amruthesaaya sharvaaya Maha  devaya  they nama

 

Salutations  to winner  over  death, Rudra, one with blue  neck,

Lord Shambhu  ,God of deathlessness,Sharva and  the  great God

 

4.Sri Dakshinamurthy

 

1.Gurave sarva lokanam, bhishaje bhava roginam,

Nidhaye sarva vidhyanam, Dakshinamurthaye nama

 

Salutaions to thr God of South,
Who is the teacher of all the world,
Who is the doctor for all diseases,
And who is the store house of all knowledge.

 

2.Ajnana thimira andhasya

Jnanajnana salaakayaa,

Chakshur unmeelitham yena,

Thasmai sri Gurave nama

 

He who opens the eyes of a person ,

Blinded by the cataract of darkness,

And makes his eyes see everything,

Is the Guru and so salutations to him

 

5.Subrahamanya

 

1.Dwishadbujam dwadasa divya nethram,
Trayee thanum soolamasim dadhanam,
Seshavatharam, kamaneeya roopam,
Brahmanya devam , saranam prapadye.

I seek refuge with the god, who is Brahman,
Who has two sets of six hands,
Who has twelve holy eyes,
Who is the son of the three eyed one,
Who gave him his weapon “Soola”
Who is the incarnation of Sesha,
And who has a very pretty looks.

 

2.Shadananam, kumkuma  raktha  varnam

Maha mathim, dhivya mayura  vahanam

Rudrasya sunum, sura sainya  nadhan

Guham sadhaa  saranamaham prapadhye

 

God with six  faces having blood red  colour of Kumkum

Who is very intelligent, who has divine peacock as steed

Who is sun of Rudra, Who is chief  of army of devas

And who is Guha, I  always surrender  to you

 

6.Sri  Chandikeswara

 

Neela kanda  padambhoja, parisphuritha  manasa

Sambho seva  phalam dehi , Chandeswara namosthuthe

 

Oh Lord  whose mind bursts  forth on seeing the lotus feet of Blue necked God

Please grand me the result of serving Lord shiva, I salute Chandeswara

 

7.Sri Bhairava

 

Raktha jwalaa Jada dharam, sasi dharan, Rakthanga thejo mayam,

Dakka Shoola kapala pasa gadha dharam Bhairavam,

Nirvanam Gathavahanam Trinayanamcha Ananda kolahalam,

Vande bhootha pisacha natha vadukam Kshethrasya palam Shubham.,

 

I salute the leader of ghosts and Ghouls, Lord Bhairava,
Who wears the red flame as his matted hair,
Who wears the moon, who shines in red colour,
Who holds a drum, spear, skull, rope and mace in his hands,
Who is nude, who rides on a dog, who has three eyes,
Who is always happy and exuberant and is the guard of the temple.

 

8.Nava graham prarthana

 

Nama Suryaya Somaya Mangalaya Budhaya Cha,

Guru Shukra Sanibhyascha, Rahava Kethave Nama.

 

My salutations to The Sun God,
And to the moon, mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Kethu

.

9.Nataraja

 

1.Krupa samaudram, sumukham, trinethram,
Jadadaharam, Parvathi vama bhagam,
Sada shivam, rudramanantha roopam,
Chidambaresam hrudhi bhavayami.

I meditate on that Lord of Chidambaram,
Who is the ocean of mercy,
Who has a pleasant mien,
Who has three eyes,
Who has matted locks,
Who keeps Parvathy on his left side,
Who is ever peaceful,
And who is limitless and angry.

 

2.Ananda nritha samaye, nata  nayakasya

Padaravinda mani nupura  sinchithaani

Aanandayanthi, madhayanthi, vimohayanthi

Romanchayanthi, nayanani kritharthayanthi

 

During  the time  of dance of joy, the jewels ,

In the anklet of the lotus like feet  of the  king of dance

Would make us happy, make  us mad, make us feel  attracted

Horripilate and makeour eyes  thankful.

 

3.Gauri vallabha  kaamaare, kala  koota vishaasana

Mam udhara  bhavambhodha, tripuraghnanthakaanthaka

 

Oh  Lord of Gauri, oh enemy of Manmatha, Oh lord who could tolerate  Kala Koota poison

Please lift b me out  of this ocean of samsara, who killed the killers of fire  of Tripura

 

4.Mahadevam mahesaanaam , maheswaram, umapathim

Mahasena  gurum, vandhe maha bhaya nivaranam

 

h Great God , Oh God who is great  , Oh great God , Consort of Uma

The teacher  to the great commander, I salute you , who removes  great fears

 

10.Goddess  Ambika

 

1.Ashtou bhujangim mahishasya mardhinim,

Sasankhachakram sara soola dharineem,

Thaam divvy yogim sahajatha vedhasim,

Durgaam sada saranamaham prapadhye.

 

I always seek the protection of Durga,
Who has eight hands, who killed Mahisha,
Who is armed with conch, wheel, bow and spear,
Who is a great sage and who was born with Vedas

 

2.Amba sambara vairi thatha bhagini, Sri Chandra bimbanana,
Biboshti smitha bhashini, shubhakari kadambavatyasitha,
Hreengarakshara manthra Madhya subhaga sroninithambhangitha,
Ma mamba pura vasini bhagagawathi herambhamathavathu.

 

Let the mother of Ganesa who lives in Amba pura,
Who is the sister of he who killed Sambara,
Who has a face like the full moon,
Who has reddish lips like Bimba fruits,
Who talks with a smile, who does always good,
Who likes to live in the forest of Kadamba trees,
Who is the good lady who lives in between "hreem",
And who has a very pretty middle part, protect me.

 

3.Sarva mangala mangalye  shive saravartha sadhike,

Sharanye  tryambike devi  Narayani  namothuthe.

 

My salutations to the goddess Narayani,

Who is the auspiciousness  of all auspiciousness ,

Who is consort of Shiva , Who grants all desires,

Who can be  relied  upon and who is the  trinity of Goddesses.

 

4.Aparadha sahasrani kriyanthe aaharnisam maya,

Daso aayamithi maam mathwa kshamaswa parameshwari.,

 

Oh great goddess, I commit thousands of offences routinely,
So please think me as your slave and please pardon me.

 

11.Shiva  Bhajanam

 

1.Shambho Sankara  Saamba Sankara, hara  hara  Sankara

Shiva Shiva Sankara

Shiva, Shiva , Bhava, bhava, Saranam, Shambho

Bhavathu sadhaa thava smaranam

 

Shambho Sankara  Saamba Sankara, hara  hara  Sankara

Shiva Shiva Sankara

Oh Shiva, Oh shiva ,let it happen, let it happen , I surrender oh Shambho

Let  thinking about you  be always there

 

2.Gangadhara , Chandra  Chooda , shambho

Jagan mangala, sarva  loka  needa

Basmoth dhoolitha  deha Sambho

Parama  purusha  Vrisha vaaha

 

Oh god carrying Ganga, who decorates his head with moon’s crescent , Oh Shambhu

Oh God  who makes world  auspicious, Oh resting place of all the world

Oh Shambhu who applies  sacred  ash  all over his body

Oh Divine God  who rides  on a bull

 

3.Panchanana , phani bhooshana Shambho,

Parama Purusha  , Muni vesha

Sakala  agama samvedhya Shambho

Sarva muni jana manasa  hrudhya

 

Oh Shambhu with five faces, who uses snake to decorate

Oh Divine God , who puts n form of a sage

Oh Shambhu who has learnt all agamas

Oh God who please  the mind  of all sages

 

4.Ananda natana vinodha  Shambho

Sachidananda  vigalitha  chetha

Kailasachala vasa  Shambho

Navyakarana swaroopa  Shambho

Sriman Narayana   Asritha deva

 

Oh Shambhu who  entertains  with joyful dance

Oh God who wit divine joy, makes  his form vanish

Oh Shambhu who lives  on Kailasa  Mountain

Oh Shambhu whohas a  form changing according to novelty

Oh God  who is depended by Lord Narayana

 

5.Shambho Mahadeva Samba Sadhashiva  ,Samba Sadhashiva

Shambho Mahadeva Samba  Sadhashiva

Shambho Mahadeva Samba shiva

 

6.Sarva loka  saranyaya Sankaraya Mahathmane

Parvathi prana nadhaya , pancha  vakthraya  mangalam

 

Oh Great God Sankara before  whom all the world surrenders

Oh  Lord of soul of Parvathi, Auspiciousness  to your five faces

 

7.Man mathaa  , sashi sekharo , mama pitha

Mrutyanjayo math guru

Nyagrodha  dhruma moola vasa  rasiko

Madh sodhara  Sankara

 

My Mother  the Chandra Shekara  is my father

He who wins over death  is my Guru

He  who appreciates and lives  on root of Banyan tree

Is my  Brother  Sankara

 

8.Madh Bandhu Tripuranthako, Mama sakhaa,

Kailasa  shailadhipa

Math swami  parameshwaro, mama gathi,

Sambha shivo  nethara

 

My relation is destroyer of Tripura,

My friend  is the lord of  Kailasa  mountain

My  God  is Parameshwara

And my direction is  Sambha shiva  and no other

 

9.Mahabali mukhaa, shivajna paripalaka

Mayaa nivarthithaa yooyam Gacheth  Easwara  Sannidhou

 

With very  powerful face, He who obeys orders  of Lord Shiva

When he removes me , I will  go in front of God  Shiva
