Affection of Lord Krishna

It  tells a story of mother who wanted  to give  kalabha  thulabharam to her baby ,Since Kalabham was costly , mother  started  weping .Seeing this  Guruvayurappan himself  sat in the pan of the baby .Balance  became equal)

 

ഗോകുലം വൃന്ദാവനവും മഥുരയും

ദ്വാരക പുണ്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളെല്ലാം

കൺകുളിർക്കെ കണ്ടു കണ്ടില്ലകണ്ണനെ

Kan kulirkke Kandu  Kandilla kannane

 

In The  holy   places  of Gokula  , Vridhavan

Mathura   and dwaraka

With  eyes becoming cool,  I saw  but  did not see  Krishna

 

കുണ്ഠിതമാർന്നെന്റെ

ചിത്തമപ്പോൾ

ഉണ്ടായൊരുൾവിളിയെത്തീ ഗുരുവായൂരമ്പലത്തിൽ ഹരേ!

നാരായണാ...

 

Kundutham  AArnnu  yende

Chithamappol , undaai arul

Vili  yethee  Guruvaur ambalathil,

 

My memory  became  full of

Worries   and then there  reached

A divine call came

And  I  reached  Guruvayur temple, Oh  Hari

 

കാലടിവെക്കാൻ സ്ഥലമില്ലയെങ്കിലും

കണ്ണനെത്തേടി നടന്നു ഞാനും

ശ്രീലകത്തില്ല സപ്താഹസ്ഥലത്തില്ല

കൂത്തമ്പലത്തിലും കണ്ണനില്ല

 

Kaladi vekkan    sthalamilla   yengilum

Kannane   thedi  jnanum

Sri lakathilr   sapthaha   sthalathilla

Kuthu ambalithilum   Kannanilla

 

Though  there  was no place to set  a feet

All  over roaming , I searched   for Krishna

Krishna was not there  in sanctum , and

In place  of  sapthaha  lecture nor

In Place  where  dance programme   takes place

 

കുന്നിക്കുരുമണിവാരിക്കളിക്കുന്ന

ഉണ്ണിക്കിടാങ്ങളെനോക്കിനിൽക്കെ

കണ്ണനുണ്ടോകൂടെശങ്കിച്ചുനോക്കി  ഞാൻ

ഗോപാലബാലനിന്നെങ്ങുപോയി?

 

Kunni kurumani  vaari  kalikkunna

Unni  kidangale  nokki  nilke

Kannan undo  koode  , sangichu  nokki  jnan

Gopala  balan , innengu  poi

 

When I was  looking at  children

Picking up and playing  with  Kurumani

With a   doubt   whether  Krishna was  there,

I searched  every where

Where  has  this  gopala  boy   gone today.

 

ശബ്ദകോലാഹലംകേട്ടുതുലാഭാര-

ത്തട്ടിന്നടുത്തേക്കൊന്നെത്തിനോക്കി

ഒരുതട്ടിലൊരുകുഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു മറു

തട്ടിലൊരുകൊച്ചുരുളകളഭമോടെ

ഹർഷാശ്രുതൂകുന്നിതമ്മയും

മറ്റുളേളാരൽഭുതം!തട്ടു തൂങ്ങുന്നു "പാകം"

 

SAbdha  kolahalam  kettu  thulabhara

Thattinnu aduthu , okke   onnu   yethi nokki

Oru  thattil  oru kunjirikkunu , maru

Thattil  oru  kochhu  urula kalabhamode

Harashasru    thokkunnithu  ammayum

Mathoru   adbutham , thattu   thookunnu  pakam

 

Hearing    some   great  noise near,

The thulabara pan , I  bent and saw

In one one pan   one   small  baby was there

In the other pan , there was a small  ball  of kalambham

The mother  was standing  nearby  shedding  tears of joy

There  was another wonder, both  pans  were  equal

 

കളഭത്തൊടൊപ്പമായ് തൂങ്ങുന്ന

കണ്ണനെകണ്ടു!ഞാൻ മറ്റാരും കണ്ടതില്ല

കുഞ്ഞുതൃപ്പാദങ്ങൾക്കൊപ്പമായ്ചെന്നുടൻ

കണ്ണനോടാരാഞ്ഞുകാര്യമെല്ലാം

 

Kalabhathinodu   oppamayi  thoongunna

Kannane kandu jnaan , mathaarum  kandathilla

Kunju  tripadhangalkku oppamayi  chennudan

Kannanodu  aaranju   kaaryamellam

I saw  Lord Krishna  who was  balancing,

Equal   to Kalabham, no body else saw

I went the  same distance  as his tiny feet

And I enquired  with Lord Krishna  about everything

 

പൊന്നുണ്ണിയുണ്ടായ നാളിലന്നീയമ്മ

കളഭത്തുലാഭാരം ഭക്തിപൂർവ്വം

നേർന്നുപോയ് കളഭത്തിനിത്രമേൽ

ദ്രവ്യമെന്നറിയില്ല പാവത്തിനാവതില്ല

 

Ponnunni  undaaya naalil  yee amma

Kalabha   thula bharam   , bakthi poorvam

Nernnu  poi , kalabhathinnu   ithra mel

Dravyam   yennu   ariyilla, paavathinnu   aavathilla

 

On that this golden child was born  , his mother

Promised to give kalabha thulabharam  to the baby

But   she   did not know   that   for kalabham

So much  money is needed, poor  one could not afford

 

ഭക്തിയാലൂറുന്നപ്രാർത്ഥന കൈകൊണ്ടു

"ആദ്യമായീ"ത്തട്ടിൽ തൂങ്ങിഞാനും

പാവമാസാധ്വിയും മററു- കണ്ടുളേളാരും

കാര്യമറിയാതെയമ്പരന്നു

 

With   prayers   drenched  in devotion

For the  first time  sat  on the pan

Poor one  that devoteed one and all that who saw

Without knowing the matter  were  greatly  surprised

 

കണ്ണന്റെ വാൽസല്യമോർത്തോത്തുതേങ്ങി ഞാൻ

കൺതുറന്നൂ "സ്വപ്ന"മെത്ര ചിത്രം!

ഇന്നും തുടരുന്നു ശ്രീഗുരുവായൂരിൽ

കണ്ണന്റെ കാരുണ്യമെന്ന കേളി.....

 

Kannande  vaathsalyam  oarthu  thengi  jnan

Kan thurannu  ,” swapnam” yethra chithram

Innum  THudarunnu   Sri  Guruvayuril

Kannande   karunyam   yenna keli

 

Thinking   of the affection  of  Lord Krishna, I  sobbed,

I opened my eyes, what  a wonderful dream

Even today  in Guruvayur  it continues

The play  of the  mercy  of Lord  Krishna

 

കണ്ണനെ നീരാടി ച്ചൂട്ടിയണി -

യിച്ചുറക്കുന്നൊരന്തണഗേഹമൊന്നിൽ 

ജന്മാന്തരപ്രഭാപുണ്യാതിരേകത്തി

ലിത്തിരി തൂവെളിച്ചത്തിനാലെ

എത്തിയ പുണ്യത്തിളക്ക ളങ്ങനെ

നാളെനീളേതിയായ് തന്നിടേണേ .

സ്വപ്നത്തിലെങ്കിലും  കണ്ണനെ കാണുവാൻ

കൈവന്ന ഭാഗ്യത്തിൽ ഞാനലിഞ്ഞു ...

 

Kannane  neeradichittu  aniyichu

Urakkunnor , anthana  geham onnil

Janmanthara   prabha  punya  thirekathil

Ithiri   thoo   velichathi naale

Yethiya   punya  thilakkangal  angine

Naale  neelethiyai     thannidene

SWapnathil  yengilum  kannane  kaanuvaan

Kai  vanna  bhagyathil  jnan   alinju

 

In a   home  of   Brahmin, where

After bathing Krishna  , decorating him

And  putting   him   to sleep

There was  the  luster  got from  

The  blessed  inheritance over births

Tomorrow  in the  blue  dawn  please give it to me

I melted   in the   great  luck by which

I could see   Lord Krishna   at least in my dreams
