(Siram aaru  udayan- could mean  according to Tamil  poet  “Cheiku Thambi pavalar “

“ God who has  a river on his head”-Lord Shiva
or “God    who has  a different head” _lord Ganesa
Or “God who has   six heads"  Lord Subrahmanya
or  “God  who has a river  near  his head”-Lord Ranganatha
Or ”God  who has  river of blood on his head”  - son of God Jesus

An d  my friend Hariharasubramanian Venkatasubramanian has written a great  prayer  in Tamil  requesting for water and rain  from these gods. I am only trying  to  bring your attention to this great work)

Saluting  the word “ Siram arudayan”
Of  tamil poet  “Cheiku thambi pavalar”
We are    requesting God  with all  our mind
To give    us sufficient rains

Oh God   “Siram aaru  Udayan”
Oh Lord Shiva , who has   ganges on his head,
Would you  bless  us   with ample   rain,
And would you  not bless   that  ,
The dream of Bharathi  of bringing Ganges   water  to Cauvery , would  be realized.

Oh God  , “Siram  aaru udayaan”
The God  Ganesa  whose  head ,
Got changed    from human to elephant,
Would you not   help us   to remove all roadblocks,
WE who  salute  you daily    and break  coconut,
Are finding that  , even the  coconut   does not have water,
There  is no water  in the forest   and don’t  you see ,
The crowd of elephants   searching   for water  in our towns?
Would you not kindly reduce  this sweltering heat ,
And  arrange    for  very huge rain , for us and for you.

Oh God “Siram aaru  Udayan”
The Shanmukha   with six heads,
Would you not   grant us consolation,
And help us   to answer  our kids ,
When they ask, “father  what is  rain”
Would you  not  reduce  the pot-burden,
Of all our ladies     running   here and there,
For a  pot of water ,  for their entire home

Oh God  “Siram aaru  Udavyan “
Oh lord Ranganatha   who is  ,
Resting on a snake  in Sri Rangam,
About whom a poet sang,
“Oh God who has a  green mountain body”
When my  little daughter  asks  me,
“what  is this green father ? I tend to blink,
Please  cause  torrential rain , so that ,
The  river near  your head  has over flowing water

God “Siram Aarudayaan”
Lord Jesus the  god who was  drizzling  with blood  on his head,  ,
When thorn crown was put”
All my children are    asking  ,
What   is a rainbow  , we have  not seen it,
Oh Lord  “Why the doors of sky are shut,
Would not  you   shower the  water of rain.”
