Unnikku per  Mani kandan yennangine

 

Pandala king had   a  son

The son’s name was Mani kanda

 

2.Loka mayangunna kanthi yundangine

Pandala bhoopannu oru  ananda mangine

 

He had  the luster  to attract the world,

The  king of Pandala had  a joy like   that

 

3.Unnikku    vidhyakal yere yundangine

Kailaa vasanaam achan undangine

 

Unni had   very many  tricks

He has a father  who lived  in Kailasa

 

4,Vaikunta nadhanaam  oru  ammayundangine

Vighneswara  , skanda  sodarar  undangine

 

He had a mother  who is  lord of Vaikunta

He had brothers  Ganesa  and Slanda

 

5.Kali mathaavaaya   sodari yundangine

Pambara  kreedayil inbam  undangine

 

He had mother  Kali  as sister

He has interst  in playing  top

 

6,Pnthu kaliyile  chandavum undangine

Punchiri   chandrika pongumaarangane

 

He had  beauty  of playing  the ball

Like the smiling  moon rising up

 

7.Sanchara  bangi thigayuumaarangine

POnnin churika ilakki  kondangine

 

The beauty of travel came to an end in him

He was  moving the  ladder  made of gold

 

8,Abhyasa padavam kaatti kondangane

Vaavarodu othulloru angam undangine

 

He was showing his expertise  in training

The  match of swords  along  with Vavar

 

9.Anga kali  konda  bhavamundangine

Vettum  thadayum  adavum aayangine

 

He showed  his expertise  with angam

With cutting, stopping  and tricks

 

10.Trilokya   mohana leelakal undangine

Mohana gaanam  Pozhiyumaarangine

 

He had   the  attractive   sports  of the three  worlds

And was showering  pretty song  like that

 

11.Vahana yaanam thudarumaarangine

Villum sangalum  yenthi  kondangine

 

He comtinued   with   the travel on his steed

Carrying with him   the  bow and arrows

 

12Aana than masthaka meri  kondangine

Bhoomi kulukki nadathi kondangine

 

He climbed   to the yop of head of an elephant

He made it walk with   the earth  shking

 

13.Omal thiru meni kanu maaangine

Kandu kandu aanandameru marangine

 

Making us   see  his  yiung     divine body

Seeing  and seeing making joy  climb up

 

14,Van kuthira puram yeri kondangine

Naayattu leela nadathumaarangine

 

He   rode   on the huge  horses

And   showed  the  sports  of hunting

 

15,.Saadhoola   veeranil yeri kondangine

Bhakthar than vaarthayil imbavum undangine

 

Climbing i=on the valorous  panther like that

Getting sweetness  in the talk of  devotees

 

14.Peelikal cherum  kireedamundangine

AAdi vilangum   mudiyumandangine

 

He had a crown where  feathers  joined

And he also had a blowing and showing  hair

 

15.Chandana basma kuri kalum undangine

Nethiyil  kasthuri  pottumundangine

 

He had also marks  made of sandal  and sacred ash

He had a thilak made  of musk  on his forehead

 

16.Tri purikangal chalikkumaarangine

Dharaa  kadakshangal cherumaarangine

 

He had  the divine eye brows which moved

And his  flow of sights  joined  together

 

17,Pon pankajam poal thirumukamamangine

Choracha  mohana chundu mundangne

 

He had a divine face like  golden lotus

And lips which were  very bloody and pretty

 

18.Rathangal tholkkunna  danthangal  undangine

Loka m layikkunna   punchiri yundangine

 

He has teeth   which made  gems defeat

And the pretty smile  which mde  world merge

 

19.Sankham poal ulloru kandam undangine

Kandathil aallola  maalakal   angine

 

He had a neck which resembled conches

And several shaking  garlands  on his neck

 

20.Neendu urundulla bhujangal undangine

Kayyil  choorikayum   chapavum undangine

 

He had long round    back   hands

And has bow   and sword  in his hands

 

21.Neelicha kacha yuduthu   kondangine

Kaalil pulambum chilambum undangine

 

He wore  bluish   dhothis around him

And he had anklets on leg  making sound

 

22,Ponnambalathil  irikkumaarangine

Kaanum   janathinnu   kaivalumandangine

 

He would  be sitting in the golden temple

And he was  real heaven to the people   who see

 

23,Tri lokya nayakan ayyappanangine

Bhakthare   kathu vilangumaarangane

 

Thus was  Ayyappa the lord of the three  worlds

And he would be shining proteting the devotee

 

24.Jangal yellavarum  ayyan ayyappande

Tru kaalkkal veenu   vanangunnu   mangalum

 

We all of us fall and salute the  divine feet  ,

On the feet of our lord Ayyappa

Manasabheeshtam   anusarichu

 

As per   the desire  of the mind,

Of  the great  Guru  who taught  us knowledge

 

5Andhanum  , mookanum  aakunna  puthrande

Dosham agathi  koduthavan nee

 

You  are  the one who removed  the defects

Of a person   who is  blind and dumb

 

5.Yethrayo kaalamayi nirguna dhyanathil

Pathi layichu vasichirunna

 

For a  very long toime , in meditation  of property less  God,

You were  interested and meged  and lived

 

6.Baktha sabari than bandha magathi nee

Kaivalyathe  thanne nalgiyille

 

Did  you not remove   attachment of devotee Sabari,

And give  her salvation

 

7.Kalla rogarthayaam  pandyande  kaanthakkayi

Vendum puli pal    nalkeeduvaan

 

For    the pandya queen   who was feigning illness

To give the needed  tiger milk

 

8.Dasande  bhavam chamanju vanathil poyi

Sardhoola vetta   nadathiyille?

 

Did you not put on the form of a devotee

And staged the hunting for a panther?

 

9.Devakalkkundaaya bheethiyakaluvaan,

Ghora  mahishiye  konnathalle?

To remove   the fear  of the devas,

Did you not kill the   fierce  Mahishi

 

10. Inni kali  kala   bheema durithathil

Pettu kuzhangunna  jnangaleyum

 

In this  kali age  of huge  suffering

Where we have  been caught  and getting troubled

 

11.Sudhikarichu  sukhangal  aruluvaan

Sradhikka vename  Bhootha nadha

 

To purify it  and bless with pleasure

Oh Bhootha Nadha  , you have to pay   attension

 

12.Nin padha  pankajathe unnan  vembunna

Bhakthar ee  brungangale    ormma venam

 

You have  to remember   these  devotee  bees,

Which are  anxious  to eat  your lotus like  feet

 

13 Engum alanjum  valanjum peru vazhi,

THannil  urundum gathi varaathe

 

After wandering every where, getting lost  in the huge path

And rolling in    roads but not getting  redemption

 

14Thethinde  kunnin mukalil vannethiya

Jnangale paalikka, Bhaktha bandho

 

Please protect us   who have   reached  the,

Hill of errors, Oh friend  of devotees

Thinking   that it is joy  by doing  various

Acts, I got caught   and  faded

Not to jobs   which are  bound to be useless

1.Sumukha  pradhama, swa nama gayaka palaka, sevaka mangala Karaka

Kama Supooraka, Mangala Karaka, Thrahi vinayaka Bhavika  Tharaka

 

Good faced first  , he who looks after those  who sing his names, He who  does   good things to his devotees

He  who fulfills all desires, He who does good, Please protect us , the well  meaning star

 

2.Sindhura lepaka, modhaka  bhakshaka, durjana  sikshaka, nija jana  veekshaka

Ankusa  dharaka, jagadh  udharaka, loka vidharaka, samhara  karaka

 

He who applies Sindhura, who eats  modhaka  , he who punishes bad people and is  one seen by good people

He who carries a goad, who improves  the world, who reforms people  , he   who kills

 

3.Asesha karaka, saktha  vidharaka, mooshaka  vahaka, sura dhara  dahaka

Kalou sutharka, thwam hi vinayaka palaka seveka akhila kaharaka

 

He who does everything , distributes  to the strong, rides on mouse  , he who burns weight of devas,

He who reforms Kali age  , you are Vinaayaka  who looks after devotees  and does them all

 

4,.Karuna rasa  sampoorna , katakshaa  amala veekshanai

Yo anugruhnathi bhakthamsa   prasanna  sumukha  smrutha

 

He who is full of mercy  , who looks at others  with pure sight

He who blesses devotees, who has pleasant look with a  good face  that is remembered

 

5. Ye parithyajya vihitham nishidham pracharanthi they

Vakthraa   sthana thundathyesha, vakra thunda  prakeerthitha

 

He who gives up what  is due and propagates it as not desirable
Due to his curved   tusk being broken, he is famous as  one with broken tusk

 

6.Prathamam mangalayaiva, Ganesa  smaryathe  Budhai

SArva dev archithaath vaathsa, Ganesa  prathama  smrutha

 

First  the auspecious one Ganesa  is remembered   by the wise

And since he is worshipped  by all devas, First  he is remembered  as Ganesa

 

7.Smaranan nija  bhakthaanaam, sarva vighnaan nivaarya  ya

Kaamaan  pooraythi Kshipram , Ganesa  Kama  porraka

 

Remembered by true   devotees, he removes  all obstacles

He  speedily  fulfills all desires and so Ganesa is the fulfiller of desires

 

8.Nivaaraya mangalaanyaasu smaranaadh   Gana  nayaka

Karothi mangalaan yesha, thatho mangala  karaka

 

Since he avoids   problems to good results , we remember him as  Lord of Ganas

Since he does  always  good , he is consider  as doer  of good

 

9.Indraadheenaam  thu devaanaam vividha nayaka khalu

Na nayako Ganesasya kopyathoasow  Vinayaka

 

Indra and all his devas  , have  very many leaders

But there is no leader like Ganesa and that leader  vinayaka gets angry

ईशा वास्यमिदं सर्वं चक्षोः सूर्यो अजायत ।

इति श्रुतिरुवाचातो महादेवः परावरः ॥ १॥

 

eesa vasya midham sarvam , chaksho  suryo  ajayatha,

Ithi sruthi uvachatho mahadeva  paravara

 

God   envelops   every thing  which are  visible  like sun to the eyes

This   quote   from vedas is the universe  of lord shiva

 

अष्टमूर्तेरसौ सूर्यौ मूर्तित्वं परिकल्पितः ।

नेत्रत्रिलोचनस्यैकमसौ सूर्यस्तदाश्रितः ॥ २॥

 

Ashta  moortherasou suryo   morthi thwam  parikalpitha

Nethra   trilochanasyaikamasou  suryasthadasritha

 

It is imagination that the  sun god  has   eight   different forms,

The eye  of lord shiva   with  three  eyes depends  on lord surya

 

यस्य भासा सर्वमिदं विभातीदि श्रुतेरिमे ।

तमेव भान्तमीशानमनुभान्ति खगादयः ॥ ३॥

 

Yasya bhasaa  sarvamidham vibhatheedhi srutherime

ThamevA  bhntha meesaana  manu bhaanthi khagadhaya

 

Its  luster  lights everything and is told in Vedas

Which is like God and is similar  to the   birds

 

ईशानः सर्वविद्यानां भूतानां चेति च श्रुतेः ।

वेदादीनामप्यधीशः स ब्रह्मा कैर्न पूज्यते ॥ ४॥

 

EEsana sarva vidhyaanaam bhothaanaam chethi cha  sruthe

Vedhaadheenaam  apya   adheesa sa   brahma kairna  poojyathe

 

God  is all learning which is heard and learnt by all beings

Who  will not worship  Brahma, the owner  of all vedas

 

यस्य संहारकाले तु न किञ्चिदवशिष्यते ।

सृष्टिकाले पुनः सर्वं स एकः सृजति प्रभुः ॥ ५॥

 

yasya  samhara  kaale thu nA kinchid  avasishyadhe

Srushti kaale  sarvam sa  yeka   srujathi  prabhu

 

At time of destruction, nothing would be  remaining

And at  time of creation, everything will be made  as one by the lord

 

 

सूर्याचद्रमसौ धाता यथापूर्वमकल्पयत् ।

इति श्रुतेर्महादेवः श्रेष्ठोऽर्यः सकलाश्रितः ॥ ६॥

 

Surya  chandramasou  dhathaa yadhaa poorvam  akalpayath

Ithi  Sruther Mahadeva Sreshtorya sakalasritha

 

The one  who gives the sun and moon , has been  as imagined  early

Like this Lord Shiva  in Vedas specially depends on all

 

विश्वं भूतं भवद्भयं सर्वं रुद्रात्मकं श्रुतम् ।

मृत्युञ्जयस्तारकोऽतः स यज्ञस्य प्रसाधनः ॥ ७॥

 

Viswam bhootham  bhavadwayam   sarva rudrathmakam srutham

Mruthyajaya sthaara ko atha sa  yajnasya   prasadhana

 

The universe and all beings , has been told as  all the soul of Rudhra

THe star  which wins over death is  the one decorating  Yajna

 

विषमाक्षोऽपि समदृक् सशिवोऽपि शिवः स च ।

वृषसंस्थोऽध्यतिवृषो गुणात्माऽप्यगुगुणोऽमलः ॥ ८॥

 

Vishama  akshopi samaddhruk sa shivopi , shiva sa cha

Vrusha samstho adhyathi   vrusho gunaathamaa apya guguno amala

 

THe three eyed one also sees equally and Shiva  is also  peace only

Even if we study all  lightning, the soul of  lightning  has only good pure  qualities

 

यदाज्ञामुद्वहन्त्यत्र शिरसा सासुराः सुराः ।

अभ्रं वातो वर्षं इतीषवो यस्य स विश्वपाः ॥ ९॥

 

yadh aajnaa mudhvahan yathra  sirasaa saasura   suraa

Abhram  vatho varsha itheeshavo yasya   sa  viswapaa

 

His  order   is carried out by head by devas and asuras

The  steam of the cloud is the  one created  by sun god

 

भिषक्रमं त्वा भिषजां श‍ृणोमीति श्रुतेरवम् ।

स्वभक्तसंसारमहारोगहर्ताऽपि शङ्करः ॥ १०॥

 

Bhishakram  thwaa  bhishajaam  srunomithi  sretheravam

Swa baktha  samsara maha roga harthopi  Sankara

 

The  healer  would treat  you after hearing you and as per laws of Vedas

The    world of devotees consider  healer of even leprosy   as  Lord Shiva
