விளக்கே திரு விளக்கே வேந்தன்  உடன் பிறப்பே !

ஜோதி மணிவிளக்கு ஶ்ரீ தேவி பொன்மணியே

அந்தி விளக்கே  அலங்கார நாயகியே

காந்தி விளக்கே காமாட்சி தாயாரே

 

Vilakke , thiru vilakke, vendhan udan  pirappe

Jothi  mani vilakku, sri devi  pon maniye

Anthi vilakke , Alankara nayagiye

Kanthi vilakke Kamakshi thayare

 

Oh lamp, oh divine lamp, the  royal  sibling

Oh lustrous  jeweled lamp, Oh Sri Devi , Oh golden gem

Oh lamp of the night, oh well  made  up lady

Oh lustrous lamp, oh  mother  Kamakshi

 

பசும்பொன் விளக்கு வைத்து பஞ்சு திரி போட்டு

குளம் போல எண்ணெய் விட்டு கோலமுடன் ஏற்றி வைத்தேன்

ஏற்றினேன் திருவிளக்கு எந்தன் குடி விளங்க

வைத்தேன் திரு விளக்கு மாளிகையும்தான் விளங்க

மாளிகையில் ஜோதியுள்ள மாதாவைக்கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தேன்

மாங்கல்ய பிச்சை மடிபிச்சை தாரும் அம்மா

 

Pasum pon  vilakku vaithu panju thiri pottu

Kulam poala yennai vittu, kolamudan   yetri vaithen

Yetrinen Thiru vilakku , yen kudi  vilanga

Vaithen  thiruvilakku , malikayum  thaan vilanga

Malikayil jothiyulla mathavai  kandu magizhndhen

Mangalya pichai , madi pichai  tharum amma

 

Keping   the lamp of unalloyed gold, putting a cotton wick,

Pouring  pond like oil, Ilit it up with a rangoli

I lit the  divine lamp  , so that my clan  will prosper

I kept  the divine lamp so that  the mansion will prosper

I saw   the mother  of luster  in the mansion  and became happy

Oh mother give me alms of life along with husband  and wealth of  children

 

சந்தானபாக்யமுடன் தனங்களும் தாரும் அம்மா

பெட்டி நிறைய பூஷணங்கள் தாரும் அம்மா

பட்டி நிறைய பால் பசுவைத் தாரும் அம்மா

கொட்டகை நிறைய குதிரைகள் தாரும் அம்மா

அல்லும் பகலும் எந்தன் அண்டையிலே நில்லும் அம்மா

பதினாறு முறை நமஸ்காரம் பண்ணனும் .

சேவித்து எழுந்தேன் தேவி வடிவம் கண்டேன்

 

Santana  bhagyamudan  dhanangalum   thaarum amma

Petti niraya bhooshangal thaarum Amma

Patti niraya paal  pasuvai  thaarum amma

Kottakai niraya kuthiraikal  thaarum amma

Allum pagalum yenthan  andayile nillum amma

Pathinaaru murai  namaskaram  pannanum

Sevithu   yezhunthen, devi vadivam  kanden

 

Grant me luck of having child  as well as wealth  , oh mother

Please give me one full box of ornaments , oh mother

Please grant me shed full of milking cows  , oh mother

Please grant me  horse shed full of horses, oh mother

Please stand  my side  all twenty four hours  , oh mother

I will have to salute  you sixteen times

 

சேவித்து எழுந்தேன் தேவி வடிவம் கண்டேன்

கமலத்திருமுகத்தில் கஸ்தூரி பொட்டுகண்டேன்

காலில் சிலம்பு கண்டேன் காலாளி பீலி கண்டேன்

மங்கள நாயகியே மனங்குளிரநான் கண்டேன்

அடியாள்நான் அன்னையே அருகிருந்து காரும் அம்மா

 

SEvithu  yezhunthen , devi vadivam kanden

Kamala thiru mukhathil kasthuri pottu  kanden

Kalil  chilambu kanden , kaalaali  peeli  kanden

Mangala nayakiye  manam kulira  naan  kanden

Adiyaal naan , angirunthu   kaaarum   amma

 

I saluted   and rose up and saw  the form of the goddess
I saw musk thilak  in her lotus  like face.

I saw anklet  on her legs, I  saw ring on her toes and the peacock feather

Oh Auspecious goddess, I saw you till my mind became cool

I  am your slave, Oh mother  protect me from   there  itself

 

கோடிகாராம்பசுவைக்கன்றுடனே கொண்டுவந்து

கொம்புக்கு பொன்னமைத்துகுளம்புக்கு வெள்ளிகட்டி

கங்கைகரை தனில்கிரஹண புண்ய காலத்தில்

வாலுருவி அந்தணர்க்கு   மஹாதானம் செய்த

பலன் நான்கொடுப்பேன் என்று ஶ்ரீ தேவி தானுரைக்க

அப்படியே ஆகவென்று திருமால் அறிக்கையிட்டார்

அப்படியே ஏற்றுதொழுதவர்கள் அற்புதமாய்

வாழ்ந்திடுவோம் பரதேவி தன்னருளால் !!

இந்த பாடலை விளக்கேற்றி சொன்னால் மிகவும் நல்லது.

 

KOdi  kaaram pasuvai  kandrudane  kondu vanthu

KOmbukku  pon amaithu, kulambukku velli ketti

Gangai karai thanil, grahana  punya kalathil

Vaal uruvi Anthanarkku maha dhanam cheitha

Palan naan koduppen Yendru devi thaan uraikka,

Appadiya aaka vendru Thirumal  arikkayi ittar

Appadiye yethru  thozhuthavarkal arpudhamai

Vaazhnthiduvom Paradevi  than arulaal

 

Yi padalai  vilaketri  chonnal  mikavum nallathu

 

Then the goddess  said, I will give  you  the effect

Of bringing one crore milch cows  along with its calves

Tie gold on their horns and silver   on their hooves

And give it as great charity  to Brahmins

In the shores of ganges at the auspicious eclipse time

And the god Vishnu gave an announcement  , let it be like that”

And those  who accepted that   as such and saluted

Wouldlive wonderfully due to blessing  of divine goddess

 

If we light the lamp and recite this song it is very good
