Narayaneya Sahasranamam(Also known as Guruvayurappa SAhasra namam)

 

Narayaneeya Sahasranama is a condensed form of Narayaneeyam consisting of 1000 names of Vishnu. It is carefully created sangraha, of all the namas (names) of that appear sequentially and chapterwise in the Narayaneeyam

With the crown brighter than the Sun God,
The shining forehead with the long thilaka,
The eyes from which mercy flows and ebbs,
The shine of the smile which is comforting,
The pretty nose, the cheeks which are reflecting your ear studs,
The Kousthubha gem which adds to the shine of the neck,
And forest and golden bead garlands and the Sri Vathsa.

He who is brainy , Madhava  , The illusionist  , he who is  beyond respectability  , He who is great luster

രോഗപാവകദഗ്ധാനാമമൃതസ്യന്ദദായകഃ ।
ഗതിസ്സമസ്തലോകാനാം ഗണനാതീതവൈഭവഃ ॥ 6 ॥

 

Rogapavaka , dagdha namaamrutha syandha  dhayaka

Gathi samastha lokaanaam  , gananaatheetha  vaibhavaa

He who pacifies fire like disease  , he who gives nectar  , he who gives like a stream

He who is the final directior of all peoplr , he who has inestimable  greatness

 

മരുദ്ഗണസമാരാധ്യോ മാരുതാഗാരവാസകഃ ।
പാലകസ്സര്‍വലോകാനാം പൂരകസ്സര്‍വകര്‍മണാം ॥ 7 ॥

 

Marudh gana  samaaraadhyo   maaruthagaara  vasaka

Palaka sarva lokaanaam   , pooraka  sarva  karmaanaam

 

He who is worshipped  by all Marudhs, He who lives  in house of wind

He who looks after all worlds, he who completes all jobs

 

കുരുവിന്ദമണീബദ്ധദിവ്യമാലാവിഭൂഷിതഃ ।
രുക്മഹാരാവലീലോലവക്ഷഃശോഭാവിരാജിതഃ ॥ 8 ॥

 

Kuruvindha manee  badha  dhivya  malaa  vibhooshitha

Rukma  haaraa  valee   lola   vaksha   shobha virajitha

 

He who is decorated  with  divine garland studded  with rubies

He whose chest shines   due to  moving chain of Gold

 

സൂര്യകോടിപ്രഭാഭാസ്വദ്ബാലഗോപാലവിഗ്രഹഃ ।
രത്നമായൂരപിഞ്ഛോദ്യത്സൌവര്‍ണമുകുടാഞ്ചിതഃ ॥ 9 ॥

 

Surya koti  prabha  bhaswad  bala gopala vigraha

Rathna  maayura  pinchodhya sauvarna makutanchitha

 

He who has form of child Krishna which shines  like one crore suns

He who wears a golden crown studded with gems and  peacock feather

 

കാളാംബുദരുചിസ്പര്‍ധികേശഭാരമനോഹരഃ ।
മാലേയതിലകോല്ലാസിഫാലബാലേന്ദുശോഭിതഃ ॥ 10 ॥

 

Kalambudha   ruchi spardhee kesa  bhara  manohara

Maaleya   thilakollasi   phala baleindu   shobhitha

 

He who  is greatly  interested in fresh butter  , He who is pretty  with heavy hair

He who shines with garland , thilaka  on forehead  and the crescent of moon

 

ആര്‍തദീനകഥാലാപദത്തശ്രോത്രദ്വയാന്വിതഃ ।
ഭ്രൂലതാചലനോദ്ഭൂതനിര്‍ധൂതഭുവനാവലിഃ ॥ 11 ॥

 

Aartha  Dheena  kadha  aalaapa datha  srothra   dhvayanvitha

Brullathaa  chalano adbutha  , nirdhootha  Bhuvanavali

 

He who using his gven two ears , hears  the cry  of the suffering  poor

He who moves his eyes wonderfully  when he hears  the suffering of the world

 

ഭക്തതാപപ്രശമനപീയുഷസ്യന്ദിലോചനഃ ।
കാരുണ്യസ്നിഗ്ധനേത്രാന്തഃ കാങ്ക്ഷിതാര്‍ഥപദായകഃ ॥ 12 ॥

 

BHaktha thapa prasamana, peeyusha syandhi  lochana

KarunyA snigdha  nethra, antha   kamkshithartha padhayaka

 

He who  pacifies sufferings of devotees, he who has eyes  applied with nectar

He whose   eyes are glued with mercy  , He who fulfils desire  of those  dying

 

അനോപമിതസൌഭാഗ്യനാസാഭങ്ഗിവിരാജിതഃ ।
മകരമത്സ്യസമാകാരരത്നകുണ്ഡലഭൂഷിതഃ ॥ 13 ॥

 

Anopamitha saubhagya, naasaa  bhangi virajitha,

Makara  mathsya samaakaaraa rathna  kundala  Bhooshithaa

 

He who grants limitless  luck  , He who shines  with nose  ornaments

He who is decorated  with  ear globes made of gems prepared by dolphin fish

 

ഇന്ദ്രനീലശിലാദര്‍ശഗണ്ഡമണ്ഡലമണ്ഡിതഃ ।
ദന്തപങ്ക്തിദ്വയോദ്ദീപ്തദരസ്മേരമുഖാംബുജഃ ॥ 14 ॥

 

Indra neela silaa darsa ganda  mandala manditha

Dantha pankhthi  dwayo dheeptha  dhara smera  mukhambuja

 

He  whose  neck space  is decorated by sapphire and shines

He who has a  shining face with  two rows  of teeth

 

മന്ദസ്മിതപ്രഭാമുഗ്ധസര്‍വദേവഗണാവൃതഃ ।
പക്വബിംബഫലാധര ഓഷ്ഠകാന്തിവിലാസിതഃ ॥ 15 ॥

 

Mandasmitha  prabha  mugdha , sarva  deva ganavrutha

Pakwa  bimba phalaadhara, oshta  kanthi vilasitha

 

He who is lovely  with  shine  of his smile  , He who is surrounded  by all devas

He whose lower  lips are like  ripe fruits  , He who shines  with luster  of his lips

 

സൌന്ദര്യസാരസര്‍വസ്വചിബുകശ്രീവിരാജിതഃ ।
കൌസ്തുഭാഭാലസത്കണ്ഠഃ വന്യമാലാവലീവൃതഃ ॥ 16 ॥

 

Saundarya  saara  saraswa   , chibuka   sri  virajitha

Kaushtubhaa bala  sath kanta , vanya  malavali  vrutha

 

He who has everything  as meaning of beauty, He who has  a chin that shines,

He who  has a shining gem hanging from neck , He who wears a forest  garland

 

മഹാലക്ഷ്മീസമാവിഷ്ടശ്രീവത്സാങ്കിതവക്ഷസഃ ।
രത്നാഭരണശോഭാഢ്യോ രമണീയകശേവധിഃ ॥ 17 ॥

 

Mahalakshmi  Samavishta, Sri Vathsangitha  Vakshasaa

Rathnabharana   Shobhadyo , Ramaneeyaka  shevadhi

 

He who sits with  Mahalakshmi , He who has sri vathsa  on his chest

He who shines with Gem ornaments, he who has pretty  Jewels(treasure)

 

വലയാങ്ഗദകേയുരകമനീയഭുജാന്വിതഃ ।
വേണുനാളീലസദ്ധസ്തഃ പ്രവാളാങ്ഗുലിശോഭിതഃ ॥ 18 ॥

 

Valayangadha   keyura  , kamaneeya  bhujanvithaa

Venu  naalela  sadhastha, pravanguli   shobhitha

 

He who has armlet  on his cherished limb  , He  who has  very pretty hands

He who has bamboo  flute   in his hands  , he whose leading finger shines

 

ചന്ദനാഗരുകാശ്മീരകസ്തൂരീകളഭാഞ്ചിതഃ ।
അനേകകോടിബ്രഹ്മാണ്ഡസങ്ഗൃഹീതമഹോദരഃ ॥ 19 ॥

 

Chandanagaru kasmeera kasthuri kalabanchitha

Aneka koti Brahamada sangraheetha  mahodhara

 

He who applies  Sandal , musk from Kashmir  and sandal paste

He who has huge  belly having several crores  of universe

 

കൃശോദരഃ പീതചേലാപരിവീതകടീതടഃ ।
ബ്രഹ്മാവാസമഹാപദ്മാവാലനാഭിപ്രശോഭിതഃ ॥ 20 ॥

 

Krusodhara , peetha  chelaa pari veetha  katee thata

Brahma  vaasa maha padmaa vala  nabhi prasobhitha

 

He who has a  thin stomach  wears a yellow dress  over his waist

He who shines with a belly button holding the great lotus where  Lord bRahma lives

 

പദ്മനാഭോ രമാകാന്തഃ ഫുല്ലപദ്മനിഭാനനഃ ।
രശനാദാമസന്നദ്ധഹേമവസ്ത്രപരിച്ഛദഃ ॥ 21 ॥

 

Padmanaabho, Rema Kantha  , phulla padhma nibhanana

Rasanaa  dhama sannadha  hema vasthra  parichadha

 

The one with lotus on belly, husband  of Lakshmi , He who carries a fully open lotus

He  who is ready  glorious toungue  , He who wears  a  golden cloth

 

ഗോപസ്ത്രീഹൃദയോന്‍മാഥികോമളോരുദ്വയാന്വിതഃ ।
നീലാശ്മപേടകാകാരജാനുദ്വന്ദ്വമനോഹരഃ ॥ 22 ॥

 

Gopa sthree  hrudayonmadhi , komalooru dhwayanvitha

Neelasma  petakaa karaa , Jaanu dwandwa manohara

 

He who made mind of Gopis mad, He who had two pretty shanks

He who had  blue stone    box, He who has two pretty thighs

 

കാമതുണീരസങ്കാശചാരുജങ്ഘാവിശോഭിതഃ ।
നമജ്ജനസമസ്താര്‍തിഹാരിപാദദ്വയാന്വിതഃ ॥ 23 ॥

 

Kama thooneera  samkhasa , charu  jangha  vishobitha

Nama  jana samastha aarthi  haari , Pada dhwayanvitha

 

He who is like  the quiver  of Manmatha , He who shines with pretty shanks

He who destroys all troubles  who salute, He who has two feet

 

വൈദ്യനാഥപ്രണമിതഃ വേദവേദാങ്ഗകാരകഃ ।
സര്‍വതാപപ്രശമനഃ സര്‍വരോഗനിവാരകഃ ॥ 24 ॥

 

Vaidhyanatha  pranamitha , veda  vedanga  karaka

SArva  thapa prasamanaa, sarva  roga nivaraka

 

He who made  Vedas and Vedangas  and was  saluted by  God Vaidhyanadha

He who pacifies all sufferings , He who cures all diseases

 

സര്‍വപാപപ്രമോചകഃ ദുരിതാര്‍ണവതാരകഃ ।
ബ്രഹ്മരൂപഃ സൃഷ്ടികര്‍താ വിഷ്ണുരൂപഃ പരിത്രാതാ ॥ 25 ॥

Sarva papa  pramochaka, duritharnava  tharaka

Brahma  roopa Srushti karthaa , Vishnu roopa parithraathaa

 

He who saves  us from all sins , He who makes us cross  the ocean of  great troubles

He who as Brahma  does creation, He who as Vishnu is the saviour

 

ശിവരൂപഃ സര്‍വദക്ഷഃ ക്രിയാഹീനഃ പരംബ്രഹ്മഃ ।
വികുണ്ഠലോകസംവാസീ വൈകുണ്ഠോ വരദോ വരഃ ॥ 26 ॥

 

Shiva roopa sarva  Daksha , kriya henaa  param brahma

Vikunta  loka samvaasi , Vaikunto varadha  vara

 

He who in the form shiva  punishes all , the para Brahma  without any work

He who lives Vaikunta, He the divine boon giver  of Vaikunta

 

സത്യവ്രതതപഃപ്രീതഃ ശിശുമീനസ്വരൂപവാന്‍ ।
മഹാമത്സ്യത്വമാപന്നോ ബഹുധാവര്‍ധിതഃ സ്വഭൂഃ ॥ 27 ॥

 

SAthya vritha  thapa  preethaa , Shishu  meena swaroopavaan

Maha mathsya  thwamapanno  , bahudha vardhitha  swabhu

 

He who likes , truth  abstinence  and penanceHe who took the form of baby fish

He who became great fish by growing   greatly  himself

 

വേദശാസ്ത്രപരിത്രാതാ ഹയഗ്രീവാസുരഹാരകഃ ।
ക്ഷീരാബ്ധിമഥനാധ്യക്ഷഃ മന്ദരച്യുതിരോധകഃ ॥ 28 ॥

 

Veda sasthra  parithraathaa Hayagreevaasura  haaraka

Ksheerabdhi   madhanadhyaksha  , Mandhara  chyuthi  Rodhaka

 

He who saved Vedas and sastras  , he  who killed Hayagreevasura

He who presided over churning of milk ocean , he who prevented  mandhara  mountain from falling

 

ധൃതമഹാകൂര്‍മവപുഃ മഹാപതഗരൂപധൃക് ।
ക്ഷീരാബ്ധിമഥനോദ്ഭൂതരത്നദ്വയപരിഗ്രഹഃ ॥ 29 ॥

 

DRutha maha koorma vapu maha pathga roopa druk,

Ksheerabdhi  madhana , adhbutha, rathna  dhwaya  parigruhaa

 

He who took the form of huge turtle  , He who took the form of a huge bird

He who churned ocean of milk   and  took from it two wonderful  gems

 

ധന്വന്തരീരൂപധാരീ സര്‍വരോഗചികിത്സകഃ ।
സമ്മോഹിതദൈത്യസങ്ഘഃ മോഹിനീരൂപധാരകഃ ॥ 30 ॥

 

 

Dhanwanthari roopa dhari  ,sarva roga  chikithsaka

Sammohitha   daithya  sangha  mohinee  roopa dharka

 

He who took the form of Dhanvanthari , he who treated  all diseases

For bewitching  the group of asuras , he who took the form of Mohini

 

കാമേശ്വരമനസ്ഥൈര്യനാശകഃ കാമജന്‍മദഃ ।
യജ്ഞവാരാഹരൂപാഢ്യഃ സമുദ്ധൃതമഹീതലഃ ॥ 31 ॥

 

Kameswara  mana sthairya  nasaka , kama janmadha

Yajna varaaha  roopadyaa  , samudrutha  mahee thala

 

He who as god of love   destroyed  the determination of the mind  , He who took form of Manmadha

He who took  form of Yajna boar    and lifted  earth from ocean

 

ഹിരണ്യാക്ഷപ്രാണഹാരീ ദേവതാപസതോഷകഃ ।
ഹിരണ്യകശിപുക്രൌര്യഭീതലോകാഭിരക്ഷകഃ ॥ 32 ॥

 

Hiranyaksha  prana haari, deva thapa sathoshaka

Hiranya  kasipu krourya bheetha  lokabhi rakshaka

 

He who killed Hiranyaksha  and  made suffering devas happy

He  who took  fierce fearful form  against Hiranya kasipu and saved the world

 

നാരസിംഹവപുഃ സ്ഥൂലസടാഘട്ടിതഖേചരഃ ।
മേഘാരാവപ്രതിദ്വന്ദ്വിഘോരഗര്‍ജനഘോഷകഃ ॥ 33 ॥

 

Naarasimha  vapu  sthoola  sataghattitha  khechara

Megharava  prathi  dhwandhwi  ghora  garjana  ghoshaka

 

Taking the forn  of Narasimh  he who  killed the huge well built demon

Against the huge sound made by cloud, he  who gave a  fierce roar

 

വജ്രക്രൂരനഖോദ്ഘാതദൈത്യഗാത്രപ്രഭേദകഃ ।
അസുരാസൃഗ്വസാമാംസലിപ്തഭീഷണരൂപവാന്‍ ॥ 34 ॥

 

Vajra kroora nakhod ghatha  daithya  gathra prabhedhaka

ASurasygwasaa  mamsa liptha  beeshana  roopavaan

 

Using  his diamond cruel nails, he who split open body of an  asura

Tearing his belly  he who took the flesh  and he who took fierce form by  smearing it

 

സന്ത്രസ്തദേവര്‍ഷിസങ്ഘഃ ഭയഭീതജഗത്ത്രയഃ ।
പ്രഹ്ലാദസ്തുതിസന്തുഷ്ടഃ ശാന്തഃ ശാന്തികരഃ ശിവഃ ॥ 35 ॥

 

Santhrastha devarshi sangha bhaya  bheetha  jagat thraya

Prahladha sthuthi santhushta, santha   santhikara  shiva

 

Trembling groups  of sages   and devas, where  greatly scared in all  the three  worlds

Then  becoming happy  with prayer  of Prahladha he became peaceful   and made Shiva peaceful

 

ദേവഹൂതീസുതഃ പ്രാജ്ഞഃ സാങ്ഖ്യയോഗപ്രവാചകഃ ।
മഹര്‍ഷിഃ കപിലാചാര്യഃ ധര്‍മാചാര്യകുലോദ്വഹഃ ॥ 36 ॥

 

Deva hoothi sutha prajna   sankhya  yoga  pravachaka

Maharshi  kapilacharya  dharmaa  charya  , kulodhwaha

Roga  peeda  prasamana  daurbhagya dhwantha bhaskara

 

He  who  had  the greatness  of his feet being remembered for making  us cross ocean of Samsara

കാനനാവാസസന്തുഷ്ടഃ വന്യഭോജനതോഷിതഃ ।
ദുഷ്ടരാക്ഷസസംഹര്‍താ മുനിമണ്ഡലപൂജിതഃ ॥ 49 ॥

 

Kanana  vasa  santhushta , vanya  bhojana  Thoshitha

Dushta  Rakshasa  samharthaa  , muni  mandla poojitha

 

He who was contended  to live in forest  , he who liked   food of the forest

He who killed   the evil Rakshasas, He who was  worshipped  by the sages

 

കാമരൂപാശൂര്‍പണഖാനാസാകര്‍ണവികൃന്തകഃ ।
ഖരമുഖാസുരമുഖ്യാനാമസങ്ഖ്യബലനാശകഃ ॥ 50 ॥

 

Kamaroopaa  soorpanakhaa nasa karna   vikrunthaka,

Khara  mukhasura  mukhyaa nama   sankhyaa  bala nasaka

 

He  who got cut the nose  and ear  of Sorrpanakha  who can take any form,

Jarasandhasya  mruthyu kari , Sisupala  gathi  pradha

 

He who cut off  head  of king of Kasi  , he who made Sudakshina  in to ash,

He  who was cause  of death  of Jarasandha, He who showed Sisupala  his way

 

സാല്വപ്രാണാപഹാരീ ച ദന്തവക്ത്രാഭിഘാതകഃ ।

Saalwa pranapa haari cha dantha  vakthrabhi  gathaka,

Yudhishtro upadheshtaa   cha Bheema sena  priyankara

He who stole life of Salwa , He who was killer  of Dantha Vakthra

He who was advisor  of Yudhishtra   ,  He who was dear  to  Bheemasena

 

അര്‍ജുനാഭിന്നമൂര്‍തിശ്ച മാദ്രീപുത്രഗുരുസ്തഥാ ।
ദ്രൌപദീരക്ഷകശ്ചൈവ കുന്തീവാത്സല്യഭാജനഃ ॥ 83 ॥

 

Arjuna  bhinna moorthischa  ,madhri puthra guru sthadhaa

Darupadhi rakshakaschaiva, kunthi vathsalya bhajana

 

He who had  differences  with arjuna  , the guru  to son’s of Madhri

The  protector of Draupadhji  , he  who was very dear  person of Kunthi

 

കൌരവക്രൌര്യസന്ദഷ്ടപാഞ്ചാലീശോകനാശകഃ ।
കൌന്തേയദൂതസ്തേജസ്വീ വിശ്വരൂപ്രപദര്‍ശകഃ ॥ 84 ॥

 

Kaurava  krourya sandhashtaa, panchali  soka nasaka

Kauntheya   dhootha  thejaswi , viswa roopa  pradharsaka

 

He who nipped cruelty of Kauravas , He who destroyed sorrow  of Panchali

He who was the shining messenger of sons of Kunthi , He who   showed his mega super form

 

നിരായുധോ നിരാതങ്കോ ജിഷ്ണുസൂതോ ജനാര്‍ദനഃ ।
ഗീതോപദേഷ്ടാ ലോകേശഃ ദുഃഖമൌഢ്യനിവാരകഃ ॥ 85 ॥

 

Nirayudho , Nirathango, jishnu  sutho  janardhana

Geethopadheshtaa  , lokesa  , Dukha  moudya  nivaraka

 

He who had no weapon  ,He who did not have worries, He who was  janardhana  the son of the victor,

He who taught  Geetha, He who was lord of the world  , he who avoided stupidity due  to sorrow

 

ഭീഷ്മദ്രോണദ്രൌണികര്‍ണാദ്യഗ്നിജ്വാലാപ്രശാമകഃ ।
കുചേലപത്നീദാരിദ്ര്യദുഃഖബാധാവിമോചകഃ ॥ 86 ॥

 

BHeeshma drona  drouni  karnadhya agni  jwala  prasaamaka

Kuchela pathni  daridrya   dukha  Badha  vimochaka

 

He who managed  Bheeshma and Drona  , He who put out the flame like fire of Karna

He who freed the wife of Kuchela from suffering  due  to poverty

 

അജഃ കാലവിധാതാ ച ആര്‍തിഘ്നഃ സര്‍വകാമദഃ ।
അനലോ അവ്യയോ വ്യാസഃ അരുണാനുജവാഹനഃ ॥ 87 ॥

 

Aja kala vidhatha cha   aarthigna   sarva kamadha

Analo  avyayo   vyasa , arunanuja  vahana

 

He who was not born, He who wasthe god of god of death , he who destroyed sorrow  , He who fulfilled all desires

He who was fire  , He who did not decay  , He who was Sage Vyasa  , He who had Garuda  as steed

 

അഖിലഃ പ്രാണദഃ പ്രാണഃ അനിലാത്മജസേവിതഃ ।
ആദിഭൂത അനാദ്യന്തഃ ക്ഷാന്തിക്ലാന്തിവിവര്‍ജിതഃ ॥ 88 ॥

 

Akhila  pranadha prana  , anilathmaja  sevitha

Aadhi bhootha  Anadhyanthaa Kshanthi klanthi vivarjitha

 

He who was soul of all beings, He who was served by  Lord Subrahmanya

ഉത്തമഃ സത്തമോ ഉഗ്ര ഉദാനഃ പ്രാണരൂപകഃ ।
വ്യാനാപാനോ സമാനശ്ച ജീവമൃത്യുവിഭാജകഃ ॥ 90 ॥

ഋതംഭരോ ഋതുധരഃ സപ്തര്‍ഷിഗണസേവിതഃ ॥ 91 ॥

ഓജസ്കരോ ഓഷധീശോ ഓഡ്രമാലാവിഭൂഷിതഃ ॥ 93 ॥

 

Aindhano   yeshaneeyascha   anulangitha  sasana

Oajaskaro  , oshadheeso   , odra  mala   vibhooshitha

 

He who was the fuel  , He who was desirable  , He who was  unbroken law

ഔഷധഃ സര്‍വതാപാനാം സമാനാധിക്യവര്‍ജിതഃ ।
കാലഭൃത്കാലദോഷഘ്നഃ കാര്യജ്ഞഃ കര്‍മകാരകഃ ॥ 94 ॥

 

Oushadha  sarva  thaapaanam   samanadhikya   varjitha

Kala bruth  , kala  doshagna , karyajna, karma karaka

 

He who was medicine for all sufferings, He who avaoided making every thing same

He who made time  , He who destroyed problems due to time  , He who was an expert in doing jobs  , He  who made duty

 

ഖഡ്ഗീ ഖണ്ഡകഃ ഖദ്യോതഃ ഖലീ ഖാണ്ഡവദാഹകഃ ।
ഗദാഗ്രജോ ഗദാപാണീ ഗംഭീരോ ഗര്‍വനാശകഃ ॥ 95 ॥

 

Kadgi  , khandaka  , khadhyotha  khalee   khandava   dahaka

Gadhagrajo, Gadhaa  pani  , Gambgheero  , garva  nasaka

 

He who held sword, he  who used to cut  , he who was Sun  , He who was oil cake  , He  who burnt  Khandava  forest

He who was  first to have mace  , He who held a mace  , He who was deep  , He who destroyed pride 

 

ഘനവര്‍ണോ ഘര്‍മഭാനുഃ ഘടജന്‍മനമസ്കൃതഃ ।
ചിന്താതീതഃ ചിദാനന്ദഃ വിശ്വഭ്രമണകാരകഃ ॥ 96 ॥

He who was of dark colour, who was hot sun   he who was prayed to by one  born out of pot

ഛന്ദകഃ ഛന്ദനഃ ഛന്നഃ ഛായാകാരകഃ ദീപ്തിമാന്‍ ।
ജയോ ജയന്തോ വിജയോ ജ്ഞാപകഃ ജ്ഞാനവിഗ്രഹഃ ॥ 97 ॥

Jayo, Jayantho , vijayo   jnapaka  jnana  vigraha

 

He  who  allured , He who was sandalwood , He who was hiding  , he who created shadows, He who is lustrous

He who won   , He who was  the moon  , He who was victory  , He who had form  He who remembered aHe who was  wise

 

ഝര്‍ഝരാപന്നിവാരകഃ ഝണജ്ഝണിതനൂപുരഃ ।
ടങ്കടീകപ്രണമിതഃ ഠക്കുരോ ദംഭനാശകഃ ॥ 98 ॥

 

Jharjhara aapan nnivaraka  , janamjanitha nupura

Sangateeka  pranamitha, dakkuro, dhambha nasaka 

 

He who avoided  danger  of decay  , He who wore anklets  which created jhan jhan sound

He who organized , He who was saluted, He who wore toe ornament which shined

 

തത്ത്വാതീതസ്തത്ത്വമൂര്‍തിഃ തത്ത്വചിന്താപ്രചോദകഃ ।
ദക്ഷോ ദാതാ ദയാമൂര്‍തിഃ ദാശാര്‍ഹോ ദീര്‍ഘലോചനഃ ॥ 99 ॥

 

Thathwaatheethas thathwa moorthi , thathwa  chintha  prachodaka

Daksho, Dhaathaa , Dhayaa moorthi  daasaarho  , deerga lochana

 

He who was beyond philosophy , he who was form of philosophy, He who encouraged you to think  according to philosophy

He who was able  , He who was a giver  , He who was form of kindness , He who merited the  devotees , He who had a long eye

 

പരാജിഷ്ണുഃ പരന്ധാമഃ പരാനന്ദസുഖ്രപദഃ ।
ഫാലനേത്രഃ ഫണിശായീ പുണ്യാപുണ്യഫലപ്രദഃ ॥ 100 ॥

 

Parajishnu  , parandhama  paranandha  sukha  pradha

Phala nethra, Phanee saayi  , punyaa punya  phala pradha

നന്ദകീ ചക്രപാണിശ്ച പാഞ്ചജന്യപ്രഘോഷകഃ ॥ 108 ॥

രോഗഘ്നഃ സര്‍വപാപഘ്നഃ കര്‍മദോഷഭയാപഹഃ ।
ഗഭസ്തിമാലീ ഗര്‍വഘ്നോ ഗര്‍ഗശിഷ്യോ ഗവപ്രിയഃ ॥ 166 ॥

 

Rogaghno , sarva papagna  , karma dosha  bhayapahaa

Gabhasthimali   , garvagno  , garga   sishyo  Gava priya

 

He who cured diseases, destroyed  all sins, who removed fear  of doing wrong karma

He who had garland of Sun’s rays  , He who destroyed pride  , He who was disciple of Garga, He who loved cattle

 

താപസോ താപശമനഃ താണ്ഡവപ്രിയനന്ദിതഃ ।
പങ്ക്തിസ്യന്ദനപുത്രശ്ച കൌസല്യാനന്ദവര്‍ധനഃ ॥ 167 ॥

 

Thapaso  , thapa samana  , thandava priya  nandhitha

Pangthisyandhana puthrascha, kausalya    aananda vardhitha

 

He who was a saint, He who brings down worries, He who is liked by Shiva and becomes happy

Son of   Dasaradha  , He who increases the joy  of Kausalya

 

പ്രഥിതഃ പ്രഗ്രഹഃ പ്രാജ്ഞഃ പ്രതിബന്ധനിവാരകഃ ।
ശത്രുഞ്ജയോ ശത്രുഹീനഃ ശരഭങ്ഗഗതിപ്രദഃ ॥ 168 ॥

 

Pradhitha  pragraha , pragna , prathi bandha  nivaraka

Sathrunjaya , sathru   heena  , sarabhanga  gathi  pradha

 

He who is learned , He who is stubborn  , He who is wise  , he who gets rid of obstacles

He who wins over enemies, He who does not have enemies, He who gave salvation to Sarabhanga

 

മങ്ഗലോ മങ്ഗലാകാന്തഃ സര്‍വമങ്ഗലമങ്ഗലഃ ।
യജ്ഞമൂര്‍തിര്‍വിശ്വമൂര്‍തിരായുരാരോഗ്യസൌഖ്യദഃ ॥ 169 ॥

 

Mangalo  , mangala kantha  , sarva  mangala mangala

Yajna moorthir, viswa moorthir, aayur aroghya   saukhyadha

 

He who is auspicious husband of an auspicious lady, He who grants all the good to the good

He  who was form of Yajna  , He who is form of universe, He  who grants longlife , health and pleasant life

 

യോഗീന്ദ്രാണാം ത്വദങ്ഗേഷ്വധികസുമധുരം മുക്തിഭാജാം നിവാസോ
ഭക്താനാം കാമവര്‍ഷദ്യുതരുകിസലയം നാഥ തേ പാദമുലം ।
നിത്യം ചിത്തസ്ഥിതം മേ പവനപുരപതേ ! കൃഷ്ണ ! കാരുണ്യസിന്ധോ !
ഹൃത്വാ നിശ്ശേഷപാപാന്‍ പ്രദിശതു പരമാനന്ദസന്ദോഹലക്ഷ്മീം ॥

 

yOgiindraaNaaM tvadangeShvadhikasumadhuraM mukti bhaajaaM nivaasO

bhaktaanaaM kaamavarSha dyutaru kisalayaM naatha te paadamuulam |

nityaM chittasthitaM me pavanapurapate kR^iShNa kaaruNyasindhO

hR^itvaa nishsheShataapaan pradishatu paramaananda sandOhalakshmiim

Oh God, Oh Lord of Guruvayur , Oh Krishna, Oh ocean of mercy,
Let the soles of your feet which is the sweetest part of your body,
To the great sages, which is the place of those who attained salvation,
Which is the tender sprout of the wish giving tree that showers,
The fulfilment of all the wishes and desires of your devotees,
Be firmly kept in my mind so that all my sorrows are destroyed,
And confer on me the flood of prosperity of the Supreme bliss

 

ഇതി ഗുരുവായുരപ്പന്‍ സഹസ്രനാമസ്തോത്രം സമാപ്തം ।
