(I always  thought  My Crazy mohan was a great comedian ,Reading about  him revealed  that  He is a engineering graduate  and writer  of several dramas and films

 

I got this great  prayer  a few days back.I found  it very  difficult  to translate.)

 

 

 

அனுமந்த ராயா அசகாய சூரா

தினமுந்தன் பாதம் தொழுவேன் -எனையிந்த

பாழும் மனமென்ற ஆழியைத் தாண்டிட

தோழா கொடுத்திடு தோள்....(1)

 

Anumantha  raayaa, asakaaya  sooraa

Dhinam  un paadham  thozhuven-yennai  intha

Paazhum  manam yendra  aazhiyai thaandida

THozhaa  koduthidu  thol

 

Oh  Lord Hanuman, the  very great  hero

I daily  salute  your feet, for me  ,

To cross  this  miserable ocean of mind

Please  give  me  your  shoulder as support

 

அனுதினம் ராமா யணமதை ஓதும்

அனுமனே அஞ்சனை அன்பே -கணுவிலா

பக்திக் கரும்பே பயமிலா வாழ்க்கை

சித்திக்கச் செய்வாய் சரண்....(2)

 

Anu dhinam  Ramayanam athai  oathum

Anumane, Anjajanai  anbe-kanu villa

Bakthi karumbe, BHayamilaa  vaazhkkai

Sidhikka  seivai  saran

 

Oh  Hanuman who daily  reads Ramayana

Oh  dear  one  to Anjana, Oh devotion

Sugarcane  without a node, Please

Help me  to lead  a fearless life, I surrender

 

வினய வடிவம் விழிகளில் பாஷ்பம்

கணைவிடு ராமன் கதையே -துணையாய்

அணையா விளக்காய் அமர்ந்த அனுமான்

இணையே(தும்) இல்லா இறை....(3)

 

Vinaya vadivam , vizhikalil bashpam

Kanai  vidu  Raman Kadhayi-thunayai

Anayaa vilakkai amarntha  anumaan

Inai  yethum  illaa  irai

 

Form of humility, tears in his  eyes

Send an arrow of the  story of Rama,

With you to help is Hanuman who sits

AS never fading lamp-He has  no comparison-He is god

 

பாரிஜாத வாசம் பணிராமன் காரியம்

வேறுஜாதி வானரம் மாருதி -மாறுவேடம்

பூண்டுவந்த ருத்திரன் பூமிவாயு புத்திரன்

வேண்டுவோர்தம் வீட்டில் வரவு....(4)

 

Paarijatha  vaasam , Pani Raman  Kariyam

Veru  jaathi  vaanaram Maruthi-Maaru  vedam

Poondu vantha Rudran Bhoomi  vayu puthran

Venduvor  tham  veettil  varavu

 

Smell of Parijatha flower, His job , helping lord  Rama

Mathuthi is a different caste monkey-He  is lord

Shiva  who came in different form, In earth he  is son of wind god

He  comes in those  houses who want him

 

அண்ணல் நினைப்பினால் கண்ணில் பனித்திரை

விண்ணில் பறந்தோன் வெகுளியாய் -திண்ணையில்

ஸ்ரீ£ராம் ஜெயராம் ஜெயஜெய ராமென்று

தீராத் தவத்தில் திளைப்பு....(5)

 

Annal  ninaipinaal kannil  pani thirai

Vinnil paranthon veguliyai-THinnayil

Sri Ram  Jaya Ram, jaya  jaya  Ram yendru

THeeraa  thavathil thilaippu

 

In the  thought of his lord  snow curtain covers his eye

As an innocent  he flew  in the sky-In the veranda

Sri  Ram Hail Ram Hail hail Ram , chanting like that

He is tied up in  endlessmeditation

 

வீரன் வினயன் வெகுசமர்த்தன் ஈசனவ

தாரன் ரகுநாதன் இஷ்டவேலைக் -காரன்

கடல்கடந்து அய்யன் கணையாழி தந்த

உடல்கடந்தோன் உள்ளம் உணர்....(6)...

 

Veeran vinayan, vegu samarthan eesan ,

Avathaaran Raghu  nadhan ishta velai kkaran

Kadal kadanthu ayyan  kanaaazhi thanth

Udal  kadanthon  ullam unar

 

Hero , one with humility , ver intelligent, The favourite

 Servant of  Lord of Raghu clan, who was  an incarnation

Crossing the  ocean and  giving  the royal ring of the lord

And let him who has  crossed his body, sit  in your mind

எந்திர வேகத்தில் ஏகிய -சுந்தரன்

வெற்ப்பெடுத்து வந்தவனின் வீரக் கழல்களை

Indhira jithanin thanthira  kattu  agala

Yenthira  vegathil  yegiya  -suthanthiran

Verppeduthi vanthavanin veera  kazhalkalai

Nirbhayam kolla  nerungu

 

To untie  the  magical  tie of Indra Jith

The independent  one  who went in machine speed

To touch  the  heroic feet of  the  one  carried  the mountain

Without fear  go near him

வான்புக ஓங்கிய வானரம் -தேன்புகும்

கூந்தலாள் சூடாமணி ஏந்தி எஜமான்முன்

“Ram” pugal  manthiram, jambhavan undhuthal

Vaan pukha  ongiya vanaram-then pugum

Koonthalaal choodaa mani  yenthi yejaman mun

SErnthanan  sevadi ser

 

For going “Rama” is the chant, then encouraging  him by Jambhavan

The money  that started  to go in to sky, Holding,

The head brooch of her in whose  hair  honey enters

He  reached , Go  near his feet

 

புரவிகள் ஏழினைப் பூட்டிய தேரில்

இரவியோ(டு) ஏகி உயர்ந்த -அறிவினைப்

பெற்ற கவிக்குல பேரொளியை காகுத்தர்(கு)

உற்ற அனுமன்தாள் பற்று....(9)

 

Puravikal  yezhinai  poottiya  theril

Iraviyodu  yeki uyarntha  arivinai

Pethra  kavi kula  peroliyai Kakuthar

Uthra  Anuman  thaal pathru

 

He who went  with sun god  travelling  in a chariot

Drawn  by seven horses  and got his wisdom

That great light of monkey clan, was ,

The  great  friend Of Rama, catch  his feet

 

வாயு குமாரன் வலிமிகு தோளினன்

ஆய கலைகள் அறிந்தவன் -தூயநல்

நெஞ்சினன் தொல்லை அழிப்பவன் தாயவள்

அஞ்சனை மைந்தன் அரண்....(10)

 

Vaayu kumaran , vali migu  tholinan

Aaya kalaikal  arinthavan-thooya nal

Nenjinan, thollai  azhippavan, Thayaval

Anjanai  mainthan aran

 

Son of wind God , Very  powerful and strong one

One  who knew all arts, One  with,

A very  pure heart, He who removes  troubles

The son  of mother  Anjana  is our protection

 

வாயு குமாரன் வலிமிகு தோளினன்

ஆய கலைகள் அறிந்தவன் -மாயவன்

அஞ்சன வண்ணனின் ஆருயிர்த் தோழனை

நெஞ்சினில் வைக்க நிறைவு....(11)

 

Vayu kumaaran , vali migu tholinan

Aaya  kalaikal arinthavan-mayavan

Anjana vannanin  aaruyir thozhanai

Nenjinil  vaikka  niraivu

 

The  son of wind God , very strong one

He Who knew  all arts-The one  who knew  magic

The  great  friend  of  black  lord

If we  keep him in our mind , it will be full

 

சினத்தீ இராவணன் சீர்மல்கு தீவில்

கணத்தில்தீ வைத்து அசோக -வனத்தில்

கணையாழி தந்தன்னை கண்ணீர் துடைத்தோய்

வினையாழி தாண்டிட வை....(12)....

 

Sinathee ravanan, seer malgu  theevil

Kanathil thee  vaithu  Asoka  vanathil

Kanayaazhi  thanthanai, kanneer thudaithoi

Vinayaazhi  thaandida  vai

 

In the  greatly wealthy island of Ravana  with fire like anger

Within seconds  the  one who set fire and gave,

Royal ring and  wiped  the tears

Please make us  cross ocean of fate

 

வால் நீளும்)....!எஜமானன் ராமனுக்(கு) என்றும் பணிந்த

நிஜமான பக்தன் அனுமான் -புஜத்தில்

வடைமாலை சார்த்தி வணங்கி உறங்க

விடிகாலை காண்போம் வியப்பு....(13)

 

Vaal  Neelum  , Yejamananukku  yendrum  panintha

Nijamaana  bakthan  Hanuman -bhujathil

Vadai  maalai  saarthi , vanangi Uranga

Vidi  kaalai Kaanbom  viyappu

 

His tail will grow, The one who is always under  submission

To Lord Rama, the  true  devotee  Hanuman, If on his shoulders

If WE make him wear a garland of Vadai  and  sleep

WE  will see  in the  early  morning -Surprise

 

எங்கு இராமன் காதை நிகழ்ந்தாலும்

அங்கு விழியிலா னந்தபாஷ்பம் -பொங்கிவர

கைத்தாளம் இட்டு குதூகலிக்கும் மாருதியின்

மெய்த்தலம் சிந்திக்க மாண்பு....(14)

 

Yengu  Raman Kaadhai  nikazhnthalum

Angu vizhiyil Aananda bashpam pongi vara

Kai thalam ittu  kuthookalikkum maruthiyin

Mei thalam chinthikka  maanpu

 

Wherever  Rama’s  story  is being told

There with tears  of joy ebbing out of his eyes

Clapping and extremely joyous  will be Hanuman

Thinking  about his  body  is great

 

திடமான பக்தி தெளிவான ஞானம்

கடமை தவறாத கர்மம் -அடைய

அனுமானை அஞ்சனை மைந்தனை என்றும்

மனமாறப் போற்றி மகிழ்....(15)

 

Dhidamaana Bakthi, thelivaana  jnaanam

Kadamai thavaraatha karmam-Adaya

Hanumaanai Anjanai Maithanai, Yendrum

Manamaara  pothri magizh

 

Stable  devotion , clear  wisdom

Job without failing his duty-to reach

The Hanuman, son of Anjans, daly

Without  all your heart praise  and be happy

 

தன்பலம் காட்டா தவசீலன் தர்மமென்றால்

தன்பலன் பாரா(து) உழைப்பவன் -தன்புலன்

ஐந்தினை ஆளும் அனுமனை, வாயு

மைந்தனைப் பாடல் மகிழ்வு....(16)

 

Than balam kaattaa Thava  seelan dharmam  yendraal,

Than palan paaraathu uzhaippavan-Than pulan

Ainthiai aalum  anumana , vaayu ,

Maithanai paadal 

 

The spiritual  person who  does not show his strength

He who works  hard without bothering for his strength  if it is Dharma

The Hanuman who rules  over his  five sense  organs

Sing  about  the son  of wind God

 

சுந்தர காண்ட சுருதி உரைக்கும்

மந்திர வாசக மாருதியே -எந்திரமாய்

உண்டு உறங்கி உலகக் கிணற்றில்

மண்டூகம் ஆச்சே மதி....(17)

 

Sundara Kanda  Sruthi uraikkum

Manthira  Vachaka maruthiye-yenthiramai

Undu, urangi, ulaka  kinathil

Mandookam  aache  mathi

 

Oh Wise Hanuman, who chants  Sundara kanda

Oh  Hanuman  who works  like machine-is not ,

Like a machine  your  brain which is like  a frog,

In the well of the world  and eats and sleeps

 

பொறிகளின் சூழ்ச்சியால் பெண்களின் காமக்

குறிகளில் வீழ்ந்திட வாழ்க்கை -நெறிதவறி

கஜ்ராஹோ கெட்டகனா காணாது கண்விழிக்க

பஜ்ரங் பலீயுன் பணி....(18)

 

Porikalin choozhchiyaal penkalin kama

Kurikalaal veezhnthida  vaazkkai-neri thavari

Kajraho  ketta  kanaa  kaanaathu -kan vizhikka

Bajrang  Baliyin pani

 

Being hit  by  the  tricky  arrows  of ladies,

And falling down- The job of Hanuman

Is to avoid    not  getting  violted,

From this  by the  rules of life

 

.திருத்துழாய் காட்டில் கருத்துடன் ராமன்

திருப்பெயர் ஓதும் தவமே -மருத்துவக்

குன்றேந்தி வந்தோய் குணமயக்கம் போக்கிட

இன்றேந்தி வாருமய்யா இங்கு....(19)

 

Thiruthuzhai kaattil karuthudan Raman

Thiruppeyar  othum thavame-Maruthuva

Mandrenthi vanthoi , guna mayakkam pokkida

Indrenthi  varumayya ingu

 

Oh  penance who with intention  chants ,

The  name  of  Rama in  the forest  of Thulasi  plants

He who came  carrying  the medicine  mountain,

To remove  our dizziness, please bring it  today

 

பொன்னும் கிடைக்கும் புதனும் அகப்படும்

எண்ணும் எழுத்தும் இருவிழியாய் -மின்னும்

கவிக்குல முக்யன் கமல பதங்கள்

தவிக்கையில் தோன்றும் துணைக்கு....(20)

 

Ponnum kidaikkum ,  Budhanum  agappedum

Yennum yezuthum  iru vizhiyaai-Minnum,

Kavi kula mukkiyan  kamala  padhangal

Thavikkayil , thondrum  thunaikku

 

We will get gold  , we will get  intelligence

Numbers  and alphabets  will shine  as two eyes

The lotus  like  feet  of the king of poets

Is in trouble , his thought will come to help

 

மூவாசை கொள்ளா முதல்வோன் ரகுராம

சேவைசெய் ஆசை சிவரூபன் -பூவாச

அன்னையைக் கண்டு அசோக வனத்திடை

இன்னலைத் தீர்த்தோன் இவன்....(21)

 

Moovaasai kollaa  muthalvon, Raghu  Rama

Sevai  chei aasai  shiva roopan -Poovasa

Annayai  kandu  asoka  vanathidai

Innalai  theerthon ivan

 

The first one  who have left destire of  gold, land and ladies

His  desire  was  do service Raghu Rama. He is  one form of Shiva

After meeting mother  with perfume  of flower in Asoka forest

He  removed  her  problems

 

ஆஞ்ச நேயன் அசாத்திய சாதகன்

காஞ்சன அன்னையைக் கண்டன்று -வாஞ்சையாய்

வில்லாளி நாயகன் வாக்களிப்பை விண்டுரைத்த

சொல்லாளி சுந்தரன்பேர் சொல்லு....(22)

 

Aanjaneyan, asaadhya  sadakan

Kanchana  annayai kandanru- Vaanchayai

Villali nayakan vaakkalippai  Vindu  uraitha

Sollali  Sundaran per  sollu

 

Anjanya, the one  who could  do impossible  things

The  day he  saw  the golden mother, with affection

He clearly  explained the wors of expert in bow

Please  tell  the name  of expert in words

 

புலன்களாம் ஐவரோடு ஆறா காது

விலங்கினைப் பூட்டிய வாயு -குலன்மகன்

தாசரதி தோழன் தசகண்ட ராவணன்

வாசலெதிர் வந்தோன்வால் வாள்.... (23)

 

Pulankalaam  ivarodu,aaraa kaathu

Vilanginai  poottiya vaayu-Kulan makan

Dasarathi  thozhan, dasa  kanda  ravanan

Vaasel yethir  vanthon vaal, vaal

 

The  son of  clan of wind god  who along with,

His  six sense  organs added the ear animal

The  friend of Rama, he who again opposite

The door  of ten  headed  Ravana , his tail is his sword

 

இராமன் இளையோன் இருதோள் இருக்க

இராவணன் போரில் இறக்க -அரோஹரன்

அம்சனே அஞ்சனை ஆண்மகனே வானர

வம்சனே வாழியநின் வாகு....(24)....

 

Raman  ilayon  irunthol  irukka

Ravanan  poaril  irakka-Aroharan

Amsane Anjanai aan makane, vanara

Vamsane  Vaazhiya nin vaaku

 

With  youger of  Rama  being alive

When Ravana  died  in war, a part,

Of Lord Shiva, the son of Anjana

The  one who belongs to family  of monkeys-Long live your strength

 

குரங்கெண்ணம் காக்க மருந்துண்ண வைக்க

விரைந்தோடிக் கண்டாய் வரையை -திருந்தேன்

மலைநிகர்த்த நீயிருக்க மற்றெதையோ நாடினேன்

தலையிருக்க வாலாடும் தீங்கு....(25)

 

Kurangennam kaakka marunthu unna  vaikka

Virainthodi kandai varayai- Thirunthen

Malai nigartha  nee irukka, mathru yethayo naadinen

Thalai irukka  vaaladum  theengu

 

For protecting  the  thought  of a monkey , to make them take the medicine

I came running fast and saw the mistake-I will not correct  myself

When you who are like  a mountain is there, I wanted some other  thing

If  tail  shakes when head is  there, it is a mistake

 

அறிவில் கதிரொளி ஆற்றலில் ஈசன்

திருவில் ஜனகமகள் தாசன் -உறவில்

குகனோடு ஆறானான் காகுத்தன் நட்பில்

With  மாருதியை நண்ணு....(26)

 

Arivil kathiroli  aatthralil eesan

Thiruvil janaka makal  dasan-Uravil,

Guhanodu  aaraanaan, kakuthan natpil

Nigarilla  maruthiyai nannu

 

In Wisdom sun like rays, in capacity to do God

In the divine form  Servant of Sita-In relation,

Along with Guha  he became  sixth  brother

In friendship with Rama-the incomparable  Maruthi, You seek him

 

அறிவிலோ ஆசானாம் ஆற்றலில் ஈசன்

திருவிலோ ஜானகிக்கு தாசன் -உறவில்

குகனோடு ஆறாம் ரகுநாதன் தேர்வு

நிகரில்லா மாருதியை நண்ணு....(27)

 

Arivil AAsaanam aatthralil eesan

Thiruvil janaka makal  dasan-Uravil,

Guhanodu  aaraam  Raghunathan thervu

Nigarilla  maruthiyai nannu

 

In Wisdom he is the  teacher, in capacity to do God

In the divine form  Servant of Sita-In relation,

Along with Guha  the sixth  selction of Rama

The incomparable  Maruthi, You seek him

 

வானரம் ஆயிரம் வாயைப் பிளந்திட

வானுற ஓங்கிநீள் வாரிதி -ஜாணுற

தாவி இலங்கைக்கு மேவிய மாருதியை

சேவிக்க சித்திக்கும் சத்து....(28)

 

Vaanaram  aayiram  vaayai  pilanthida

Vaanura ongi  neel varuthu  - channura

THaavi  ilangaikku  meviya maruthiyai

Sevikka  chithikkum  Sthu

 

With thousand  monkeys  opening their mouth in awe

Making the sky like  spead ocean  in to one hand measure

The Maruthi   travelled  to Lanka

If we serve  him , we get  the essence

 

உரம்கொடுக்கும் ஓங்க, கரம்கொடுக்கும் தாங்க

அரன்படைத்த அம்சன் அனுமான் -வரம்கொடுக்கும்

காலில் சிரம்கிடக்க, ஏழு மரம்தடுத்தும்

வாலி திறன்முடித்தோன் வாழ்த்து....(29)

 

Uram kodukkum  ongs, Karam kodukkum  THaanga

Aran   padaitha amsan Hanuman-varam kodukkum

Kaalil , siram kidakka , yezhu maramthaduthum

Vaali thiran  mudithon vaazhthu

 

With great  health  increasing, With giving hand to support

Hanuman is the One  having  part of Shiva, With our heads,

Falling at the feet which gives boons, even when seven trees  stopped

He who put an end to power of Vali, let  him live long

 

பகுத்தறி வாளன் பரமராம பக்தன்

அகத்துறை ஆன்மன் அனுமான் -மகத்துவம்

பாடு ,மலர்ப்பதம் நாடு இகத்துடன்

வீடும் இணைந்திடும் வாழ்வு....(30)..

 

Pakutharivaalan , parama Rama Bakthan

Akathurai  aanman  Hanuman -Makathuvam

Paadu, Malar padham naadu, ihathuudan

Veedum inainthidum vaazhvu

 

Rationalist, great devotee of Rama

His soul that is inside  Hanuman-sing

About his  greatness, desire for his flower like feet.

Then your  life  will join with you  and your heaven

 

தத்துவமாய் சைவன், தரணியில் ராமனின்

வித்தாய் விளைந்ததால் வைணவன், -மத்வ

மதமூலன் வாயு மகனனுமான் ராசி

பதமூலம் ஆசி பலன்....(31)

 

THathuvamai  saivan, dhariniyil Ramanin

Vithai vilainthathaal vainavan-Madhwa

Madha moolan,vaayu maganuman  , Rasi

Padham  moola maasi palan

 

By  Philosophy  Saivite, In earth  as ,

See  of  Rama  Vaishnavite, the one

Who is the root of Madhwas, He also is son of wind god

Though the rasis, we will get  his blessings

 

இராமவென்று கூறல் இராமவுரு காணல்

இராமகதை கேட்டல், இருப்பு -இராமன்கால்

என்றிருக்க மாருதிபோல், என்றும் குணசீலக்

குன்றுச்சியில் வைக்கும் குரங்கு....(32)

 

Ramavendru kooral, Rama uru kaanal

Rama kadhai kettal, iruppu  Raman Kaal

Yendrirukka  , Maruthi poal yendrum Guna seela

Kundru  uchiyil vaikkum kurangu

 

Telling “Rama” , seeing  Rama

Hearing Rama stories, staying near  Rama’s feet

To be like that you should be like Monkey,  Hanuman

Who is on top of hill of good character

 

சீதை துயர்தீர்க்க வாத மகனாக

பூதலம் வந்தவுமை பாகனை -ஆதவன்

கூடவே சென்றன்று பாடம் பயின்றோனை

நாடவே நாடுமுனை நாடு....(33)

 

Seethai  thuyar  theerkka, vatha makhanaaka

Bhoothalam Vantha Umai pakanai-Aathavan

Koodave  chendru  andru paadampayindronai

Naadave   naadu  munai  naadu

 

He who came to earth  as son of wind God

To put an end  to sorrow  of Sita, The  one who lead Parvathi

He who learnt lessons  going along with Sun God

To approach him go to the tip of our country

 

சேராது துஷ்ட சகவாசம், சேர்ந்தாலும்

மாறாது மனம்வாயு மைந்தனின் -பேரோத

தீராத வல்வினைகள் தூராதி தூரத்தில்

ஓரோரம் ஓடும் ஒளிந்து....(34)

 

Cheraathu dushta  sakavasam  chernthaalum

Maaraathu manam   vayu mainthanin- per oatha

THeeraatha  val  vinaikal dhooradhi  dhoorathil

Oaroram  odum olinthu

 

Even if we  join bad  company which we  should not join

Our mind will not change , if we chant name of son of wind God

The  very bad fate  which will never  end, would go far  far away

And go to the  brink and  hide and run away

 

வாலால் சகோதரன் வாயுமகன் பீமனி ன்

தோளா ணவகர்வம் தீர்த்தோனே -காளான்

எனவகந்தை என்னுள் எழுந்திடும் போது

மனமுவந்து ஆளென் மனது....(35)

 

Vaallaal  sahodharan Vayu  makan bheemanidam

Thol  aanava  garvam theerthone-kalaaan

Yenava ahandhai  yennul  yezhunthidum pothu

Manam uvanthu  aalen manathu

 

He who with his  tail he  removed  the  pride and proudness

Of his  brother  BHimasena-When pride  rises

In my   mind like a mushroom,

My mind  will be happy and rule over me

 

பாரத யுத்தத்தில் பார்த்தனின் சாரதி

தேரதன் உச்சி திகழ்ந்தோனே -நூறதை

பாண்டவர் வெல்ல பலமாக வீசினாய்

காண்டீப வேள்வியில் காற்று....(36)..

 

Bharatha  yudhathil , parthananin Saradhi

Ther  athan  uchi  thikazhnthone-Noorathai

Pandavar  vella, balamaaka  veesinaai

Gandeepa   velviyil kathru

 

In the  Maha Bharatha war , Arjuna’s charioteer

And he  was  on the  of the chariot , For Pandavas

Win the hundred Kauravas, you blew  strongly

Wind in the  yaga of Gandeeva bow
