Becoming pure  on the first  of Karthika month, (Malayalam Bhajan)

Shudhamayi  Karthika  Masam onnam thiyathi,

Rudraksha  Mudhra kazhuthil   chaarthi,

Mandalamonnu kazhinjeedumbol,

SWamiye dhyanichu   bhathiyode,

Swami saranam, saranam  ponnayyappa,

SWamiyillathoru   saranamilla

Becoming  pure on the first  of Karthika month,

Wear  the Rudraksha  Mudhra  on the neck,

And after   mandala  period  is over,

Meditate  on God    with devotion,

God I surrender, I surrender   to golden Ayyappa,

Except   God there  is no  protection

Kettum yeduthu  sara kolum kondu angu,

Pettayil   chennudan  vettayaadi,

Koottamai  Vavaru  SWamiye  vandhichu,

KOttam koodathe  nadannudane (swami saranam..)

Taking the bundle and along    eith the staff,

Go to Petta    and do the hunting,

Go  as a crowd   and Salute  Vavaru  Swami,

And walk immediately    without problems  (God  I surrender..)

Naattin   adhipanaam  Ayyappan thannude,

KOtta  padiyum   kadannu chennu,

Perur thottil    chennu mungi vazhi poale,

Kanana margena   sancharichu  (Swami Saranam..)

After   crossing the steps  to the fort,

Of Ayyappa  who is the owner of the country,

After dipping  in Perur stream and as per  the route,

Travel in the path of   the forest (God I surrender..)

Keerthanam paadi  nadannu  padhukkave,

Aanandamode  azhutha  pukku,

Azhuthatil  mungeettu, kallum  yeduthudan,

Kallitti  kallidaam kunnu  keri   (swami saranam..)

Singing songs   and walking slowly,

With joy entered  Azhutha,

After  taking   bath in Azhutha, immediately taking a stone,

Climbed  Kallidam kunnu  and put  it there(God  I surrender..)

Karadikal kaduvakal koodi kondirikkunna,

Karimala  melle  chavutti  keri,

Parama pavithramaam  pamba sarassingal,

Parichodu  mungi  kulicha sesham (swami saranam…)

Then slowly by walk  climbed Karimala,

Where bears and tigers   are  crowding,

Then after dipping   and taking  bath,

In the divinely pure Pamba  river (God I surrender..)

Sadhyakal, dhanangal , dakshina yenniva,

Okke  nadathi yaananda mode,

Neelaravinda dala prabha pondoru,

Neeeli mala than mukalil yeri (Swami Saranam..)

Feasts , charities  and fees  to Brahmins,

Were   all performed  there  with joy,

And climbed  up the  Neli mountain,

Which has the shine of petal of blue lotus(God I surrender..)

Sabari than pandu thapam  cheithirunnoru,

Sabari malayum  kadannu chennu,

Ponnum padi pathinettum kadanneri,

Ponnambalam  kandu  santhoshichu (swami saranam..)

After  crossing  Sabari mountain, where,

Long ago Sabari  did her penance,

Climbed the  eighteen golden steps,.

I became happyon seeing the golden temple (God I surrender..)

Kanivode malika mele  vasichidum,

Jananiye  vaazhthi sthuthichellarum,

Pettennu  chennudan kumbalam thottile,

Punya  theerthathil  kuli kazhinju (swami saranam..)

With tender feelings after praising and praying,

The  mother who lives   in Malika above,

Immediately go   to Kumbalam thodu,

And after  finishing   bath In its sacred   waters( God I surrender..)

Harihara  nandana  pada padmam kandu,

Parichode   yellavarum  santhoshichu,

Swami  saranam, saranam  ponnayyappa,

Swamiyillathoru   saranam  yilla  ( Swami saranam…)

After seeing the lotus like  feet of  sof Hari and Hara,

Immediately   everybody became  happy,

I surrender to you God  , I surrender to Golden  Ayyappa,

Without God    there is no surrender  (God I surrender..)
