Sanskrit Verses  of  salutation

 

(This was given to me, by my friend Ms Anitha Krishnan.  Later I found  it is recommended  for prayer  by

Many temples of Kerala-Eg Chemmanadu devaswom , kerala, pariyanampatha  temple etc)

 

 

1.  ഗണപതി

 

ശുക്ലാംബരധരം വിഷ്ണും

ശശിവർണ്ണം ചതുർഭുജം

പ്രസന്നവദനം ധ്യായേത്

സർവ്വവിഘ്നോപശാന്തയേ

 

Shuklam baradaram vishnum

Sashi varnam chatur bhujam |

Prasanna vadanam dhyayet

Sarva vignopa santhaye ||

 

Dressed in white you are,
Oh, all pervading one,
And glowing with the colour of moon.
With four arms, you are, the all knowing one
I meditate on your ever-smiling face,
And pray, "Remove all obstacles on my way".

 

2.   ഏകദന്തം മഹാകായം

തപ്ത കാഞ്ചന സന്നിഭം

ലംബോദരം വിശാലാക്ഷം വന്ദേഹം ഗണനായകം

 

Eka Dantham  Maha Kayam

THaptha  kanchana  snnibham

Lambodharam, Visalaksham

Vandheham Gana  Nayakam

 

With one tusk very  big body,

Shining  like  molten gold

With a huge  belly, broad  eyes

I salute  the chief  of Ganas

 

3. ഗുരു    

                                        

 ഓം ഗുരുര്‍ബ്രഹ്മാ ഗുരുര്‍വിഷ്ണുഃ

ഗുരുര്‍ദേവോ മഹേശ്വരഃ

ഗുരുസാക്ഷാത് പരം ബ്രഹ്മാ

തസ്‌മൈ ശ്രീ ഗുരവേ നമഃ

 

Guru brahma gurur vishnu hu

Guru devo mahashwaraha |

Guru sakshat parabrahma

Tasmai sri Gurave namaha ||

 

Guru is Brahma, Vishnu and the great Maheswara,
Guru is the real Brahman and so I salute the Guru.

 

4. ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ

 

കൃഷ്ണായ വാസുദേവായ

ഹരയേ പരമാത്മനേ

പ്രണത ക്ലേശ നാശായ

ഗോവിന്ദായ നമോ നമ:

 

Krishnaaya  Vaasudevaaya

Haraye  Paramathmane

Pranatha  klesa  nasaya

Govindaya  namo nama

 

Oh Krishna  , oh Vasudeva

Oh Hari, Oh divine soul

Oh Lord who destroys  trouble  of Praying

Oh Govinda  , salutation   and salutation

 

5. ശിവൻ

 

ശിവം ശിവകരം ശാന്തം

ശിവാത്മനം ശിവോത്തമം

ശിവ മാർഗ പ്രണേതാരം

പ്രണതോസ്മി സദാശിവം

 

Shivam shivakaram, shantham,
shivathmanam, Shivothamam,
Shivamarga pranetharam,
pranamai sada shivam.

 

Salutations to the God who is peaceful,
Who lives in peace,
Who creates peace,
Who is peace itself,
Who is the soul of peace,
Who is greatest peace,
And who shows the path of Peace.

 

 

6.  സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ

 

ശക്തിഹസ്തം വിരൂപാക്ഷം

ശിഖിവാഹം ഷഡാനനം

ദാരുണം രിപുരോഗഘ്നം

ഭാവയേ കുക്കുട ധ്വജം.

 

Sakthi Hastham  , viroopaksham

Shikhi vaham,shadananam

Dharunam ripu , Rogaghnam

BHavaye Kukkuda  dwajam

 

He holds SAkthi in hand , is diversely eyed

Rides on peacock , has  six  faces

Horror   to the enemied, who destroys  diseases

I  think of one with cock  in his flag

 

7. ശ്രീപാർവ്വതി

 

പാശാങ്കുശാവിക്ഷു ശരാസ ബാണൌ

കരൈർവ്വഹന്തീമരുണാംശുകാഢ്യാം

ഉദ്യത് പതംഗാഭിരുചിം മനോജ്ഞാം

ശ്രീപാർവ്വതീം രത്നചിതാം പ്രണൌമി

 

Pasankusa  Avikshu  sarasa banou

Karair  vahanthim arunam suka  aadyaam

Udhyath   pathanga abhiruchim  mamojnam

Sri  Parvathim    Rathnachitham  Pranoumi

 

Holding  in her hand  rope  and goad and

Bow and arrows  not seen before,holding

Carrying a  red coloured   pretty bird

Having    great interest   in stars  and sun, who is very  pretty

Is Goddess  Parvathi who  shines like gem , To her  my salutations

 

8. ശിവകുടുബം

 

വന്ദേ ഗിരീശം ഗിരിജാസമേതം

കൈലാസ ശൈലേന്ദ്ര ഗുഹാ ഗൃഹസ്ഥം

അങ്കേ നിഷണ്ണേന വിനായകേന

സ്കന്ദേന ച അത്യന്ത സുഖായമാനം

 

Vandhe  Gireesam  , Girija  sametham

Kailasa  sailendra guhaa  grahastham

Ankhe  nishannena  vinayakena

Skandhena cha   athyantha  sukhaya maanam

 

Salutation to Lord Shiva , along  with Parvathi

Who live  in a cave in king of mountains  Kailasa,

Along with Vinayaka  whose  one limb is affected

And Skanda with  very great pleasure

 

9. സരസ്വതി

 

സരസ്വതി നമസ്തുഭ്യം

വരദേ കാമരൂപിണീ

വിദ്യാരംഭം കരിഷ്യാമി

സിദ്ധിർ ഭവതുമേ സദാ

 

Saraswathi Namasthubhyam,
varade Kama roopini,
Vidhyarambham karishyami,
sidhir bhavathu me sada.

 

 

My pranams to Goddess Saraswathi,
Who can take any form,
Who is the giver of all boons,
And I start learning now,
With the prayer to her,
To make it very effective

10. ഭഗവതി

 

സർവ്വ മംഗല മംഗല്യേ

ശിവേ സർവ്വാർത്ഥ സാധികേ

ശരണ്യേ ത്ര്യംബകേ ഗൗരി

നാരായണി നമോസ്തുതേ

 

Sarva mangala mangalye  shive saravartha sadhike,

Sharanye  tryambike devi  Narayani  namothuthe.

 

My salutations to the goddess Narayani,

Who is the auspiciousness  of all auspiciousness ,

Who is consort of Shiva , Who grants all desires,

Who can be  relied  upon and who is the  trinity of Goddesses.

 

 

11. ഭദ്രകാളി

 

കാളി കാളി മഹാകാളി

ഭദ്രകാളീ നമോസ്തു തേ

കുലം ച കുലധർമ്മം ച

മാം ച പാലയ പാലയ

 

Kali, Kali  , Maha Kali

Bhadra  Kali  namosthuthe

Kulam   cha  kula dharmam cha

Maam cha Palaya  Palaya

 

Oh Kali  , Oh Kali  , oh great Kali

Oh Bhadra  Kali  salutations

Protect  , protect  , my clan,

Dharma  of the clan and myself

 

12. ധന്വന്തരി

 

ധന്വന്തരീമഹം വന്ദേ വിഷ്ണു രൂപം ജനാർദ്ദനം

യസ്യ കാരുണ്യ ഭാവേന രോഗമുക്തോ ഭവേത്ജ്ജനാഃ

 

Danwantharim  Aham vandhe  , vishu roopam  , janardhanam

Yasya  karunya  bhavena   roga  muktho  bhaaveth  jana

 

I am saluting  Dhanwantari who has form of Vishnu who excites men

And who  with  merciful    conduct cures  people  from diseases

 

13. ശ്രീരാമൻ

 

ആപദാപഹർത്താരം ദാതാരം സർവ്വസമ്പദാം

ലോകാഭിരാമം ശ്രീരാമം ഭൂയോ ഭൂയോ നമാമ്യഹം

 

Aapadam apa hartharam dhataram sarva sampadam,
Lokabhi ramam Sri ramam bhooyo bhooyo namamyaham.

My prostrations to that Sri Rama,
Who removes all dangers in life,
Who gives all riches to his devotees,
And who is the darling of all the world.

 

14. ഹനുമാൻ

 

മനോജവം മാരുതതുല്യ വേഗം

ജിതേന്ദ്രിയം ബുദ്ധിമതാം വരിഷ്ഠം

വാതാത്മജം വാനരയൂഥമുഖ്യം

ശ്രീരാമദൂതം ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ

 

Manojavam marutha thulya vegam,
Jithendriyam budhimatham varishtam,
Vathathmajam vanara yudha mukyam,
Sree rama dhootham sirasa namami.

I bow my head befre,
The emissary of Lord Sri Rama,
Who is faster than mind,
Who is as fast as the wind,
Who has won over his senses,
Who is wisest among the learned,
Who is son of God of wind,
And who is the chief among,
An army of monkeys.

 

15. ദക്ഷിണാ മൂർത്തി

 

നമശ്ശിവായ ശാന്തായ ശുദ്ധായ പരമാത്മനേ

നിർമ്മലായ പ്രസന്നായ(സച്ചിദാനന്ദ രൂപായ) ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തയേ നമ:

 

Salutations  to Shiva  who is peaceful  pure  divine soul

He who is spotless  , pleased , has  form of  divine joy , I salute  Dakshinamurthy

 

16. വേട്ടെയ്ക്കൊരു മകൻ

 

ധാരാധര ശ്യാമളാംഗം ചുരികാചാപധാരിണം

കിരാത പവുഷം വന്ദേ പരമാത്മാനമീശ്വരം

 

Dharaadhara  shyamangam    choorikaa  chapa  dharinam

Kiratha   vapusham  , Vandhe  paramathmaanam   easwaram

 

He who has body  of cloud like blackness, He who holds  bow and sword

Has form of hunter, I salute    that divine soul  who is god  shiva

 

17. ശാസ്താവ്

 

ഭൂതനാഥ സദാനന്ദ

സർവ്വഭൂതദയാപര

രക്ഷ രക്ഷ മഹാബാഹോ

ശാസ്ത്രേ തുഭ്യം നമോ നമ:

 

Bhootha nadha   , sadhaananda

Sarva  bhootha  dhayaa  para

Raksha   Raksha  Maha baho

Sasthre   Thubhyam  namo nama

 

Oh  Lord of Bhoothas  who is always happy

He who is merciful  to all beings

Proptect  , protect , oh great  Valorous one

Oh Sastha  I salute   and salute you

 

18. അയ്യപ്പൻ

 

അഖില ഭുവന ദീപം ഭക്തചിത്താബ്ജസൂരം

സുര മുനി ഗണ സേവ്യം തത്ത്വമസ്യാദി ലക്ഷ്യം

ഹരിഹരസുതമീശം താരക ബ്രഹ്മരൂപം

ശബരിഗിരിനിവാസം ഭാവയേത് ഭൂതനാഥം

 

Akhila  BHuvana   Dheepam , Baktha   Chithabhja  suram

Sura muni gana sevyam, THathwam  asyadhi  lakshyam

Hariharasutham  eesam, tharaka Brahma  roopam

SAbari giri nivasam  , Bhavayeth  Bhootha nadham

 

The  light  of the  entire universe, the hero  of  the lotus mind of devotees

He who is served  by devas , saints,, He who  is   the aim of principle  and philosophy

God  who is sun of Hari Hara, He who has  form of Brahmam  who makes  you cross

He who lives  on Sabari mountain, he  who is recognized  as  Lord of Bhoothas

 

19. ശങ്കരനാരായണൻ

ശിവം ശിവകരം ശാന്തം കൃഷ്ണായ വാസുദേവായ

ശിവാത്മാനം ശിവോത്തമം ഹരയേ പരമാത്മനേ

ശിവ മാർഗ്ഗ പ്രണേതാരം പ്രണത ക്ലേശ നാശായ

പ്രണതോസ്മി സദാശിവം ഗോവിന്ദായ നമോ നമഃ

 

Shivam  Shivakaram Santham , Krishnaya  Vasudevaya

Shivathmaanam,  Shivothamam , haraye  paramathmane

Shiva marga  pranetharam Pranatha  klesa  naasaaya

Pranothosmi   Sadhashivam  , Govindaaya  namo nama

 

Salutations to the God who is peaceful,Who lives in peace,Oh  Krishna, Oh Vasudeva
Who is soul pf peace , who is greatest peace,Oh Hari  , oh   divine soul
Who  takes  on road to peace, who destroys  troubles , if prayed to
I  salute  he  who is always in peace, salutations  and  salutation to Govinda

 

 20. നരസിംഹമൂർത്തി

ഉഗ്രം വീരം മഹാവിഷ്ണും

ജ്വലന്തം സർവ്വതോമുഖം

നൃസിംഹം ഭീഷണം ഭദ്രം

മൃത്യുമൃത്യും നമാമ്യഹം

 

Ugra veeram- Angushtaabhyaam nama

Maha Vishnum-Tharjaneeyaabhyaam nama

Jwalantham   sarvatho mukham-Madhyamaabhyam nama

Nrusimham   bheeshanam anamiikabhyaam nama

Bhadram mruthyum  Mruthyum –Kanishtikaabhyaam nama

Namamyaham-  Kara thala  kara  prushtaabhyaam  nama

 

Say “Ferociously  valorous hero ”   and touch chest  with thumb

Say “ Great Vishnu” and touch chest   with pointer finger

Say “all faces   are  burning  “ and touch chest with middle finger

Say  “Ferocious  man lion” and touch   chest  with ring finger

Say “Safe death   death” and touch the chest   with little finger

 

 

 

ഓം നമഃശീവായ

 

ശിവം ശിവകരം ശാന്തം ശിവാത്മാനം ശിവോത്തമം

ശിവ മാര്‍ഗ്ഗപ്രണേതാരം  പ്രണതോസ്മി സദാശിവം

Salutations to the ever peaceful Lord Sada Shiva,
Who is the abode of peace,
Who makes peace,
Who is peaceful,
Who is the soul of peace,
Who is the acme of peace,

വന്ദേ ശംഭുമുമാപതിം സുരഗുരും  വന്ദേ ജഗല്‍ക്കാരണം

വന്ദേ പന്നഗഭൂഷണം  മൃഗധരം വന്ദേ പശൂനാംപതിം

വന്ദേ സൂര്യ ശശാങ്കവഹ്നിനയനം വന്ദേ മുകുന്ദ പ്രിയം

വന്ദേ ഭക്തജനാശ്രയം ച വരദം  വന്ദേ ശിവം ശങ്കരം

Vandhe Jagathkaaranam
Vandhe PanaBhooshanam mruhadharam
Vandhe Pasoonaam pathim
Vandhe Soorya Shasaankavahninayanam
Vandhe Mukundhapriyam
Vandhe Baktha Janasrayamsvratham
Vandhe Shivam Sankaram

Salutations to Shambu, consort of Uma and teacher of devas,
Salutations to the cause of the world,
Salutations to him who wears serpent as ornament 
Salutations to him, who holds a deer,
Salutations to the Lord of all beings,
Salutations to him, who has sun, moon and fire as eyes.
Salutations to him, who likes Lord Vishnu,
Salutations to him, who provides succour to his devotees,
Salutations to Shiva and Shankara

 

അന്യഥാ ശരണം നാസ്തി ത്വമേവ ശരണം മമ

തസ്മാത്  കാരുണ്യ ഭാവേന  രക്ഷ രക്ഷ മഹേശ്വര.

 

Anyadha Saranam Nasthi , thwameva  Saranam mama

Thasmadh  karnuya bhavena Raksha , Raksha Maheswara

 

I d not have any protection about you, you only are my protection

And so please in a merciful mod, Oh Great God   Protect, protect me
