Odi vaa , Odi vaa Kanna( Malayalam)
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander
1.Odi vaa , odi vaa vaa, kannan oda kuzhalumai
Kaadellam Payye thedi, Balaramanum balarumai
Peeli kar koonthal ketti, mulla maalayum mele charthi
Kumkuma pottum thottu, Kalla punchiri thooki thooki
Come running, come running, come Krishna with flute
Searching cows all over forest, along with Balarama and boys
Tying peacock feather on black hair, tying jasmine garland over it
Putting a kumkum thilak, and showing false little smile
2.Pattu kaupeenam ketti, nalla manja poonchela chuthi
Kaalil chilambaninju, kayyil kaali meyukkunna kolum
Tying silk loin cloth , tying good flowery yellow cloth over it
Wearing anklet on legs, Holding stick to mind cattle in his hand
3.Palakka mothiramum vana malayum chaarthi kannan
Poornamayi ambadiyum, paripoornamai ambadiyum
With palakka ring and wearing forest garland our Krishna
Completely in grazing place, very completely in grazing place
4.Ambadi thannilulla kochu kannane, kandeedugil
Janmam saphalamakum , nara janmam saphalamakum
If we see little Krishna who is in grazing land
The life would be fruitful, the human life would be fruitful
5.Vedantha pon kadhire, yende ananda then kuzhambe
Paadaravindam thozhaam , yenikku aadaaram neeye Krishna
Oh golden bristle of philosophy, My joyful mixture of honey
I will salute your lotus like feet, You are my support oh Krishna
