1.Shambho maha deva  Sankara  , Sri Kanda,

Chandra Chooda Bhaje  palaya  maam,

Ambinodendennude mumbil  vilanganam,

Kumbhi  mukha  hare  palaya maam.

1.Oh Shambu  , Oh great God  , Oh Sankara , Oh Srikanta,

I pray  Lord who wears  the moon , please protect me,

With love   you should come   and appear  before me,

Oh Killer  of   Gajamukhasura  , please  protect me.

2.Aaraanju  vanningu sevikkunnorkkellam,

Ayussu nalgeedum  Viswa nadhan,

Ikkandavakkellam  eesanaai  palippan,

2,To all those who come in search to serve ,

The  Lord Viswanadha   would give  long life  ,

The fourteen worlds  ,  please protect me,

4.Oonangal koodathe vannidum mruthyukkal,

Parathozhikkunna  Neela Kandan,

Eranakulam   thannil vanaruledunna,

Gangadhara jaya  palaya  maam.

Not see   deaths   which   come unexpectedly,

Oh Lord who carries the ganges   and lives,

In Ernakulam   victory to you, protect me  .

9.Oh Lord who is worshipped   as help   for  ,

Starting   any activity   or effort,

Oh Viswanadha who took the form of a hunter,

To remove the sorrow which  came to Pandavas.

10.Orumayulla  jala dharakinnippol,

Upamayai   cholluvaan  Mathonnundo?

Orathe ulloru udhara   santhapathe,

Nasam varuthunna  Viswanadha.

10 .Is there  anything  that can be told ,

As comparison to unified   fall of water?

Oh Viswanatha   who   destroys  the ,

Unexpected  pain of   the belly  ?

11.Oushadhamayulla  dhara  yelkkuvaan,

Yushmala krupa  vannudhichedenam,

Anju  swayoomboonum  vevere koopuvaan,

Ayyo   yenikku   varam tharenam.

11.For  getting  wet  with the  flow of medicines,

Your warm grace   should come and appear ,

Also I   should be   given a  boon to see ,

The five self made  Lingas   separately  .

12.Ambili thellum aakasa  gangayum ,

Thumbayum chambalum bangiyode,

Shambo mahadeva Sankara  Sri Kanta,

1,Naranayingane  janichu  bhoomiyil,

Naraka varidhi  naduvil jnan ,

Narakathil ninnu  kara krethidenam ,

Thiru Vaikom vazhum Shiva shambo

1.As a human being  I was born in this earth ,

In the  middle of   the ocean of hell,

You would make me climb out of hell,

Oh Shiva, Oh Shambu   who lives in divine  Vaikom.

2.Marana  kalathu  bhayathe  chinthichal,

Mathi marannu  pom  manamellam,

Manatharil  vannu  vilayaadidenam,

Thiru Vaikom vazhum  Shiva Shambo

2.When  we think about the   fear  at death,

The mind   would  forget  everything,

And so you have to come and play inside my mind,

Oh Shiva, Oh Shambu   who lives in divine  Vaikom.

3.Shiva  shivayonnum  parayaathalle  ,

Mahaa  maaya thande   prakruthikal,

Mahaa maya  neekeetu arulenam  Nadha,

Thiru Vaikom vazhum  Shiva Shambo

3.Oh Shiva, Shiva    it is not possible to tell,

The nature  of the Goddess Mahamaya,

Oh Lord   remove my great illusion  and bless me ,

Oh Shiva, Oh Shambu   who lives in divine  Vaikom.

4.Valiyoru kattil akapatten aham,

Vazhiyum kaanathe  yuzhalumbol,

Vazhiyil ner vazhi yarulenam,

Thiru Vaikom vazhum  Shiva Shambo

4,I got caught   in a  very big forest  ,

And when I was wandering  without  knowing the way,

You should   tell me   the straight path in that  place,

Oh Shiva, Oh Shambu   who lives in divine  Vaikom.

5.Eluppamayulla  vazhiye  kanumbol,

Idakkide yaru  padiyundu,

Padiyaarum   kadannavide  chellumbol,

Shivane kaanakum Shiva  Shambho.

5.Wherever I see   an easy   way ,

I find  often  six steps  ,

When I cross  the six steps  and  reach there,

I would be able to see  Lord Shiva, Oh Shiva , Oh Shambhu.

1,Oh lord who gives light m, who has a stainless  form , Who makes  the day,

Who loves his devotees  , Who destroys  sins  ,

Your form  should  appear  before my mind,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

2.Aarkkume thiriyatha   vadivaaya,

Bhaskarane  , param purushaa potthi,

AArthi theerthenne  kathu   aruleedenam,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

2,Oh God who se form is known to any one  ,

Oh God who gives light  , Oh divine Purusha , I praise  you  ,

You should  remove  my pains   and protect me,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

3,Indal naalil perugi   varunnithu,

Kandamaya  maha vyadhiye  kondu,

Kandathilla   kazhivathinnethume  ,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

3,In the dangerous  great illness,

Which is increasing these   days,

I am not able   to find any solution,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

4.Easwara , Chikitsippanum alalla,

Vaacha   nasangal kondu   kazhi varaa,

Cherchayum kettu vadiyen manasam,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

4.Oh God   , there  is no one   to treat me  ,

And there is no end to   the problems that   are coming ,

And losing  hope , my mind  is wilting,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

5.Umbar Nayaka thamburane vibho,

Gaambeeryaarnava  kel meyyilemgume  ,

Vanpu  polulla Vyadhi  pidi pettu,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

5.Oh Lord   who is the leader  of the Devas,

Oh Lord  who came from the majestic sea , please hear ,

Great sickness has come all  over my body.

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

6.Oozhi mel  irunneduvaan aagraham,

Naazhiga  poalumillini parkkumbol,

Deha  peeda  sahippan   aalalla,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

6.when I think about it  , I do not have  ,

Desire   to live  in this world   even for a short time ,

As I am not able to pear the  pain of the body,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

7.Ettu dikkilum  ezhu ulagingalum,

Drushtamaya bhuvana thrayathilum,

Vettam kaattuuvaan  pettennu udhichidum,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

7. In all directions in all seven worlds,

And in that  three worlds that we can see,

You rise  up   very quickly   show  light,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

8.Edalar   sara vairiyum  Brahmanum,

Koda kkar mukhil  vannanum  vinnorum,

Kedaththeedunna  chevadi  cheruvaan,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

8.Lord Shiva   who is enemy of Manmatha . Brahma  ,

Lord Vishnu of the colour of rich cloud ,  and the devas.

Are trying   to merge with your feet which has no shortcomings.

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

9.Ayyo  kashtam  mudangiya sanavum,

Kayyum kaalum  vasam kedimmingsne

Sayya thanil kiidathumaaru  aakalle,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

9. Alas with my   delayed  movements  ,

My hands and legs are  not under my control,

But do not make  me bedridden,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

10.Ottozhiyatheyulla Maha Vyadhi,

Kashtam mennu parayunnathu kettal,

Chuttu meeri yeriyunnen manasam,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

10.When I hear that this great diseases,

Would not ever reduce even a bit  ,

My mind feels like  being burnt down,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

11.Orthalenthu  porul yen Jagannatha  ,

Marthanda vibho dheena dhayanidhe ,

Chitha karunyam   mengal undakanam,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

11.Oh Lord of the world, what is the meaning  of remembering it  ,

Oh Lord  Sun  , Oh  treasure of mercy   to the suffering,

Please   have mercy  in your mind towards  me.

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

12.Oushadhangal onnu ariyunnilla,

Sevippanum aalalla  vazhi poale  ,

Yi vannam sthuthi yadharaal  cheyyunnen,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

12, I am not able to understand about medicines,

And I am not able to take them correctly  ,

And So I am praying  like this praising you,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

13.Arka , melil marana samayathu,

Trikazal inayodu cheruvaan,

Trukkan parthu   anugrahichidenam,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

13.Oh God Sun , At the time  of my death,

You have see   with your  divine eyes,

And  bless  me to merge with your divine feet,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

14.Aadhi nadha , jagan nivasa  vibho,

Jyothi roopa , shubha graham pungava,

Vyadhi nigraha, niramala  nithyavum,

Adhithya bhagawane vangunnen.

14.Oh primeval lord  , Oh Lord who lives in the world,

Oh Lord having lustrous form  , Oh great auspicious planet ,

Oh  killer of diseases, Oh pure one  , daily  ,

I am saluting   the  Sun God.

15.Adithya bhavande  prasadam  kondu,

Aayussundai varenam   kidangalkku,

AAdhiyum maha  Vyadhiyum  koodathe,

Rakshicheedanam yende easwara.

(This is the prayer  addressed  to Goddess  Sarada  of Sringeri. Kamalaja  here refers to Lord Brahma  and Dayitha  is consort  I,e It is a  stotra addressed   to  Goddess  Saraswathi  ,In the text of the stotra it is clearly brought   out that  it is a prayer  addressed to Goddess  of Sringeri. I found this in  the stotra compilation called “Jaya  Mangala Stotram”  by Brahmasri Sengalipuram  Anantha Rama  Deekshithar .SrI Deekshithar  mentions that   it is written by Swami Vidyaranya Theertha  of Sringeri . But in Stanza seven of the stotra  it is indicated   that  saints like  Vidhya Theertha  were  seen  worshipping her.This leads to the surmise   that  it was  written by some Disciple of Vidhyaranya  Theertha. The web site of Sringeri Mata   does not make   any reference to this   great  stotra. )

1.Srunga kshama brun nivase suka mukha munibhi sevyamanagri padme,

Swangachaya vidhoothamrutha karaSura rat vahane vaksavithri,

Shambhu srinatha mukhyamara vara  nikarai modatha  poojyamaane,

1.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Who lives   in the  Sringa girim, whose lotus like feet are  worshipped  by Sukha and other sages,

Who  by the luster  of her body   removed  the  moon as well as  the steed  of king of devas, who gives  power of speech,

And who is  with great joy  worshipped   by Lord shiva  . Lord Vishnu and important devas.

2.Kalyaadhou  Parvatheesa  pravara  sura gana prarthitha srouthavarthma,

Prabhalyam  nethukaamo yathi vara vapushagasthya yaam srunga saile  ,

Samsthapyarchi prachakre bahu vidha  nadhibi saathvamindhvartha  chooda,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

2.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Who  was consecrated in Srunga giri  by  the great  Sage Sankara  ,  who was an incarnation of  Lord Shiva,

Who took that  form at the request  deva groups  in the beginning   of the  Kali age  ,

For conducting   the  Yagas   as prescribed   in the world by the  Vedas.

3,Papougham   dhwamsayithwaa  bahu jani   rachitham  kimcha punyaalimaarath,

Sampadhya asthikya   budhim sruthi guru vachaneshva adharam  Bhakthi dhardyam,

DEvaacharya dwijathishvapi manu nivahe thaavakeene nithaantham,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

3.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Who destroys  the crowds of sin committed by me in various births, saved  the heaps of blessed deeds,

Who earned for me  religious intellect by making me respect  Vedas , teachers words and firm devotion,

Also made  me respect devas, Gurus,  Brahmins and made  to have firm devotion to the   collection of manthras.

4.Vidhyaa mudaraaksha  maala amrutha ghata   vilasath pani  padhoja jaale  ,

Vidhya dhana  praveene   jada bhadhira mukhebhopi   seegram  nathebhya,

Kamaadhinantharaan  math sahaja   ripu varaan   devi  nirmoolya   vegaath,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

4.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Who holds  in her lotus like hand the seal of knowledge , rudarksha  garland, pot filled with nectar

Who is an expert in giving knowledge  to your devotees who are idiots, deaf   and dumb  speedily  ,

And also please  speedily remove my enemies inside  like passion   anger and other bad  characters.

5.Karma  swathmo chitheshu  sthiratharadhihanaam   deha daardya   thadartha ,

Deerga chayur yasacha   tri bhuvana   vidhitham   papa margaad virakthim,

Sath sangam sath kadhaaya sravanamapi  sadaa  devi   dathwaa  krupaabdhe ,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

5.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

And Oh ocean of mercy  always give me  a stable mind  to do  proper actions which are  to be followed,

Strength of the body   to do those actions and also long life , fame in all the  three   worlds,

As well as good  company and opportunity   to hear  stories that are good.

6.Mathaa sthwath pada  padmam   navidhi kusumai   poojitham jathu bhakthyaa,

Gathum  naivaham eeso jadamathiralasathwath gunaan  divya padhyai,

Mooke sevaa  vihene  apyanupama you are showering    karunamarbhake   ambheva  kruthwaa,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

6.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Oh Mother, I have never ever  with devotion worshipped  properly your  lotus like feet  with flowers,

I am  not fit   to sing about your divine  feet    using good verses as I am an idiot  as well as not active,

But  you  are showering me  who does not serve you  with mercy  like a mother   towards   a  dumb child.

7.Santhyaadhyaa sampadhi   may  vithara shubhakareer nithya thad binna bhodham,

Vairagyam  moksha vaanchaam api  laghu kalaya   sri shivaa   sevyamaane  ,

Vidhyaa theerthaadhi   yogi pravara kara   sarojath   sampoojithaangre  ,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

7.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Also please give me wealth like peace and oh consort  of  Lord Shiva who is fit  to be served by Lakshmi  and Parvathi,

Please also give me  wisdom  to  recognize perennial  and temporary  things, sense  of detachment  ,

Desire  for getting salvation  , OH goddess   whose lotus feet was  worshipped  by sages like  Vidhya theertha.

8.SAcchid roopathmano may   sruthi manana nidhidhyaasanaan aasu  matha  ,

Sampadhya  swantha methadruchi yutham anisam  nirvikalpe   samadhow  ,

Thungaa theerangarajadwara  griha  vilasad  chakra  rajasanasthe ,

Vidhyam shuddhamscha budhim  kamalaja  dayithe sathwaram dehi mahyaam.

8.Please Immediately  give me knowledge  and  pure intellect  oh  darling of the lotus  born,

Oh Mother  help me who has a truly divine mind   to get   speedily   the ability  ,

To know Vedas  and  understand their inner  meaning  of   what  I read,

Help me to be in Nirvikalpa Samadhi , Oh Goddess who occupies ,

The  throne of Sri Chakra   in the temple    on banks of thunga river.

(The verses of this immortal  Lullaby  (a portion of the book Perumal Thirumozhi) were composed by a prince of the Chera dynasty called Kulashekara Azhwar (Called Kula shekara perumal in Kerala)He was also called Mudaliyandan Nambi . He was one of the 12 sages of the Bhakthi cult of Vaishnavism called Azhwars.These sages were the minstrels of God who traveled from place to place and sang the praise of Lord Vishnu. This lullaby   is addressed   to The Lord Rama  (Lord Sauri Raja  Perumal)  of  THirukannapuram (Near Thirupugalur  which is near Nagapattinam)   .  The Idol in this temple   does not show the symbol of blessing but only the symbol of receiving .It is believed  that Lord with hands  is receiving  all the problems and suffering of   the devotees, , This is normally sung as a Raga Malikai     and you can hear it sung in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2qQHVLvnjw )

2.Pundarika malar adhan mel  bhuvani  yellam padaithavane ,

2.Oh Lord who created    all the worlds through Lord Brahma

You bent your bow  to cut the head  of  the very strong  THadagai,

Oh my darling   of the Thirukannapuram   who charmed  the minds of those  who saw you,

Oh Lord who ruled all eight   directions,  Oh  best of Raghu clan , please  do sleep.

3.Kongu mali  karum kuzhalaal   kosalai than   kula  madalaai,

THangu perum   pugazh   janakan   thiru marugaa  Dasarathi,

Gangayilum   theerathamali   kanna purathu yen karu maniye  ,

Engal kulathu    innamudhe  Raghavane  thalelo.

3,Oh dear darling baby of   Kausalya   who decorates her black hair  with Jasmine  from Kongu Nadu,

Oh son of Dasaratha  who is the son in law   of  Janaka   who has perennial fame .

Oh my darling   of  the  temple   of Tirukannapuram    where  water holier than  ganges  flows,

Oh my sweet nectar  of our clan     Oh  best of Raghu clan , please  do sleep.

4.Thamarai mel ayan avanai  Padaithavane   dayarathan than  ,

Maa madhalai   Maithili  than  Manavalaa  Vandinangal,

Kaamarangal isai  padum, kanna purathu yen kan maniye  ,

Emaruvum  silai valava  ,  Raghavane  thalelo.

4.Oh Lord who created  Lord  Brahma   on the lotus on your navel,

Oh great son of Lord Dasaratrha, Oh consort  of Goddess  Maithili ,

Oh my darling of Thirukannapuram , which is hovered by several  singing  bees,

Oh Lord   who holds a strong  divine bow in your hands,   Oh  best of Raghu clan , please  do sleep.

5.Paralum  padar  selvam   Baratha nambikke   aruli  ,

Aaraa   anbu  ilayavanodu   arum kanam adainthavane  ,

Seeralum   varai marba , thiru kannapurathu   Arase  ,

Taralum  neel mudi   dasarathe    Thalelo.

5.Oh Lord  who gave   the kingdom   and  the great spreading wealth  to Bharatha,

And reached   the  deep  forest  along with your younger with never quenching love,

Oh Lord    who has a strong divine chest  and who is the king of Thirukannapuram,

Oh  son of Dasaratha   with a long hair decorated by flowers, please do sleep

6.Sutram yellam   pin thodara   tol kaanam   adainthavane  ,

Athravar  ahathu aru   marundhe , ayodhi naharukku   adhipathiye  ,

Kattravaraal   thaam vaazhum  Kanapurathen  kanmaniye  ,

Sithravai than sol konda sri Rama  Thalelo.

6.Oh Lord who reached  deep in the forest  followed by all relatives,

Oh Lord who is the cure to the mind  of sages and  who is the king of Ayodhya,

Oh darling of Thirukannapuram  which  is occupied  by learned people  ,

Oh  sri Rama    who followed the orders of his step mother , please do sleep

Valiyai kondru   arasu  ilaya  vanarathukku   alithavane  ,

7.Oh Lord  who   as young baby on a banyan tree leaf  and  swallowed   the earth,

Oh Lord who killed Vali   and gave the  kingdom to his younger  brother,

Oh Darling of Thirukannapouram where the  wind brings   precious gems from ocean,

Oh Lord  of the city of waves  , Oh  Lord of Ayodhya  , please   do sleep.

8.Malayathanaal  anai katti    mathil ilangai  azhithavane ,

Alai kadalai   kadainthu amararkku   amudhu aruli  cheithavane ,

Kalai   valavar   thaam vaazum  kana purathu   yen kan maniye,

Silai  valaivaa   sevagane  , Si Rama  Thalelo.

8.Oh Lord who  built a dam using mountains   and destroyed  Lanka protected by a wall,

Oh Lord who churned   the ocean with waves  and gave nectar   to the  Devas,

Oh my darling of Thirukannapuram   which is occupied by those who makes   arts grow,

9.Oh  baby  of the clan of Dasaratha  , with a fragrant long hair  ,

Who by bending one bow   destroyed  Lanka   surrounded  by walls,

Oh my darling  of Thirukannapuram   where  very pretty flowers  blooms,

Oh Lord who has great love towards  your younger brothers, Oh baby of Raghu clan  , please do sleep.

10.Devarayum asurarayum   thisaikalayum  padaithavane  ,

Yaavarum vanthu   adi vananga aranga nagar  thuyindravane ,

Kaviri nal  nadhi payum  Kannapurathu yen  karu maniye,

10.Oh Lord who created  the devas , asuras   and the directions,

Oh Lord Who sleeps in Sri Rangam   making all others come there  and   salute your feet,

Oh darling of Thirukannapura  , where the good river Cauvery flows.

11.Kanni   nan  ma mathil pudai   soozh  kanapurattu  yen Kakuthan,

Thannadi mel  thalelo  , endru uraitha  thamizh malai ,

Kol navilum   vel Valavan  kudai Kula shekaran sonna  ,

Panniya nool paathum  vallar  pangayapangaya  pattharkale

11.The King Kula shekara  with trident   who ruled   his kingdom below one royal umbrella,

Has sung   this garland  in Tamil  as a lullaby    to make  sleep,

The Kakushta(Rama)  who lives  in THirukannapuram   surrounded by walls  ,

Which consists  of ten verses   and would   surely bless  all his devotees.

(This Bhajan is addressed to  the Sun having  twelve forms viz  Dhatha, Aryama, Mithra, Varuna , Indra , Vivasvan  , Thwashta, Vishnu  , Amsuman , Bhaga   pusha   and Parjanjna.These twelve Adithyas   rule over the world  for  the Hindu months starting from  Mesha(March-april) . It is emotional and heart touching   unlike other  stotras  addressed  to  Sun God )

1.Arka, surya , dhivakara, bhuvana thrayathinnu  Nayaka,

Ul kurunnil  udhikka nin  krupa  yeppozhum deivame ,

Dushkruthangal ozhichu maam  pariraksha  cheivathinnai,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

1.Oh lord who is like crystal  . who makes the day  and  lord of the three  worlds,

Oh God ,  let your    grace   rise  up in the corner  of my mid always,

2.AAdhitheya namukku vyadhiyum , aadhiyum  , nidhanathwavum ,

2.Oh son of Adithi  , We are getiing  sickness , worries , getting looked down,

Sorrow   and anguish  in a very large  scale  , Oh  treasure of mercy,

And for the sake of removing them  like darkness  , with  joy ,

3.Yithranalum yenikku   vyadhikal yeevannam   varumaarulla,

NIswanayathu kondu  mathoru upayam illathakathuvaan,

Bhaktha vathsalanaya nin krupa yenniye  , bhuvaneswara,

3.All these days   I was not getting   this much of sickness ,

Being   silent   I do not have   any  waty to get rid of them,

Oh Lord of the universe , without   your  grace as you love  your devotees,

4.EEswaraa  durithangal ottu ozhiyathe  cheithahu  kondu jnan,

Vaacha   roga daridra  peedakalodu   vannu pirannaho,

Kasyapathmaja kai thozhaam  ithu theerthu palanam   cheika maam,

4.Oh God   due to my doing   evil deed   without   stop, I was bor,n,

Along  with  the evils  of diseases  and  poverty  and,

Oh  son of Kasyapa I salute you, please  put an end to them and look after  me,

5.Ul kurunnil orikkalum  Sukhamilla , nin krup kondu may  ,

Dukhamokke ozhinju  ozhinju sukham varum drudam yennu may  ,

Arka deva, manassil orthu dhinam  namaskruthi   cheyyunnen,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

5.Thoough there  is no happiness  inside my mind , I   firmly  believe that,

Due to your grace   all those   sorrows would go away ,

Oh crystal like God thinking this daily   , I am saluting   you ,

6.Ooda modhamod odoti  mandi nadannu jnan   bahu  rogiyai,

Veedu pukku kidannithaa valayunnu  Varija  bandhava ,

AAdal orthu azhakodu peeda varaathe palanam  cheyyuvaan,

6.Robbed of my joy  , I walked   and ran as   a  greatly sick  person,

And now I am struggling    to get   salvation,  of friend of lotus  flower,

And  remembering my future   for   prettily protecting   me   from the misery ,

7.Yere jnanikalaayavarkku   Easwaran  bhuvanthil,

Undennu  urakkanamengilo  thava  mandalam bahu shobhayai ,

Poorava sailam athinnu mel  parichodu kananam  nithyavum,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

7.Possibly for   very wise  people   firmly believe  ,

That   your greatly shining   form  is definitely there   in this universe,

They have   to daily   be able to see   you at the top of the eastern mountain,

8.Iyli  villinnu thulyamai maruvum thavangri  yugathine  ,

Kai thozhaathe marannirikkil  aneka  roga daridranai,

8.If   a person forgets to salute  your   great   form which has the luster of lightning,

He would be   subjected   to very many  diseases   and    suffer poverty,

Would lose   all his strength   and would beg walking with help of walking stick,

9.Onnuo polum   aneka  moorthikal onnu  thanneyengilum,

Kandu kai thozhuvanum indal agathuvanum   yenikkaho,

Kaanmanilla  dinesa nee ozhinjareyum  , bhuvaneswara,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

9. Though  all the  Gods with different   forms   are only one,

For me   to see and salute   and to get   all my problems   removed,

Oh Lord of the day, I  am not able to see  any one, Oh lord of the universe,

Oh Lord Sun  , Oh Lord of the day  , Oh  creator of light  , I salute you oh God   with twelve forms.

10.Odi vannu kruthantha kimkarar okkeyum yennude   anthike  ,

Kooduvaan  idi poale aarthu anayunna   nera maduthu nee,

AAdal theerthu azakodu  peeda varathe   palanam  cheiga maam,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

10.When my end comes near  the  servants  of God of death,

Come rushing to me  and shout like thunder   and at that time,

You please   stop your  sports and protect me    from having great pain,

11.Oushadhadhikal  kondu ozhipaathinnu aarumila, hare, hare ,

Vyadhiyayathu anekam undu udare  valarnnu  varunnaho,

Daivame  ithu theerthu palanam  cheivathinnu   viseshamai,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

11 There  is no one here   to cure   with   different medicines, Oh lord, Oh Lord,

There   are several diseases within my stomach and alas   they keep on growing,

Oh God ,please put an end to them and  to specially look after  me,

12.Akkanam thava  roopam okkeyum  ul kurunnil  udhikkilo,

Ulkkale   bahu soukhyavum   varum , ugra  vyadhi ozhinju pom,

Mal kruthangalil  ulla  dushkruthavum  kshayichu   sukham varum,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

12,But if at that time    your form rises   inside  one’s mind,

There would be great comfort in the mind, serious  diseases would get cured,

And al the   wrongs in my actions  would vanish   and please would come,

13.Vatha  peeda kazhangal   soola mahodharam krumi  kasavum,

Svasa  gunma  bagantharangal   prameha   kushta    ganangalum,

Pada kunthalamadhi  rogam  ananjjedaathe agathuvan,

Surya  deva  , Dhinesa  , bhaskara, dwadasathma namosthuthe.

11.Rhematism  , suffering , Phlegm,      , dropsy  . insects  , tuberculosis,

Diseases of breathing  , fistula  , diabetes , leprosy    and other diseases,

And diseases of the hair and the feet  may please  be stopped  and be removed.

1.Adatha   sampravakshyami  moola manthra   sthavam shivam,

Japathaam srunvathaam   nrunaam   bukthi  mukthi  pradhayakam

1.Now I  am going to teach you  the moola manthra  sthava ,

Which if read or heard   , would grant prosperity  and salvation.

2.Sarva shatru kshaya  karam  sarva  roga  nivaranam,

Ashtaiswarya  pradham nityam,  sarva lokaika  pavanam.

2.This which is most divine    in all the   worlds , would destroy  all  your enemies,

Would   cure all diseases  and   would grant you  eight  types of wealth.

3.Sarar aranyo udhbhavo  skandham  , saranagatha  palakam,

Saranam thwaam prapannasya  , dehi may  vipulaam sriyaam.

3.You who is Skanda  the one who was  born from the  forest of twigs,

Who looks after  those who surrender  to him  , should grant  great prosperity,

To  this  devotee who has  dedicated  himself to you  and has  surrendered to you.

4.Raja raja sakhodbootham   rajeevayatha  lochanam,

Ratheesa  koti soundaryam  dehi may   vipulaam sriyam.

4,You are one born  to the  friend  of Khubera  , who has lotus like  eyes,

And who has one crore times more beauty than god of love, please   give me great prosperity.

5.Balaari pramukhiar vandhya, vallee indraani suthaa pathe  ,

Varadasritha  lokaanaam  , dehi may  vipulaam sriyam.

 5.You are  one saluted  by  great devas  , who is consort of Valli  and daughter of  indrani,

And who gives boons  to those  who depend on him  , please  give me great  prosperity.

6.Naradhadhi  maha yogi sidha gandharva  sevitham,

Nava veerai poojithaangri  dehi  may  vipulam  sriyam.

6.You are one worshipped by Narada, great yogis, Sidhas   and Gandharwas,

And who has a feet that is worshipped by nine heroes, please  give me great prosperity.

7.Bhagwan  Parvathi  sooono swamin  bhaktharthi  banjana  ,

Bhavath padabjaow  bhakthim  , dehi may  vipulaam sriyam.

7. Oh God You   are son of Lord Shiva  and Goddess Parvathi , who removes sufferings  of devotees,

Please give me   devotion to your lord’s feet   and great  prosperity.

8.Vasu dhanyam   yasa  keerthi   avichedham   cha  santhathey,

Shathru nasana  madhyasu   dehi may   vipulam   sriyaam.

8.Please give me   gold, grains  , fame in this world and heaven , children without break,

And destruction of my enemies immediately and also  great prosperity.

9.Idham shadaksharam  stotram   subrahmanyasya   santhatham,

Ya padeth thasya   sidhyanthi   sampada achithadhika.

9. If this six lettered   prayer   of  Subrahmanya   is  daily,

Chanted, he will get great  wealth much beyond his   expectations.

10.Hrudabje bhakthitho   nithyam  subrahmanyam  smaranbudha ,

Yo japeth  pratharuthaya  sarvaan kamaanavapnuyath.

10.That  wise person  who daily   with devotion  thinks of God Subrahmanya  in my mind,

And chants  his name daily as soon as he gets up in the morning ,Would achieve all his desires.
