Saranamayyappa  , saranamayappa,

Sabari malayil minnum swami saranam,

Srimad  bhagawatham  nannai paaduvaanum kelkkuvaanum.

Sri manala  premamrutham  nukaruvaanum,

Saamodham  nin paadha padmam  seema  vittu  sevikkuvaanum,

Naama jaalangal  yeppozhum  japikkuvaanum  (saranamayyappa , Swami  , SAranamayyappa)

I surrender  to Ayyappa, I surrender  to Ayyappa,

Oh Lord   who shines  in Sabari mountain, I surrender,

For  tasting the nectar like love  of  Lord  Vishnu,

And for serving your lotus like feet limitlessly  , with joy,

And for always   chanting your magical names(I surrender to  you  Ayyappa, Oh God…)

Kama krodhadhikalaayum  vaathadhikallayum  mullor,

AAmayangalozhinju onnu manandhikkanum,

Seematheetha  soukhyathode , kaamithangal niraveri,

Naamarutham sevichennum  kazhivaanum (saranamayyappa , Swami  , SAranamayyappa)

For getting rid  of the liabilities like  passion , anger and arguments

And to   enjoy   always with endless,

Trouble free  life  with fulfillment  of all desires.

To spend all  time serving the nectar  of  the names of God (I surrender to  you  Ayyappa, Oh God…)

Vatha nadhanaakum  thava  maathavinde vathsalyam,

Yi paithangalaam  jangalilum  udhikuvaanum,

Bhoothanadha, SAdananda, SArva  bhootha  , dhayaaparaa,

For getting the  affection  of Lord  of Guruvayur  ,

Who is your  mother  , in us also,,

Hey  Lord of Bhoothas,Hey Lord  who is  forever happy, Hey Lord  who is in all beings, Who is merciful,

Please grant us a boon with the mercy  that is born in you, (I surrender to  you  Ayyappa, Oh God…)

Madiyenye madhu ripu  charithatrhe, vaazhthuvaanum,

Adiyangalkku   avidethe  bhajikkuvanum,

Adi malar  kannu  neeraal  kazhukichu namippor,

Yi adiyaaril aliyane, Dharma Sasthave  (saranamayyappa , Swami  , SAranamayyappa)

To praise  without  any reservations  the story of  the enemy of MadhU(Vishnu),

And  for these  slaves  of yours to sing about you,

Let   those  who salute you  who wash your  lotus feet with their tears,

May please merge   with these slaves, Oh Dharma  Sastha  (I surrender to  you  Ayyappa, Oh God…)

Oh mother  who is the great goddess,oh Kathyayani, Oh Ambika, Oh Goddess Durga,

Oh Goddess  Annapurneswari  , please see me with  the corner  of your eyes, so that  good comes

2,Asrayam aarumille  Chothanikkara ammayallethinkku,

Aarilum  ninde sakthi prathi phalichu  aapathu  agatheedenam

Don’t I have any one except mother  of Chothanikkara as my support?

Please project your power on every one  and remove  all dangers

3.Illa  , yenikku  sankha, irul neengi yella idathum yippol,

Ammayaanende koode gamippathum, yenna bodham dharichu

No,I do not have  any apprehension  any where,

As I have firm belief that mother is accompanying me  to all places.

4.Yeerezhu lokarellam niranjulla easwari ninde  naamam,

Yeenamode  irunnu bhajikkuvaan  thonnenam  ende naavil

Oh Goddess  who has filled  up all the fourteen worlds, I should ,

Feel like singing your name  by my toungue with   faith in all places

5.Uthpanna  modhamode, veeraliyaal  uthareeyam dhaarichu,

Bhakthiyulloril alla  bhadre, ninkku otha  polulla   sakthi

Oh Goddess the power equal to you is  not  in those   who with ebbing joy,

Wearing a silken  upper cloth are  showing  devotion to  you.

6.Chela jnorinju uduthu nallambika , chelode  punchiricu,

Pannagathe  yeduthu arayile kinkini  poale  charthi

The good mother  tucked tightly her sari, smiled with prettiness,

And  wore the snake  like a  belled  belt  of the waist

7,Vaalum vala kayyilum  , idam kayyil  dhariyan  thande thala,

Raktham kudichu kondu , maheswari  chitha  santhosham poondu.

Holding  the sword on her  right hand and head  of dharika asura  on her left hand,

And drinking  his blood, The great  goddess  became  happy in her  mind

8,Yethrayo ghora vyadhi samipichu, puthrare  rakshichu nee,

Yee prapanchathil yellaam keerthi ketta   bhadra  kali  namasthe

You cured  several very great  diseases and saved  your sons,

Salutations   to the Bhadrakali who is famous in this  universe

9.SAnkhu chakram dharichu karamathil, pon peedam thannil yeri,

Yethrayum modhathode vilasunna Kathyayani  namasthe

You  carried conch and Chakra  in your hands and climbed up  the golden seat,

My salutations  to Goddess Kathyayani who appears  there with great joy.

Soora padhmaal  upadravam  than sahiyaamal , devarkal thaan,

Maara vairi kitte vanthu murai murayai  kooraluthaar

Unable to bear  the troubles given by  Soorapadma  and others,

The Devas approached  the enemy of Manmatha  and started  teling

Athi kopamaka   eesan ambikayai than paarthu,

Athu moolam rethassu  than   avani thannil than veezha

With great anger  the Lord  stared at the mother Goddess,

And due to that the viurility  of the   God   fell on the earth

Avani porukkamal athai ,

Varunan kayyil than kodukka,

Since the   earth was not able to bear,

It Gave it in the hands of Varuna

Yennal aagathendru othungi nindru than uraithaar,

Haranum athai  yedu yedu  yendru anantharmum than uraikka,

Sivan uraitha sollinaale seegram  agni than yeduthaar,

Angayirunthu yeduthu molla  anna nadayai  nadanthu,

Gangai  thannil kondu vittaar

He told   that  it is not possible  for me  ,

And Lord Shiva again told   take it , take it,

And due to the words of Shiva Lord   Agni took it ,

And from there  slowly walked like   a swan,

And left  it in the ganges

Vaanavarkal  vanthu  mange varisayudan valainthu  nilkka,

Senkathiron  aaru vanthu sevayudan  udithaal poal,

Unable to bear it  river ganges,

Left it  in the saravana bush as  four and two,

And  with all  devas coming there  and stood surrounding with presents,

Just like   the  Sun God   being born in six different partsx,

Oh Arumukha  you were  born out from there

Arinthu  aaru nakshatrangal  irangi vanthu  mulai  kodukka,

Sankariyum arinthu vanthu  sevayudan  pidithu   anaikka,

Sernthathu  aarum sisiukkal  ondraai,

Shanmukham  , kai eeraarai

When all the  six babies started  cryimg together,

Six stars knowing it came  down and fed them breastmilk,

And Goddess  Parvathi knowing  it and with affection embraced them,

All the  babies  became  in to one,

With six  heads  and twelve  hands

Othinaar om nama  yendru avarayum pidithu anaithu,

Veda  srushti cheithavare, velayudhane  paarum,

Onpathaam matharkalai  umakkaka  undu cheithu,

SAmbasivan puthirane  soorarkalai  than vadhikka

She embraced him and said  “Om namo”. And said,

“Oh  God who made vedic creation, Oh  Lord with vEl, please  see,

Who created  the ninth  mother   for  your sake,

And when the son of  SAmbha shiva killed  Sooras,

Thaararkalai  than vaditheer,

DEvarkalai than kaatheer,

You killed THaarars,

And you  protected  the devas

Soorarkalai , than vaditha Soorasamhara  saranam

Ommudaya  leelaikalai  uraithu mudiyaathu yennal,

Yen manathin aasayinaal  , uraithen,

Bhakthan naan koncham

I surrender  to the Soora SAmhara who killed  Sooras,

I am unable to tell  all your  sportds,

But due   to the desire  in my mind,

I as a devotee told this much

I salute the mother of the universe, whose lord of the universe and lord of Venkatsas,

Whoo is the divine  darling of Vishnu, Who enjoys daily staying on his chest,

Who increases his power of forgiveness, whose fingers  are like  the decorated lotus flowersm,

Who is  Sri   who sits on the lotus and who shines  in qualities like affection.

2,Sriman krupa  jalanidhe, sritha  sarva  loka,

Sarvajna saktha, natha  vathsala,sarva  seshin, ,

Swamin  susheela, sulabhasritha, parijatha,

Oh  God who is ocean of  treasure of mercy, on whom the whole  world  depends,

Who knows everything, who is strong, who loves his devotees, Who is capable of doing everything,

Who is lord of those who are well behaved, who is easy to depend,who is the divine flower,

3.AAnoopurararchitha, sujatha, suganthi pushpa,

Saurabhya, soura pakarou, sama  sannivesou,

Saumyena sadhanubhavanebhi, navnanubhavyou,

Oh lord   who is  worshipped from his anklets onwards by well born sweet  smelling flowers,

Who is sweet smelling, who has a sweet form , who has  balanced  feelings,

Who inspite of  his  having soft and good nature  is a novel experience

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara.

4,Sathyo vikasi samudhithwaa santhra  raga,

Saurabhya  nirbhara saroruha saamya  vaarthaam,

Samyakshu sahasa padheshu vilokayanthou,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh lord, The comparison  of your feet , to the newly opened red lotus flowers,

Which are similar  to the  pond  filled   with fragrance,

Is   only considered by all as a  very hasty adventurous act,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

5.Rekhamaya  dwaja  sudhaa kalasaada pathra,

Vajrangusamburuha kalpaka  sankha  chakrai,

Bhavyair alankrutha dalou para thathwa  chihnou,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh lord  , you are having  the scared lines in your feet ,

Your are having a flag, pot of nectar, umbrella,

Thunderbolt, grass lotus   as  well as the  wish giving tree,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

6. Thamrodhara dhyuthi parajitha padma  raghou,

Bahyair mahobhir abhibhoothamahendra neelou,

Udhyan nakhamsubhi rudhastha sasanga bhasou,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

 Oh lord the reddish luster of your lips defeats Padmaragha  gem,

Your exterior   body excels the   blue  colour  of sapphire,

And the colour of your toe nails  have  defeated the luster of the moon,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

7.Saprema bheethi kamalakara pallavaabhyaam,

Samvahanebhi sapadhi klama  padha  dhanou,

Kanthaa vavang  manasa gocharasoukumardhou,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh lord with fear mixed with great love, goddess Lakshmi,with her hands

which are as soft as newly sprouted leaves,your legs   which  are  paining,

And she is your  charming consort and wants to exhibit  her concern to you,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

8,Lakshmi mahee thad anuroopa nijaanubhava,

Neeladhi dhivya mahishee kara pallavaanaam,

AArunya sankramanatha thila santhra  raghou,

Oh God   , whose  legs  become  extremely red   due,

To being massaged by   the divine  hands   of Goddesses,

Lakshmi  , Bhoodevi as well   as Neeladevi who is as great as them,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

9.Nithyaa Namath vidhi shivadhi  kireeda koti=,

Prathyubdha deeptha  nava rathna maha prarohai,

Neerajanaa vidhim udhara mupadha  dhanou,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh God , who  receives lustrous  neeranjana .

Of great luster, due to the luster of none gems.

At the edge of crowns of Brhama, shiva  and others who salute you,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

10.Vishno pathe parama  ithyuditha prasamsou,

Yow madhva  uthsa  ithi  bhogya dhayabhyubathou,

Bhooyastha thethi thava pani thala prathishtou,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh God  , your  palms  are described by  Rig veda as great abode of Vishnu,

And further  exalted as the  fountain of honey in the yajurveda  and,

These grant us  great joy, when  they are  shown to us,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

11.Parthaaya thath  sadrusa saaradhinaa thaw yaiva,

You darsithou  swa charanou saranam vrajethi,

Bhooyopi mahyamiha thou kara  darsithou they,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh God , you showed   your feet as refuge   To Arjuna,

Though you were  his charioteer, then and  you are  showing,

Them in Venkatadri  to me so that  I can seek  refuge in them,’

12.Man moorthi Kaliya  Phane h vikadataveshu,

Sri venkatadri shikare, sirasee   srutheenaam,

Chithebhyananya manasaam   sama  mahithou   they,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh Lord  , you have placed  your feet on my head like  that of Kaliya,

In the thick forests of the   peak   of Venkatadri to destroy my sins

And  you  have also placed them in the hearts of sages  who meditate  on you,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

13.Amlaana hrushya nava neethala keerna  pushpou,

Sri Venkatadrei  sikaraa aabharanaaya  maanou,

Aanandhithakila manonayanou thavaidhou.

Oh Lord , Surrounding  whose  feet , newly opened  flowers,

AS well as withered flowers lie and  become  ornament,

To the  Venkata mountain , making all  persons delighted,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

14,Prayaa prapanna  janathaa pradhamaavagahyaou,

Mathu sthanaaviva siror amruthaayamanou,

Prabdhou paraspara thulaa madhu lantharou  they,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh Lord  whose   feet are  seen by your devotees,
AS nectar like  mother’s breasts, which appears,

To be  very apt to each other and also  incomparable  with any other thing

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

15,Sathvotharais  Satha sevya  paadambujena,

SAmsara  tharaka  dhayardra  drukanjalena,

Soumyo abhsyanthru muninaa  mama   darsi  dhouthe,

Sri Venkatesa charanou saranam prapadhye

Oh Lord  saga Manavatha   showed your feet and told,

That they are   always to be worshipped by  good people,

Whose merciful sight  would help us to cross ocean of SAmsara,

I surrender completely on the feet  of that Venkateswara

16.Srisa , sriyaa  gadikayaa  dwaathu upaaya  bhave,

Praapye dhivi swayamupeyathataa sphuranthyaa,
Nithyaasrithayaa  niravadhya   gunaaya  muninaa  mama  dasithoudhe,

Syaam kinkaro  vrusha   gireesa na  jaathu mahyam.

Oh Lord  of Lakshmi, the  goddess  by a trick  brings ,

Worship of your feet    to attain   your  supreme abode,

And  appears   to be resorting it    to attain your faultless qualities

And I  becomes  servant to thee and not to myself at any time.

1.Gokulam thannil vilangum Mukundande,

Poomeni yeppozhum kanumaarakanam,

Peeli thirumudi kettiyathil chila,

Maalakal chaartheettu  kanumaraganam.

I must be able to see  always , the flower like body,

Of Mukunda   who  shines in Gokula,

I must be able to see  his hair  decoratedby peacock feather,

Adorned with few  flower garlands,

2,Gorochana kuri nalla  thilakavum ,

Omal mukhamathuvum  kanumarakanam,

Punchiri thanchina vaakukalangine,

Vanchanamaam  nokkum kanumarakanam.

I must be able  to see his dear face adorned,

With good thilaka  by gorochana,

I must be able to see his look of deceit,

As well as see his smile along with his talk.

3.Odakuzhal  vilichu achanumammakku,

Icha nalkunnathum kanumarakanam,

Ponnil minnum galam  thannil, puli nakham,

Kundalam charthicheettu  kanumarakam

I must be able to see him  granting desire,

To see   him to his parents by playing the flute,

I would like to see his neck shining likes   gold,

Decorated by chain  in  which tigers claw  and golden globe hangs,

4.Muthukal rathnavum  haaravum kausthubham,

Sri vathsavum  maaril  kanumaarakanam,

Trikaikalil vala, kai viral pathilum,

Mothiram  poondathum  kanumarakanam.

I must be able to see  on his chest pearl and gem studded  ndecklaces,

As well as the kausthubha  gem and the sri vathsa mole,

I must be  able to see  anklets on his legs and rings,

Adorning  all his  ten  fingers.

5,Pani pathmangalil  charutha cherunna,

SAnkha  chakradhiyum  kanumaarakam,

AAlila kothoru udharamathin meethe,

Romavaliyum kaanumaarakam

I  must be able see  the conch and chakra  which add,

Beauty  to his  lotus  like   hands,

I must be able  to a row   of hairs,

Over   his belly which is like abanyan leaf.

6.Peethambara pattu chaarthi arayathil,

Chelaninju yeppozhum kanumaarakanam,

Ponnaranjaanavum  kinkiniyum nalla,

Kaal chilambittathum kanumarakam.

I must able to   see always  hips  where,

He wears   the  red   silk   cloth,

I must be able to see, his  golden waist belt,

AS well  as   the anklets  worn on his legs.

7.Kesavan thanude kesadhi paadhavum,

Kesavaa,nin meni  kaanumaarakanam,

Paaril prasidhamaayidum  guruvaayur,

Vaanarulum Krishnane  Kaanumaarakanam

I must be able  to Oh Kesava, your body,

From  head to foot Oh kesava,

I must be able  to see the world famous Guruvayur,

And  the Lord  Krishna  who lives  there

II

Kaanakenam nin thiruvadiyude,

Poo mei  , pavana puresa,

Kanaka kireedam  kundalam jagad-

Avanam cheyyum  chilli  lathayum,

Kamala dalayutha nayana dwayavum,

Thiru mukavum  , manda smithavum,

I would  like  to see  your  divine self’s,

Flower like body, oh Lord of  Guruvayur,

Your golden crown , ear globes, your,

Climbing plant  like  eye brows  which protrect theworld,

Your  pair of   eyes which are  similar to leaf of lotus,

Your face  and your pretty  slow  smile,

Kande vilasina  kausthubha maniyum,

Kondadina  vana maalakalum,

Chakra  gadambuja  sakrangale,

Kai kondeedunna trikkai  naalum,

Pankaja makalude kongayil izhukina,

Kunkuma pangam kondu ankithamaam,

The  kausthubha gem shining on your  neck,

The  forest garlands  which were  appreciated,

Your four divine  hands   which hold ,

Chakra, Mace, lotus flower  as well as conch.

Which are  coated  with  Kukum  which  .

Were  decorating  the two busts of Goddess Lakshmi

Vaksho dese shobhithamaam  sri ,

Vathsavum adbutha  romavaliyum,

Anda kataha masankhya mirikkum,

Dhanya mathayoru  udharavum yetham,

Nabhi chuzhiyil alamnkruthamai ,

Shobhichidum Brahmavindeyum,

The wonderful Sri vathsa which ,

Shines   on  your chest,

The prosperus  belly  in which,

Innumerable   planets and worlds are  there,

The Brahma  who shines as  ornament ,

To your  belly button

Manjula tharamaam peethambaramum,

Mangala moorthe truthuda  rendum,

Kethakiya  thonneechidum,

Adbutha  jaanu muzhankal  dwayavum,

Bhakthanmaarude  dukham asesham ,

Pokkidum thiru malaradi yinayum,

Mushkodu arukil ananju kruthaanthan,

Vakkanam  thudrumbozh ithingine,

Kaanaakenam   ninthiruvadiyude ,

Poo mei , pavanesa, hare

Your extremely pretty  yellow silk,
Oh auspicious  God, you divine thighs,

Bring to our mind , fragrant  flower of pandanus,

Your wonderful knee  and calves, which are   two each,

And your  two divine feet which would  completely remove,

The sorrow  of   your devotees,

And with pride  when God  of death reaches,

And continue   my meaningless  talk,

I would like to see the flower like body,

Of your divine self, Oh Lord  of Guruvayur, Oh Hari

III

1.Guruvayurappan oru divas am ,
Unniyai  chennudan venattekku

Lord of Guruvayur once  went  ,

AS   a boy  to Venadu

2.Yenthaaye unni, nee ponnathippol,

Panchara payasam  unnanditto

Why my boy, have you come now,

Do you want  to eat Panchara payasam(ugar kheer)

3.Yennal chamathkku orukki  tharaam,

Chamathkku orukeettu  nokkum neram

If So I will  make  arrangements for fire wood,

But when fire wood   started  burning, the boy was not sen.

4.Yengume kaneela Krishnan unniye,

Kandoru  Krishnande thanthonnitham

The boy Krishna was  not found any where,

See the  wanton mischief of Krishna

5.Appozhe kayyonnu  kochi poyee,

Appozhe  nernnu Guruvayurkku

Then his  hands got  numb,

Immediately he prayed  to Guruvayur

6.Ponnum  kireedavum , kinkiniyum,

Ponnu  kondulloru  poonu noolum

7,Guruvayurappande truppadi mel,

Kazhchayai vechithaa  kai thozhunnen

Crown made of Gold, anklets,

A  sacred  thread  made  of Gold,

I will keep on the steps  of the steps of Guruvayurappan,

And then I am salutinh with clapped hands

8,Yende  Guruuvayurappa pothi,

Yende  durithangal agathidenam

Hail my  lord  of guruvayur,

You should remove my sufferings
