அங்கணெடு மதிள்புடைசூ ழயோத்தி யென்னும்
அணிநகரத் துலகனைத்தும் விளக்கும் சோதி
வெங்கதிரோன் குலத்துக்கோர் விளக்காய்த் தோன்றி
விண்முழுது முயக்கொண்ட வீரன் றன்னை,
செங்கணெடுங் கருமுகிலை யிராமன் றன்னைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
எங்கள்தனி முதல்வனையெம் பெருமான் றன்னை
என்றுகொலோ கண்குளிரக் காணு நாளே. 1

 

Anganedu  mathil  pudai  choozha  ayothi yennum

Ani nagarathu  ulaganaithum    vilakkum  chothi

Venkathiron  kulathukor  vilakkai thondri

Vin muzhuthu  maya  konda   veeran thannai

Chenganedn karu mukilai   yiraman  thannai

THillai nagar   thiruchithrakoodam thannul

Yengal thani  mudhalvanai yem peruman thannai

Yendru kolo kan kulira  kanu   naale

 

In the pretty   town  of Ayodhya which had  beautiful places,

And huge  surrounding walls, the flame  which lights  all the worlds

Was born   as the lamp to the    clan of white  sun

As The valorous hero   to destroy sorrows  of all  the  devas
With red eyes  and with colour of black cloud  with name Rama

When will my eyes see with pleasure our  incomparable  causal lord

Who is in thiru chithra  koodam   in thillai nagar,

Who is our lord and  our   god

வந்தெதிர்ந்த தாடகைதன் உரத்தைக் கீறி

வருகுருதி பொழிதரவன் கணையொன் றேவி
மந்திரங்கொள் மறைமுனிவன் வேள்வி காத்து
வல்லரக்க ருயிருண்ட மைந்தன் காண்மின்
செந்தளிர்வாய் மலர்நகைசேர் செழுந்தண் சோலைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
அந்தணர்க ளொருமூவா யிரவ ரேத்த
அணிமணியா சனத்திருந்த வம்மான் றானே. 2

 

Vanthertha  thadagai  than urathai  keeri

Varum kurudhi pozhithara, van kanai yondru yevi

Manthirankol marai  munivan velvi kaathu

Vallarakkar uyirunda mainthan  kanmin

Chenthalirvai  malar  nagai  cher chezhum than cholai

Thillai nagar thiruchithira koodam thannul

Anthanarkal oru  moovayiravareths

Animaniyaasanathiruntha Amman  Thaane

 

Tearing the chest of  THadaga  who came  to fight with him

By sending   one great arrow and making   her blood flow  like a stream

And then protecting the Yaga  of the sage  who was expert in chants and Vedas

Was the   boy  who  killed the   great asuras  , please  see him,

In thillai nagar   chithra koodam  which had flowers in bushes of new leaves,

Three thousand Brahmins   were praying the  lord who was  sitting

On the  incomparable throne and is he not God of all , please see

சினவிடையோன் சிலையிறுத்து மழுவா ளேந்தி
வெவ்வரிநற் சிலைவாங்கி வென்றி கொண்டு
வேல்வேந்தர் பகைதடிந்த வீரன் றன்னை
தெவ்வரஞ்ச நெடும்புரிசை யுயர்ந்த பாங்கர்த்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
எவ்வரிவெஞ் சிலைத்தடக்கை யிராமன் றன்னை
இறைஞ்சுவா ரிணையடியே யிறைஞ்சி னேனே. 3

 

Chevvari  nar  karu  nedunkan seethai kaki

China vidayon chilayiruthi  mazhuvaalenthi

Vevvaro   nar  chilai vaangi vendri  kondu

Vel venthar paga thadintha  veeran thannai

THevvarancha  nedum purisai yuyarntha  pangar

THillai nara   thiru chithira   koodam thannul\

Yevvari   venchilai   thadakkai yiraman thannai

Irainchuvaar inayadiye iainchinene

 

For  the sake of Sita  who had  pretty  long black eyes

He broke the bow of  angry shiva  who rides on a bull ,

Took the  bow from he who carries the axe  , bent and broke it

And won over him and had valour to defeat kings holding a spear

And inside  the thillai  thiruchithra koodam which had huge  border walls

Which made  enemies sscared is Sri Rama who had huge hands holding ,

Huge  and fearfull arrows and  I  saluted his twin feet Prayed to  by  his  devotees

தென்னகரந் துரந்துதுறைக் கங்கை தன்னை
பத்தியுடைக் குகன்கடத்த வனம்போய்ப் புக்குப்
பரதனுக்கு பாதுகமு மரசு மீந்து
சித்திரகூ டத்திருந்தான் றன்னை யின்று
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
எத்தனையும் கண்குளிரக் காணப் பெற்ற
இருநிலத்தார்க் கிமையவர்நே ரொவ்வார் தாமே. 4

 

Thothalar poonchuri  kuzhal  kaikesi chollal

Thennakaram thuranthu thurai gangai thanai

Bhakthiyudai  guhan  kadatha, vanam poi pukku,

Bharathanukku padukamum arasum eendhu

Chithira koodathirunthaanrannai yindru

Thillai nagar   thiruchithra koodam  thannul

Yethanayum  kan kulira kana  pethra

Iru nilathaar kimayavar nerovvar thaame

 

Due to words of Kaikeyi whose curly hair was   decorated by bunches of flowers

Leaving his age old city, Crossing the ganges  river ,

By the help of the  devotee Guha,  and later

  The rama   who was   in the chithra kootas  mountains

   Gave  his slippers and kingship to  BHaratha

And he can be seen nowadays  inside THillai  thiruchithra kootam

With  eyes becoming happy to those people on earth,

And the devas   who do not blink  will never be their equal

வண்டமிழ்மா முனிகொடுத்த வரிவில் வாங்கி
கலைவணக்கு நோக்கரக்கி மூக்கை நீக்கிக்
கரனோடு தூடணன்ற னுயிரை வாங்கி
சிலைவணக்கி மான்மரிய வெய்தான் றன்னைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
தலைவணக்கிக் கைகூப்பி யேத்த வல்லார்
திரிதலால் தவமுடைத்தித் தரணி தானே. 5

 

Vali vanakku  varai  nedul thol viradhai  kondru

Vandamizh ma muni kodutha vaei vil vaangi

Kalai  vanakku   nokkarakki mookai   neekki

Karanodu   thoodanan thKaran along   an  uyirai   vaangi

Chilai  vanakki man mariya  veithan thannai

Thillai nagar thiruchithra koodam thanul

Thalai vanangi kai kooppi yetha  vallar

Thirithalaal thavamudaithi tharani  thaaane

 

After killing Viradha who had mountain like shoulders ,

After getting  the  great arrow  from the great  tamil sage

After cutting of the nose   of the Rakshasi  who could defeat  looks of a deer

After killing the rakshasas Kara  and dhooshana,

The rama who bent the bow   killed the magical  deer

If they who are capable  of saluting   and praying  him in the

Thiruchithra koodam   in thillai nagar  ,

Travel   then this    earth   would   become  holy

தளர்வெய்திச் சடாயுவைவை குந்தத் தேற்றி
வனமருவு கவியரசன் காதல் கொண்டு
வாலியைகொன் றிலங்கைநக ரரக்கர் கோமான்
சினமடங்க மாருதியால் சுடுவித் தானைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
இனிதமர்ந்த அம்மானை இராமன் றன்னை
ஏத்துவா ரிணையடியே யேத்தி னெனெ. 6

 

Than maruvu Vaideki piriyaluthu

Thalarveithi  jadayu vaikundhathu yethi

Van maruvu   kavi arasan  kadhal kondu

Valiyai  kondru yilangainagar  arakkar  koman

Chinamadanga  maruthiyaal  chuduvithanai

Thillai nagar  thiruchithra  kooda thannul

Inithamarntha ammanai raman  thannai

Yethuvaar  inai adiye yethinene

 

After  partng with Vaidehi  who was  darling of God

After getting mentally tired , after  sending jadayu  to Vaikunda

After  falling in love with Sugrreva who was scared  of monkey king Vali

After killing Vali , after  stifling anger  of  Ravana ,

He who got   city   of lanka   burnt  ,

He  sits sweetly  in thillai nagar, thiru  chithira  koodam

Who is god of all  , The god Rama  himself  ,

I prayed to the twin feet  of him who is being prayed to

குலைகட்டி மறுகரையை யதனா லேரி
எரிநெடுவே லரக்கரொடு மிலங்கை வேந்தன்
இன்னுயிர்கொண் டவன்தம்பிக் கரசு மீந்து
திருமகளோ டினிதமர்ந்த செல்வன் றன்னைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
அரசமர்ந்தா னடிசூடு மரசை யல்லால்
அரசாக வெண்ணேன்மற் றரசு தானே. 7

 

Kurai kadalai   adalam paal  maruka  veithu

Kulai katti maru  karayai   adhanaaleri

Yeri neduvel  arakkarodum , ilangai venthan

Innuyir kondu avan thambiku arasu meenthu

Thirumagalodu inithamarntha chelvan thannai

THillai nagar   thiruchithra koodam thannul

Arasamarnthanadi  choodum    arasayallal

Arasu  aaka   yennen   matharasu   thaane

 

Using a cruel arrow , making the  full  ocean

Completely curdled  , building a dam , got up to other shore by that

Fighting with  asuras  with long burning spear and the king of Lanka

And  killing them all  , and giving the  kingdom to his younger brother

He  sat   sweetly with   the lady  who is goddess  Lakshmi

And he  Who sat  to rule is  in the  THillai nagar,

THiru chithira  koodam and by keeping his feet on my head

And I thought I am the king of a different  kingdom

அரசெய்தி அகத்தியன்வாய்த் தான்முன் கொன்றான்
றன்பெருந்தொல் கதைக்கேட்டு மிதிலைச் செல்வி
உலகுய்யத் திருவயிறு வாய்த்த மக்கள்
செம்பவளத் திரள்வாய்த்தன் சரிதை கேட்டான்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
எம்பெருமான் றஞ்சரிதை செவியால் கண்ணால்
பருகுவோ மின்னமுதை மதியோ மின்றே. 8

 

Ambonodu   mani maada  ayothi  yeythi

Araseythi   agathiyan  vaaithaan  mun kondraan

Than  perumthol  kadhai kettu mithilai chelvi

Ulaguyya thiru vayiru   vaitha  makkal

Chempavala  thiral vaithan charithai kettan

THillai nagar thiruchithra   koodam thannul

Yem peruman than charithai cheviyaal kannal

Paruguvom  innamudham   madhiyomendre

Reaching back Ayodhya  with pretty  , golden gem studded   hall

After taking over kingship , he heard about the story  of Ravan

Whom he had killed earlier   from Agasthya,  and heard  Ramayana,

From the sons born to sita , the daughter  of Mithila   so that  ,

World would flourish, by  red pearl like mouth of theirs,

And we   who drank the story by our ears  as mouth,

Of the god   of  THiruchithra  koodam of THillai nagar

Would never bother  about Deva’s sweet nectar  as any thing

செறிதவச்சம் புகன்றன்னைச் சென்று கொன்று
செழுமறையோ னுயிர்மீட்டுத் தவத்தோ னீந்த
நிறைமணிப்பூ ணணியுங்கொண் டிலவணன் றன்னைத்
தம்பியால் வானேற்றி முனிவன் வேண்ட
திறல்விளங்கு மிலக்குமனைப் பிரிந்தான் றன்னைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
உறைவானை மறவாத வுள்ளந் தன்னை
உடையோம்மற் றுறுதுயர மடையோ மின்றே. 9

 

Cherithavach chambukan  thannai   chendru kondru

Chezhumarayon uyir  meettu   thavathoneentha

Nirai mani  poonaniyum  kondu   ilavanan thannai

Thambiyaal vaanethri   munivan venda

Thiral vilangum ilakkumanai pirinthaan thannai

Thillai   nagar  thiruchithra  koodam thannul

Uraivaanai  maravaatha ullam thannai

Yudayom  mathu uru thuyar madayomindre

 

After going and killing   Jambuka who had done great penance

Saving the life of a   learned Brahmin  and making him wear

The invaluable  garland  studded with great gems given by  saint Agasthya

Getting   killed lavanasura  by his brother  SAthrugna,

He   parted   with valorous Lakshmana   due to curse  of sage(Durvasa)

We who have mind   which never  forgets him  who lives in thillainagar  chithirakoodam ,

Will never  get  sorrow that  some things  did not  become  true

அடலரவப் பகையேறி யசுரர் தம்மை
வென்று,இலங்கு மணிநெடுந்தோள் நான்கும் தோன்ற
விண்முழுது மெதிர்வரத்தன் தாமம் மேவி
சென்றினிது வீற்றிருந்த வம்மான் றன்னைத்
தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
என்றும்நின்றா னவனிவனென் றேத்தி நாளும்
இன்றைஞ்சுமினோ வெப்பொழுதும் தொண்டீர் நீரே. 10

 

Andru  characharangaloi vaikndathuthethi

Adalarava  pagayeri  asurar  thammai

Vendru   , ilangu  mani  nedum thol   naangum thondra

ViNmuzhuthum  yedirvarathan   thamam mevi

Chendrinithu veethriruntha vamman thannai

Thillai nagar   thiru chithra koodam thannul

Yendrum   nindraan avanivan yendru yethri naalum

Irainjumino  yeppozhuthum   thondeer  neere

 

On that day  sending all moving and not moving beings  to Vaikunta

Climbing on Garuda who is enemy  of all strong snakes, wining -

Over Rakshasas and shining   with his long   shoulders,

And being welcomed   by everyone  in  deva loka

He went to his  place Vaikunta  and sat  there pleasantly

And you please  pray that god in thilai nagar thiruchithrakoodam

Who is  forever there and forever beg him to be his  servants

தில்லைநகர்த் திருச்சித்ர கூடந் தன்னுள்
திறல்விளங்கு மாருதியோ டமர்ந்தான் றன்னை
எல்லையில்சீர்த் தயரதன்றன் மகனாய்த் தோன்றிற்
றதுமுதலாத் தன்னுலகம் புக்க தீறா
கொல்லியலும் படைத்தானைக் கொற்ற வொள்வாள்
கோழியர்கோன் குடைக்குலசே கரஞ்சொற் செய்த
நல்லியலின் தமிழ்மாலை பத்தும் வல்லார்
நலந்திகழ்நா ரணனடிக்கீழ் நண்ணு வாரே. 11

 

THillai nagar thuchithira  koodam thannul

Thiral vilangu   maruthiyodu an marnthan thannai

Yellayil  cheer dayaradhan than maganai   thondrithu

Adhu mudhalaa  thannulakam   pukka theeraa

Kolliyalum  padaithanai  kothra volvaal

Kozhiyar kon   kudai kula   sekaran  chor cheitha

Nalliyalin  thamizh mali pathum   vallar

Nalam thigazh naranan adi keezh nannuvaare

 

In side  thiruchithirakoodam of  Thillainagar

Is Rama   who sat along with the valorous   Hanuman

From the time  he was   born as son  to Dasaratha

 With immesurable   good qualities till  he ,

Went to his own world , which was told

By  Kula sekara Azhvar   with white umbrella

And with  victorious   and pretty sword,,

Which was written well and those  ten verses of tamil

Those who can tell them   would reach  the feet,

Of Lord Narayana  who is  in  home in heaven
