Om   for the great six lettered  manthra , the sage  is Guru Brahma, the meter is anushtup, the power is the soul, the god addressed  is Saravana Bhava, Om is the seed , hreem power, Sreem is  the nail, the chant is started for  pleasing Lord Saravana Bhava(Lord subrahamanya)

I meditate on one with six faces, twelve hands,tweeelllve eyes and treasure of mercy

And his lotus like heart   as well as his  lotus pond of his feet

Om Saravana bhava who is a form called  by six letters, who is teacher of meaning of om, who is the form of six gurus , who is one who is merciful and fulfills all desire of his devotees, Who is om saravana bhva   salutations, salutations , salutatoions to  lord who is mine,  who is my path, On your lotus like feet , brahma , indra and important devas   do service,

My pathi are you who is Vedas , sasthras, vedanthas and philosophy which are your part, Oh Skanda  Moorthi

 

For all people name of Shanmukha  is nectar

All people chant  Saravana  BHava

The approach is   the meditation  on the form of six letters

Om if we think of Saravan  Bhava  , we will get salvation

This prayer  of six leters, destroys all sort of sins

If you read it in the morning , the sky of your mind would be clean

In the after noon , we get mental peace  and mhumans will get satisfaction

IN the evening your mind will be filled with , the rise of the  moon like joy .

Himalaya  said

 

 

त्वं ब्रह्मा सऋष्टिकर्ता च त्वं विष्णुः परिपालकः ।

त्वं शिवः शिवदोऽनन्तः सर्वसंहारकारकः ॥१॥

 

Thwam brahma srishti  kartha   cha  Vishnu  paripalaka

Thwam shiva shiva dho  anantha sarva  samhara  karaka

 

You are lord Brahma   the creator and you are Vishnu   who looks after

You are shiva, peaceful endlessly   and destroyer  of all

 

त्वमीश्वरो गुणातीतो ज्योतीरूपः सनातनः

प्रकृतः प्रकृतीशश्च प्राकृतः प्रकृतेः परः ॥२॥

 

Thwaam easwaro gunaatheetho jyothi roopa sanathana

Prakrutha prakrtheesascha praakrutha prakruthe para

 

You are god, beyond properties, having a form of flame and is foever

You are  natural, god of nature. Primitive and nature  the divine

 

नानारूपविधाता त्वं भक्तानां ध्यानहेतवे ।

येषु रूपेपु यत्प्रीतिस्तत्तद्रूपं बिभर्षि च ॥३॥

 

Nana   roopa vidhathaa thwam bakthaanaam dhyana  hethave

Yeshu   roopeshu yath  preethee sthathadhroopam vibharshi cha

 

You take various forms and are the cause  of devotees to meditate,

And in that form   great rishi show you great love

 

सूर्यस्त्वं सृष्टिजनक आधारः सर्वतेजसाम ।

सोमस्त्वं सस्यपाता च सततं शीतरश्मिना ॥४॥

 

Suryasthvam srushti janaks aadhaara sarva   thejasaam

Somasthwam sasya pathaa cha sathatham  seethe rasminaa

 

You are sun god, the father  of creation, basis of all light

You are moon, who makes crop fall down   and  has cool rays

 

वायुस्त्वं वरुणस्त्वं च विद्वांश्च विदुषां गुरुः ।

मृत्युञ्जयो मृत्युमृत्युः कालकालो यमान्तकः ॥५॥

 

Vayusthwam, varunaswthwam  ch vidwaamscha  vidhushaam  guru

Mruthyunjayo, mruthyu mruthyu, kala kalo , yamanthaka

 

You are   wind  , you are  god of rain and the teacher of  scholars  and learned

You  are victorious over death, death of death, death of god of  death and  killer of yama

 

वेदस्त्वं वेदकर्ता च वेदवेदाङ्गपारगः ।

विदुषां जनकस्त्वं च विद्वांश्च विदुषां गुरुः ॥६॥

 

Vedasthwam Veda kartha ch  veda  vedanga  paraga

Vidhushaamjanakasthwam cha   vidwamscha vidhushaam guru

 

You are  Vedas, the one who composed Vedas and expert in Vedas   and branches of Vedas

You are the  father of scholars and  the teacher  to scholars and learned

 

मन्त्रस्त्वं हि जपस्त्वं हि तपस्त्वं तत्फलप्रदः ।

वाक त्वं रागाधिदेवी त्वं तत्कर्ता तद्गुरुः स्वयम ॥७॥

 

Manthrasthwam hi japasthwam hi thapasthwam thath  phala  pradha

Vaak thwam raghadhi devi ssthwam thath karthaa   thath guru swayam

 

You are manthras, you are  the chanting and you are the penance and the one who makes them give  results

You are the voic , you are goddess ruling over passion, their  creator  as well as teacher

 

अहो सरस्वतीबीज  कस्त्वां स्तोतुमिहेश्वरः ।

इत्येवमुक्त्वा शैलेन्द्रस्तस्थौ धृत्वा पदांबुजम ॥८॥

 

Aho  saraswathi bheejakasthwaam sthothu  maheswara

Ithyeva  mukthwaa sailendrasthou druthwaa  padambujaam

 

Hey you are the seed of god of knowledge and  how will you pray to him

Saying this the king of the mountains caught  his lotus like feet

 

 

तत्रोवास तमाबोध्य चावरुह्य वृषाच्छिवः ।

स्तोत्रमेतन्महापुण्यं त्रिसन्ध्यं यः पठेन्नरः ॥९॥

 

Thathrovaasa thamaabodhya chaavaruhyaa   vrushaaschiva

Stotramethath maha  punyam trisandhyam ya  paden nara

 

He who lives there , he who teaches that, heis shiva who climbs on bull

This very holy prayer chanted in morn , dawn, non and dusk would give you   very holy benefits

 

मुच्यते सर्वपापेभ्यो भयेभ्यश्च भवार्णवे ।

अपुत्रो लभते पुत्रं मासमेकं पठेद्यदि ॥१०॥

 

Muchyathe  sarva paapebho bhayesthu bhavarnavi

Aputhro  labhathe  puthram maasamekam padethyadhi

 

He will get free from all sins and all fears  would be burnt down

The son less one  will  get a son, if this is read  for one month

 

भार्याहीनो लभेद्भार्यां सुशीलां सुमनोहराम ।

चिरकालगतं वस्तु लभते सहसा ध्रुवम ॥११॥

 

Bhaaryaa heeno   labhedh bhaaryaa  susheelam sumanoharam

Chira  kaa gatham vasthu labhathe   sahasaa dhruvam

 

Those without wife will ger pretty and   well behaved wife

And the thing lost for lot of time, would be recovered fast

 

 राज्यभ्रष्टो लभेद्राज्यं शङ्करस्य प्रसादतः ।

कारागारे श्मशाने च शत्रुग्रस्तेऽतिसङ्कटे ॥१२॥

 

Rajya brushto labhedh rajyam sankarasya  prasadhatha

Karagaare   smasaane cha sathru  grasthe  athi sankate

 

He who was thrown out of kingdom will get his kingdom due to pleasure  of lord Shiva

This is true in prison, cremation ground and being imprisoned by enemies

 

गभीरेऽतिजलाकीर्णे भग्नपोते विषादने ।

रणमध्ये महाभीते हिंस्रजन्तुसमन्विते ॥१३॥

 

Gabheere  , athi jalaakeerne bhagnapothe vishadhane

Rana Madhye  Maha bheethe Himsra janthu samanvithe

 

Very majestic, with lots of water, with full of obstacles, with poisonous  animals

In the middle of war  , Greatly fearful and filled with  dangerous animals

 

 

यः पठेच्छ्रद्धया सम्यक स्तोत्रमेतज्जगद्गुरोः ।

सर्वतो मुच्यते स्तुत्वा शङ्करस्य प्रसादतः ॥१४॥

 

Ya  padechruddhayaa  samyak  stotra metha  jagath guro

Sarvatho muchyathe sthuthwaa sankarasya  prasadatha

If this powerful stotra addressed to   Jagadguru  is read or heard

All people  by praying it would attain the blessing of Sankara

സര്‍വ്വജ്ഞനും ത്രിഗുണങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അതീതനും ആയ ഈശ്വരന്‍ ഓം എന്ന ഏകാക്ഷരത്തില്‍ അധിവസിക്കുന്നു.

The omnipotent   who is beyond all qualities is living  in the one letter “Om”

 

'നമഃ ശിവായ' എന്ന പഞ്ചാക്ഷരത്തില്‍ പഞ്ചബ്രഹ്മ സ്വരൂപനായ ഭഗവാന്‍ വാച്യ വാചക ഭാവത്തില്‍ വര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

 

In the five letter  “Panchakshara”, God who is the  pancha brahmam , is present in active and expressive form

 

നമഃ ശിവായ ഭീമായ

ശങ്കരായ ശിവായ തേ

ഉഗ്രോളസി സര്‍വ്വഭൂതാനാം

നിയന്തായച്ഛിവോസിനഃ

 

The very great “Namashivaya”

Is yours oh Shiva  , Oh Sankara,

It binds all  elements

Controls    breath  and all your actions

 

" നമഃശിവായ " എന്ന പഞ്ചാക്ഷരത്തിന്റെ മാഹാത്മ്യം വാക്കുകള്‍കൊണ്ട് വിശദീകരിക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല. ആ മന്ത്രം ഉരുവിട്ട് ജപിച്ച് അതില്‍നിന്ന് കിട്ടുന്ന ആനന്ദം അനുഭവിച്ചു തന്നെ അറിയണം.

 

You cannot describe the greatness  of Namashivaya by mere words.You have to chant it and yourself feel that joy that  you get of it

 

ശ്രുതി(വേദം)യിലും ശൈവശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും ഷഡക്ഷരത്തോടു കൂടിയ, മോക്ഷം പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന 'ഓം നമഃ ശിവായ' എന്ന മന്ത്രത്തിന് വളരെ പ്രാധാന്യം നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. വേദസാരമാണ് ഈ മന്ത്രം. 

 

In Vedas   and the science of Shaiva, the “Om Namashivaya  , the six lettered word along with one more letter has been given lot of importance .It is the essence of Vedas

 

സര്‍വ്വവിദ്യകളുടെയും ബീജമായ ഷഡക്ഷരം ആദ്യമന്ത്രമാണ്. ആല്‍വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുപോലെ സൂക്ഷ്മമായതും മഹത്തായ അര്‍ത്ഥത്തോടുകൂടിയതും ആണ് 'നമഃ ശിവായ' എന്ന മന്ത്രം.

 

The six letter one  is the root of all knowledge  and is its first chant.It is as tiny as seed of the  banyan tree but with very great  meaning and importance

 

സര്‍വ്വജ്ഞനും ത്രിഗുണങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അതീതനും ആയ ഈശ്വരന്‍ ഓം എന്ന ഏകാക്ഷരത്തില്‍ അധിവസിക്കുന്നു. 'നമഃ ശിവായ' എന്ന പഞ്ചാക്ഷരത്തില്‍ പഞ്ചബ്രഹ്മ സ്വരൂപനായ ഭഗവാന്‍ വാച്യ വാചക ഭാവത്തില്‍ വര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

 

The God  who knows all and who is beyond the three  types of characters is living in the  one letter  “Om”And in the five letter word “Namashivaya”, the god who has of Pancha Brahma is there   in  the active form of a sentence

 

പ്രാപഞ്ചിക ദുഃഖങ്ങളില്‍നിന്ന് മഹാദേവന്‍ മോചനം നല്‍കുന്നു. ഏതു രീതിയിലാണോ ഔഷധം രോഗശമനം വരുത്തുന്നത് അതുപോലെ ഈ ലോക  ജീവിതത്തിലെ ദോഷങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഭഗവാന്‍ ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കുന്നു. സര്‍വ്വജ്ഞനും പരിപൂര്‍ണ്ണനും ആയ സദാശിവന്‍ സംസാര സമുദ്രത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് തന്റെ ഭക്തനെ കരകയറ്റുന്നു.

 

It makes Mahadeva free  from worldly sorrow  .It is just like medicine which cures sickness, that God removes all  the defects of the worldly life.Sadha shiva   who is complete and knows everything saves the devotee from the  ocean of samsara

 

ആദിമദ്ധ്യാന്തരഹിതനും പരിപൂര്‍ണനും ആയ ശിവന്റെ നാമത്തോടുകൂടി ഉണ്ടായതാണ് പഞ്ചാക്ഷര മന്ത്രവും ഷഡക്ഷര മന്ത്രവും. വളരെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടുകൂടി ഈ നാമം ജപിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ ഷഡക്ഷരവും പഞ്ചാക്ഷരവും ഉള്ള ഒരു ഭക്തന് മറ്റു മന്ത്രങ്ങളൊന്നും ആവശ്യമില്ല വളരെ പരിശുദ്ധമായ മന്ത്രമാണ് ഇത്.

 

It is with name of shiva   who does not  have beginning , middle and end and who is complete that the five and six letter manthra  took shape.  It is with very special care that these names have to be chantedTo a devotee who has five and six letter manthra in his heart  , there is no need to have any other manthra.They are  very pure manthras

 

ഒരു ഭക്തന്റെ ജീവിതം സാര്‍ത്ഥമാകുവാന്‍ ഷഡക്ഷര മന്ത്രം നമസ്‌കാര സമന്വിതം ഭഗവാന് സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചാല്‍ മതി. മൂര്‍ഖനോ പണ്ഡിതനോ നീചജാതിക്കാരനോ ആര്‍ക്കായാലും പഞ്ചാക്ഷരം ജപിച്ചാല്‍  പാപവിമുക്തനാകാം.

 

The six letter manthra makes the life of a devotee very meaningful.All that we need to do is to approach gdd with salutation

Whether he is a boor or scholar or low caste person all these people can chant five letter manthra and get rid  of their sins

 

മനോ വാക് കര്‍മ്മങ്ങളാല്‍ ദുഷിതന്മാരും നിന്ദകരും കൃതഘ്‌നരും കള്ളം പറയുന്നവരും വക്രബുദ്ധികളും പഞ്ചാക്ഷരീ മന്ത്രം ജപിച്ചാല്‍ ശിവഭക്തരായി തീരും. അപ്പോള്‍ പ്രാപഞ്ചിക ദുഃഖത്തില്‍നിന്ന് കരകയറാനും സാധിക്കും.

 

Those who have a spoilt mind, speech or body, who are bad  or who do not  know  thankfulness  or those who tell lies, who have evil  brain all these if they chant five letteed manthra , they will become  devotees of shiva and at that time they would be able to save themselves   from worldly sorrows

 

തപസ്സ്, യജ്ഞം, വ്രതം എന്നിവയേക്കാള്‍ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമാണ്. മമതാബന്ധം ഉള്ളവനും ലൗകിക ജീവിതത്തില്‍ വിരക്തി വന്നവനും പഞ്ചാക്ഷര ജപം കൊണ്ട് മുക്തി ലഭിക്കും.

 

It is greater than penance  , fire sacrifice and rituals, those who have feeling of self and those who have detached  feeling towards family life, would get salvation by chant of the five lettered manthra.

 

ഗുരുവിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തോടുകൂടിയും ഉപദേശംഇല്ലാതെയും പഞ്ചാക്ഷരം ജപിക്കാമെങ്കിലും ഗുരൂപദേശത്തോടുകൂടി ജപിക്കുന്നതാണ് അത്യുത്തമം.

 

Though the five lettered manthra can be chanted with or without   teaching of the guru, it is superior to chant it with guru’s teaching

 

പഞ്ചാക്ഷരപ്രഭാവത്താല്‍ വേദജ്ഞരും മഹര്‍ഷിമാരും ഈ ലോകത്ത് ശാശ്വത ധര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. വിരലുകള്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ജപസംഖ്യ കണക്കാക്കാം. നൂറ്റിയെട്ട് രുദ്രാക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള നാമജപം വളരെ ഉത്തമമാണ്. ദേവാലയങ്ങളിലിരുന്നോ സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലിരുന്നോ നാമം ജപിക്കുന്നത് വിശിഷ്ടമാണ്."

 

  Due to the  power of  the five letter chant the vedic pundits   and great sages , teach the concept of permanent   dharma

You can count using fingers  but it is great to use chain of 108 Rudraksha beads,It is specially good if we  chant sitting in temple or nearby places

 

പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് മുഖം തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന് ജപിക്കുന്നത് ധനം നല്‍കുന്നു. വടക്കോട്ട് തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന് ജപിച്ചാല്‍ ശാന്തി ലഭിക്കും. തെക്കോട്ട് തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത് ആഭിചാരികമാണ് (നിന്ദ്യം) തലമുടി കെട്ടാതെയും  കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടും നാമം ജപിക്കരുത്. ദേവീസമേതനായ ശിവഭഗവാനെ മനസ്സില്‍ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച് പഞ്ചാക്ഷരം ജപിക്കണം. പ്രവര്‍ത്തികളിലേര്‍പ്പെടുമ്പോഴും നില്‍ക്കുമ്പോഴും നടക്കുമ്പോഴും അശുദ്ധനായാലും ശുദ്ധനായാലും പഞ്ചാക്ഷര മന്ത്രം നല്ല ഫലം നല്‍കും. പഞ്ചാക്ഷരമന്ത്രത്തിന്റെ മാഹാത്മ്യം മഹാദേവന്‍ തന്നെ ദേവിയോട് പറഞ്ഞതാണ്.

 

Chanting facing west gives you wealth, chanting facing north gives you peace. Chanting facing south is black magic and should not be done,Without tying  hair or when crying , you should not chant names of god
 You should think  in the  mind of lord Shiva with goddess parvathy and chant

Even if you chant it during work, standing, walking or not clean or clean, the five lettered chant grants results

Lord shiva himself taught the greatness of five lettered chant to goddess  parvathi

This is a very great prayer composed by a saint called Budha Koushika. Several verses are simply quoted from other great stotrams. It is believed that recitation of this great prayer would get rid of all the problems created by the nine planets.

Asya Sri Rama Raksha stotra manthrasya
Budha Kousika rishi,
Sri Sita Ramachandra devatha,
Anushtup Chanda,
Sita Shakthi, Sri Hanman Keelakam,
Sri Ramachandra preethyarthe Rama raksha stotra mantra jape viniyoga.

For the “Rama protection prayer”,
The sage is Budha[1] Kousika, God is Ramachandra with Sita,
Meter is Anushtup, power is Sita, and Limit is Hanuman,
And I am starting the chant of this prayer to please Ramachandra.

Dhyanam
Dhyayed Ajanu bahum drutha sara danusham badha padmasanastham,
Peetham vaso avasanam nava kamala dala spardhi nethram, prasannam,
Vamangaruda Sita mukha kamala milalochanam neeradhabham,
Danalangara deeptham datha muru jada mandalam ramachandram.

I meditate on that Ramachandra, whose arms reach up to his thighs,
Who carries bow and arrows, who sits in a lotus pose,
Who is dressed in yellow cloths, who has eyes like the petals of newly opened lotus flower,
Who is always pleasant looking, who is the colour of the black cloud,
Whose sight is fixed on the lotus eyes of Sita, sitting on his left thigh,
And who shines in various decorations and who has a matted hair around his face.

Charitham Raghu nadasya satha koti pravistharam,
Yekaikamaksharam pumsam maha pathaka nasanam., 1

The story of Rama is written in four billions words,
But reading even one letter of that, destroys all great sins.

Dhyathwa neelolpala shyamam Ramam Rajeevalochanam,
Janaki Lakshmano petham jada makuta manditham,
Sasi thoona dhanur bahu panim nakthancharaanthakam,
Swa leelaya jagathrathum avirbhoottham ajam vibhum,
Rama raksham padeth pragna papagneem sarva kamadham., 2-4

Meditating on Rama who is black like the blue lotus flower,
Who has lotus like eyes, who is our Lord
Who is accompanied by Sita and Lakshmana,
Whose head is surrounded by the tufted hair,
Who carries sword, bows, arrows and quiver,
Who is born in the world to playfully kill rakshasas,
And save and protect this world, who does not have birth,
The intelligent one should chant,“Rama protection prayer”,
So that he realizes all his desires.

Siro may Raghava pathu, phalam dasarathathmaja,
Kousalyeyo drusou pathu, viswamithra priya sruthi., 5

Let Raghava protect my head,
Let my forehead be protected by son of Dasaratha,
Let my eyes be protected by son of Kousalya,
And let my ears be protected by, he who is dear to Viswamithra.

Granam pathu makhathrath, Mukham soumithri vathsala,
Jihwam Vidhyanidhi pathu, kandam Bharathavanditha,
Skandou divyayudha pathu, bhujowbhagnea karmukha.
Karou Sithapathi pathu, Hrudayam Jamadagnyajith.
Madhyam padu Khara dwamsi, Nabhim Jambhavadasrya,
Sugreevesa kateem pathu, sakthithini Hanumath prabhu.
Ooru Raghoothama pathuraksha kulavinasa kruth,
Januni Sethu kruth padu, Janghe dasamukhandaka,
Padou Vibheeshanasreedha, pathu Ramokhilam vapu., 6-9

Let my nose be protected by protector of sacrifices,
My face by him, he who is dear to Lakshmana,
My toungue be protected by the treasure of wisdom,
My neck be protected by him who is saluted by Bharatha.
Let my shoulders be protected by him who has celestial weapons,
Let my arms by him who broke the bow,
Let my hands be protected by the husband of Sita,
Let my heart be protected by him who won over Parasurama.
Let my middle be protected by him who killed Khara,
Let my stomach be protected by the Lord of Jhambhavan,
Let my hips be protected by Lord of Sugreeva,
Let my behinds be protected by Lord of Hanuman.
Let my thighs be protected by the best of the Raghu clan,
Who is the destroyer of the clan of Rakshasas,
Let my knees be protected by maker of the bridge,
Let my calves be protected by the killer of Ravana,
Let my feet be protected by him who give protection to Vibheeshana,
And let all my body be protected by Sri Rama.

Yetham Rama balopethaam rakshaam ya sukruthee padeth.
Sa chirayu sukhee puthree vijayee bhaveth., 10

The do gooder who reads the protective chant based on strength of Rama,
Would live long, be blessed with sons, be victorious and will have humility.

Patala bhoothala vyoma charina Chathmacharina,
Na drushtumapi shakthasthe rakshitham Ramanamabhi., 11

They who travel in the hades, earth and heaven and who travel secretly,
Would not be able to see the one who reads the protective chant of Rama.

Ramethi, Ramabhadrethi Ramachandrethi yaa smaran,
Naro na lipyathe Papair bukthim mukthincha vindathi., 12

On the man who remembers Rama, Rambhadra and Ramachandra,
Sins will never get attached and he would get good life and salvation.

Jagajaithrakamanthrena Ramanamnabhirakshitham,
Ya kande dharayethasya karastha sava sidhaya., 13

He who wears the chant of the name of Rama as
A protection round his neck, would get all the occult powers in his hand.

Vajra panjara namedham yo Rama kavacham smareth,
Aavyahathagna sarvathra labhathe jaya Mangalam., 14

The orders of him who reads this armour of Rama called the cage of diamond,
Would be obeyed by everywhere and he will get victory in all things.

Aadishtavan yada swapne Ramaraksham imama hara,
Thadha likhithavan pratha prabudho budhakousika., 15

This protective chant of Rama was told by Lord Shiva in the dream,
And was written down by Budha Koushika without leaving a letter next day morn.

Aarama kalpa vrukshanam, virama sakalapadam,
Abhiramassthrilokanam, Rama sriman na prabhu., 16

There is no Lord like Rama who is like a wish giving tree,
Who lives in all places and who is the prettiest in all worlds.

Tharunou roopa sampannou, sukumarou Maha balou,
Pundareeka visalakshou Cheerakrushna jinambarou,
Phala moolasinou danthou thapasou brahmachrinou,
Puthrou dasarathasyathou bratharou Ramalakshmanou,
Saranya sarva sathwanam sreshtou sarva danushmatham,
Raksha kula nihanthou traayetham no raghothamou., 17-19

Let us be protected by the brothers Rama and Lakshmana,
Who are young, full of beauty, who are very strong,
Who have broad eyes like lotus, who wear the hides of trees,
Who eat fruits and roots, who are self controlled, who are ascetic,
Who are celibate, who are sons of Dasaratha,
Who give protection to all beings, who are great,
Who are the best among those who wield the bow,
And who destroy whole clans of Rakshasas.

Aatha sajja danusha vishu sprusa,
Vakshaya suga nishanga sanginou,
Rakshanaya mama Ramalakshmanaavagratha,
Padhi sadaiva gachathaam., 20

Let those Rama and Lakshmana,
Who hold arrows ready to shoot,
Who have the inexhaustible quiver on their shoulders,
Walk in front of me protecting me.

Sanadha Kavachee Gadgi chapa bana dharo yuva,
Gachan manoradhosmakam Rama pathu sa Lakshmana., 21

Let Rama and Lakshmana, who are ready for war,
Wearing armour holding sword and having bows and arrows,
Travel in the chariot of my mind and protect me.

Ramo Dasaradhi sooroLakshmanucharo balee,
Kakustha purusha poorna Kousalyayo Raghothama,
Vedantha vedhyo yagnesa purana purushothama,
Janaki vallabha sreeman aprameya parakrama,
Ithyethani japan nithyam thad bhaktha sradhayanvitha,
Aswamedhadhikam punyam samprapnothi na samsaya., 22-24

That devotee who daily chants with devotion the names,
Rama, son of Dasaratha, heroic one, he who is accompanied by Lakshmana,
He who is from Kakustha clan, complete man, son of Kausalya, Best among Raghu clan,
He who can be known by Vedantha, Lord of Yagnas, He who is ancient,
The best among men, Consort of Sita, Gentleman without properties and valorous one
Without doubt would get more blessings than performing of the Aswamedha sacrifice

Ramam doorvadala shyamam padmaksham peetha vasasam,
Sthuvanthi namabhir divyai na they samsarino nara., 25

He who chants the divine names of Rama
Who is as black as the bud of Dhoorva grass,
Who has lotus like eyes, who wears yellow silk,
Would never again lead another domestic life.

Ramam Lakshmana poorvajam Raghuvaram Seethapathim Sundaram,
Kakustham karunarnavam Guna nidhim vipra priyam dharmikam,
Rajendram sathya sandham Dasaratha thanayamShyamalamSanthamoorthim,
Vande LOkabhiramam. Raghukula thilakamRaghavam Ravanarim., 26

Salutations to him who is attractive to all the world,
Who is the best among the Raghu clan, who killed Ravana,
Who is Rama, Who is elder brother of Lakshmana,
Who is a blessing to Raghu clan, Who is consort of Sita,
Who is pretty, Who belongs to clan of Kakusthas,
Who is the treasure of mercy, Who is wealthy of good characters,
Who likes Vedic scholars, who is just, Who is the best among kings,
Who is truthful, who is son of Dasaratha, Who is black and
Who is the personification of peace and patience.

Ramaya ramabhadraya ramachandraya Vedhase,
Raghu nadhaya nadhaya Seethaya pathae nama., 27

My salutations to the consort of Lady Sita,
Who is the basis of all Vedas as Rama,
Ramabhadra and Ramachandra and,
Who is lord of the world as the lord of Raghu clan.

Sri Rama Rama Raghu nandana Rama Rama,
Sri Rama Rama Bharathagraja Rama Rama,
Sri Rama Rama rana karkasa Rama Rama Rama,
Sri Ramachandra saranam bhava Rama Rama., 28

Oh Rama, become my protection Oh Rama,
Rama, Rama, son of Raghu, Rama, Rama,
Rama Rama elder brother of Bharatha, Rama Rama,
Rama, Rama expert in war, Rama, Rama.

Sri Ramachandra charanou manasa smarami,
Sri Ramachandra charanou vachasa grunami,
Sri Ramachandra charanou sirasa namami,
Sri Ramachandra charanou saranam prapadhye., 29

I meditate on the feet of Sri Ramachandra,
I tell with words about feet of Ramachandra,
I salute with my head the feet of Ramachandra,
And I seek for protection to the feet of Ramachandra.

Matha Ramo, math pitha Ramachandra,
Swami Ramo, math sakha Ramachandra,
Sarvaswam may Ramachandro dayalu,
Na anyam naiva jane na jane., 30

My mother is Rama, my father Ramachandra,
My lord is Rama and my friend is Ramachandra,
Everything for me is the merciful Ramachandra,
And I do not see any one else except him and him.

Dakshine Lakshmano, yasye vame cha Janakathmaja,
Puratho Maruthir yasya tham vande Raghunandanam., 31

I salute that son of Raghu, on whose right is Lakshmana,
On whose left is Sita and n whose front is Hanuman.

Lokabhiramam rana ranga dheeram rajheeva nethram Raghuvamsa nadham,
Karunya roopamkarunakaram tham Sri Ramachandram Saranam prapadhye., 32

I surrender to Lord Sri Rama, who is prettiest in this world,
Who is very brave in battle field, who has lotus like eyes,
Who is the chief of the Raghu clan, who is mercy personified,
And who is extremely merciful

Mano javam, maruda thulya vegam,
Jithendriyam buddhi matham varishtam,
Vatha atmajam vanara yudha mukhyam,
Sree rama dootham sirasa namami., 33

I bow my head and salute the emissary of Rama,
Who has won over his mind,
Who has similar speed as wind,
Who has mastery over his organs,
Who is the greatest among knowledgeable,
Who is the son of God of wind,
And who is the chief in the army of monkeys.

Koojantham Rama Ramethi maduram madsuraksharam,
Aaroohya kavitha shakhaam vande Valmiki kokilam., 34

Salutations to The nightingale Valmiki,
Who sits on the poem like branch,
And who goes on singing sweetly,
“Rama”, “Rama” and “Rama”.

Apadam apa hantharam datharam dana sarva sampadam,
Lokabhiramam Sriramam bhooyo bhooyo namamyaham., 35

I again and again salute that Rama who is ever beautiful,
Who destroys all dangers and gives all sorts of wealth.

Bharjanam bhava bheejanamarjanam sukhasampadam,
Tharjanam yama dhoothanam rama ramethi garjanam., 36

The roar of the name “Rama”, “Rama,
Burns away all miseries of the world,
Increases al sorts of pleasure and wealth,
And drives away the messengers of God of death.

Ramo rajamani sada vijayathe ramam ramesam bhaje,
Ramenabhihatha nisachara chamooRamaya thasmai nama,
Ramannasthi parayanam paratharam Ramasya dasosmyaham,
Rame chitha laya sada bhavthu may bho Rama mamudhara., 37

Always victory to Rama who is the king of gems,
I salute Rama who is the consort of Lakshmi,
The Rakshasas who move at night were killed by Rama,
And my salutations to that Rama,
There is no place of surrender greater than Rama,
And I am the slave of Rama,
My mind is always fully engrossed in Rama,
And Oh God Rama please save me.

Sri Rama Rama ramethi reme rame manorame,
Sahasra nama thathulyam rama nama varanan., 38

Hey beautiful one,
I play with Rama always,
By chanting Rama Rama and Rama,
Hey lady with a beautiful face,
Chanting of the name Rama,
Is same as the thousand names.

Ithi Budha Koushika virachitham Rama Raksha stotram sampoornam
