Bhakthi geetham( addressed to Maha  Periyava

1.Jayathedikam guro janmana mahi

Sakala sampadhaa shobathe athra  hi

Yathipathe ramaa Brahma jayayaa

Varadha  sankadha chithramathra  hi

Great  victory is ours , oh Guru  as we  took birth in this world,

All the  prosperity is   shining  here

Oh lord of saints , oh  Godess Rema  as well as Saraswathi

All of you  as  our protectors , it  is  greatly  wonderful

2.Klesa  dandakou hasthayor  drutham

Kalabhanabhinam   veekshya sankaram

Jana  kadambakam thwa anugachathi

Harasi no manaschaadrayaa   drusaa

The very difficult dandaka   is well  within your hands

The  very huge   focus of matters   is being   seen by  Sankara

The crowd  of people   go  along with you

And you would  see the beverage  only  by the moon of your mind

3.Madhana  sundaram  veekshya  they  mukham

Thwa  drusyathaam   gatho  lajjaya smara

Ayutha  manmathaa navai  they samaa

Jana gano mahan drushtumagatha

Your face  to look it is as pretty   as Madana,

When I see  you, I see you   with shyness

Boundless number of Manmathas  are  equal to you

And groups  of people are seeing  your  coming as great one

4.Madhura  Bashayaa Manju Bhashana

Budha  graheethaya sasthram  apyaho

Parama  mangalam bodhayaswa na

Nikata maagatha thejataa  vayam

Sweet language   expressed   very prettily

The wise men  catch from it  sasthra  and make  it their own

For ,  were  they not being taught  divine  auspiciousness

And when he comes nesr, we ourselves  get  that  shine .

5.Thava  kadhaa  sudhaa karna samputai

Hrudaya  pankajam  prapnuyathdhyavi

Durithamapyaho , nasyathe  dhruvam

Sakala  hrudrajaam   beshajam nanu

Your story is nectar  to the  collection of ears

And reaches  our  lotus like heart  and remains there

Reaches  speedily but   never destroyed

And is  always  medicine  to all hearts

6.Srunu vihaaya bho vahanaan anyaho

Charathi yath  bhavaan, karkase thadhe

Thruna shilaadhibhi sthudhyathe  thava

Charana pankajam  khidhyathe mana

WE have heard that  vehicle  is an exception to him

And that the  great one used to move about in rugged  paths

And he even used  to praise  the grass  and stones

His lotus like feet used to get exhausted but not his mind

7.Raktha vaasasaa  , sphatika  maalayaa

Danda  paaninaa  , bhasitha   shobhayaa

Madana  shobhayaa rajase  yadhaa

Giri sutha sutham manyathe  janaa

Wearing  ochre garments, cruystal  chain

Holding a stick, conversing in a shining way

With  luster of Manmatha and having royal looks

People  used to tell he  is   son of Parvathi  , subrahamanya

8.Thulasi maalayaa, hema  bhooshanaa

Kanaka  vaasaaa achaadhithaa  yadhi

Hareer ithi swayam  rajase  bhavaan

Pranatha   dehinaam kamadha  prabho

Thulasi  garland   as the  the golden ornament

Covering   himself   with a  red cloth looking lke  gold

He would  look    charming  like  a king

And the  people who salute him  and would love that lord

9.Sphatika  maalayaa, bhaathi shobhayaa

Parasa  vathkalai, raksha  maalayaa

Aksha samyutham makutamaasritham

Sasikalaadharam  manyathe  jana

The crystal  garland  looking like  shining

Wearing discarded  hide  and a  protective  garland

And if   the  moon’s crescent  also  depends on his  crown

People   would consider  him  as Lord Shiva  wearing moon

10.  Paaninam , swarna  varninam

Hastha  shobhitha , sphatika  malinam

Japa paarayanam , dhyana namsthitham

Parama mangalam manmahe  vidhim

Holding a  water pot  , being of the colour of Gold

The crystal chain  which makes  his hand shina

Busy in chanting , reading , meditating and saluting

Divine auspiciousness and prayer  as his fate
