Karuvarayil muthan muthalil avanai Arinthen
Annaivazhi avan pugazhai naalum unarnthen
Thamizh kadavul murukan yendru kettu valanthen
Avan arulai pera vendi dhinamum muyandren
I knew about him first in the womb
Over time , through mother I knew about his fame
I grew up hearing that he is a Tamil God
I tried daily for getting his blessings
Azhakan Avan uruvinile manamum mayangum
Aaru padai veedu chendraal unmai vilangum
Arpudhamaai alankaram azhaku jolikkum
Muthamizhaal potrukayil ullam inikkum
The pretty one , in his form mind would become ecstasic
If we go to his AArupadai temples, we wll know the truth
Wonderfully decorated , his beauty will shine
When we praise him with three type of tamil, mind will become sweet
Pagai azhhinthu theemaikalai akala vaithavan
Asurarkalai kalai yedukka vel yeduthavan
Idar agathi kaathu nirkkum mayil vaahanan
Chikkal indri vaazha vaikkum Singaara velan
Destroying the enemies, he drove away the bad things
He took his Vel to kill the asuras
He , the one who rides on peacock , drives away problem and stands protecting us
He is the very pretty Vela who makes us live without problems
Baktharkalin Paasathile manam kalippavan
Valam anaithum thanthu vaazhvil uyara vaippan
Abhayam yendru kural koduthaal odi varubhavan
Yaamirukka Bhayamen? Yendru kaathu nirpavan
He whose mind will become happy , in the affection of devotees
Giving us all the prosperity, he is the one who makes us tall in life
If we shout , “Please protect”, he is the one who comes running
Why fear , when I am there? Saying this he is the one who stands protecting us
Karthikaikkum sashtikum Virutham yerppavan
Yaathiraikkum kavadikkum kaval nirppavan
Visakham, Thai poosam, Uthiram yena
Vidha vidhamai vizhaa kanum azhaku velvan
To him who stands as protection to him who observes
Penance on Karthika and sashti, he would protect his journey and Kavadi
Vishakam , Thai Poosam , Uthitam ,like this
For various types of festivals, he is the one who celebrates
Ner vazhiyil sendraal Avanai nerunga mudiyum
Anbin vazhi avanai dhinam anuka mudiyum
Nallennam kondaal avanai ariya mudiyum
Kaalam yellaam avan thunayai unara muduiym
If we take the straight path , we can go near him
In the path of daily , daily we can approach him
If we assume good thinking, We can know about him
During all the times we will feel his company(assistance)
Avan ninaivil vaazhuvathil aanandam kolvom
Avan paadal paaduvathil paravasam kolvom
Arul vendi dinamum avan kaaladi thozhuvom
Vallal avan tharum varathaal vaazhvil uyarvom
WE will become happy in living in his thought
WE will become ecstasic in singing his songs
Seeking his blessings we will daily salute his feet
Due to the boon given by him who is a philanthropist we wil rise up
