Translation of prayers   addressed  to  Lord Guruvayrappan till September 2020

 

I am from kerala  .Whenever  A Kerala  Hindu (poor or rich)  are in  trouble  they will  call  “Yende  Giruvayurappa” 

    This was the God   which was worshipped  by Lord Krishna  in Dwaraka and when he realized     that time for him to back has come. He Gave that6 God to Lord Guru(Vyazhan)    and Lord Vayu  (the wind).  Both of them carried it and consecrated  it in the present place  .The place  from then on was called  “Guruvayur”(the city of Guru and Vayu)   and the God    was called Guruvayurappan.He was   a small black boy wearing Loin cloth.

   He crured  Meppathur  Narayana  Bhattathiri of his disease and  the great scholar  wrote Narayaneeyam.At the same time   another Nambuthiri who lost his darling  son on his first birthday was called Poonthanam   and he wrote several prayers in Malayalam  .He wrote to great books  (Jnapana  and Bhasha Karnamrutham).When Poonthanam became too old to come to Guruvayur, The lord himself   shifted to his place and since   the temple   was left of his home he called that God  Vamapureeswara

  Several great  persons got cured  of their diseases  here and among them were  , The greatest  Malayalam   poet Vallathol, The great Scholar Sengalipuram Anantharama Deekshithar and the great magician of music .

  In 1955   when I went to the temple  it was a small temple like any other  Kerala temple.Me and my uncle took bath in the temple pond and  walked inside without any crowd and saw  The Kochu Guruvaurappan for several minutes.During that free  food used  to be given  to all Brahmins who visited  the temple, in side  the temple .I remember  me and my uncle taking food  in the temple   and coming back.

To me my KOchu Guruvayurapan   is everything. I am giving below   translation of three  books  and 89   stotras written in Sanskrit, Malayalam and Tamil  /
