Govinda Keerthanam
Song of Govinda
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander
Govinda Hari Govinda Hari
Govinda Hari Govinda
Govinda Hari Govinda hari
Mukunda Madhava Govinda
Oh Govinda Oh Hari Oh Govinda Oh Hari
Oh Govinda oh Hari Oh Govinda
Oh Govinda oh Hari oh Govinda oh hari
Oh Mukunda Oh Madhava oh Govinda
Kanaka kireetam , karunyamrutha
Lochana Yugalam , kunthala bharavum
Makara kathila nasa putavum
Mandasmitha ruche kanakenam
Golden crown , the two eyes filled
With nectar of mercy, the weight of hair on head,
The ear studs resembling fish, the nasal ornaments
Along with a slow smile , I want to see
Gala thala vilasina thulasi dalavum
Jala dhara niramaam thirumei vadivum
Trikkara tharil vilangunna sankha
Gadhari Sarojam Kkanakenam
The thulasi leaf where the hear and neck shines
The form of divine body of colour of water filled cloud
And the conch , mace , chakra as well as lotus flower
Which shines in his divine hand , I want to see
Sri Vathsangitha vakshasi kausthubha
Vana mala dhara peethambaravum
Vaadeedathoru rathnam thadavina
Kanchana kanchikal kanakenam
The Kaushubha and forest garland worn over
The chest with sri vathsa, the yellow silk,
The golden girdle ornamented with,
The never fading gems, I would like to see.
Ramba thulyam thudayinayum thava
Janga yugalam mani noopramum
Jambaraathi mukhamara vandhitha
Pada yugalam, mama kaanakenam
The two thighs equal to Ramba and your two shanks,
And your jem studded anklets
Your proud face and two feet ,
Which are saluted by devas, I want to see
