மாணிக்க வீணை ஏந்தும் மாதேவி கலைவாணி

தேன் தமிழ் சொல்லெடுத்து பாட வந்தோம்

அம்மா பாட வந்தோம்

அருள்வாய் நீ இசை தர வா நீ

இங்கு வருவாய் நீ லயம் தரும் வேணி அம்மா

Thean thamizh  cholleduthu  paada  vanthom

Amma  paada  vanthom

Arulvai   nee  , isai thara vaa  nee

Ingu  varuvai , nee  Layam tharum  veni

 

Oh Great  Goddess  Saraswathi  who  carries a  ruby veena

We have come hear  to sing  in honey sweet  Thamizh

Oh mother   we came to sing

Please bless us, Come  to give us music

Please come here, oh Veni who grants us pleasant  merging with music

பூமணக்க பூஜை செய்தால் பூவை நீ மகிழ்வாய்

மாணிக்க வீணை ஏந்தும் மாதேவி கலைவாணி

தேன் தமிழ் சொல்லெடுத்து பாட வந்தோம்

Poo manakka  poojai cheithaal  Poovai  nee magizhvai

If we stand singing with scented toungue, You would make  wisdom grow,

If we worship  you with scented  flowers , being a lady  you would   become happy

To your devotees who  salute  you with out  pretence

You are  the mother  who gives in heaps

 

வாணி சரஸ்வதி மாதவி பாரதி வாகதீஸ்வரி மாலினி

காணும் பொருளில் தோன்றும் கலைமணி

வேண்டும் வரம் தரும் வேணி

நான்முகன் நாயகி மோகனரூபிணி

நான்மறை போற்றும் தேவி நீ

வானவர்க்கமுதே தேனருள் சிந்தும்

கான மனோகரி கல்யாணி

Nan mukan  Nayaki, Mohana  roopini

Naan marai potrum   Devi nee

Vanavarkku amudhe , Thenarul chinthum,

Ghana  manohari, Kalyani

 

Oh Goddess of voice  , Sarswathi , She who is like honey , She who is goddess  of dance , She who  is  goddess  of words, She who makes things pure

Oh gem of art who appears  in everything we see

Oh Veni who gives   boons  that we want

The wife  of Lord Brahma. She who has a pretty form

You are  goddess  praised  by four Vedas

You are nectar to devas, You are  pretty musician

Who drops honey of blessing, She who does  good
