Story of Ramayana - song in Malayalam

Story of Ramayana - song in Malayalam

I have never met nor would ever likely to meet a devotee like Sri P.V.V..Raghavan ( called fondly as Veeramani by all his friends and the entire Gramam of Puthucode) .His devotion was drenched in pure unalloyed BHakthi . There was never a trace of Ego in that great human being . I considered him as my elder brother rather than a co-brother.). All his bhakthi to his Goddess Annapurneswari and to his personal God Guruvayurappan was channelized through devotion drenched songs in Malayalam. Whenever he visited any temple, with tears flowing from his eyes , he used to sing about that God. Once I happened to hear him sing a Malayalam song which summarized Ramayana . I requested to him to write it in Malayalam and give it to me . On reaching Bangalore I did translate it and put it in my blog. About 6 months back he passed away at the ripe old age of 95 leaving all of us who were his admirers.. We felt as if a leading light of devotion has disappeared from our lives. Rama Navami of this year is only a few days away . I am sure that they great human being must be entertaining His Goddess Annapurneswari and his Lord Guruvayurappan by his devotion filled songs . This Ramayana in malayalam that he used to sing has been recorded by one of his sons and can be heard by clicking

You can also read this Ramayanam in his own hand writing from the attached photograph .

Sri mukthi sthala devi kesadhi padha varnanam

Sri mukthi sthala  devi  kesadhi padha  varnanam

(the description from head  to feet of Bhagawathi of Mukthi Sthala)

By

Meppathur Narayana  Bhatathiri

Translated  by

P.R.pRamachander

(Sri Bhatathiri is known to have got completely cured of the disease that he got from his Guru Sri Achyutha Pisharody by singing Narayaneeyam. But it seems still he was mentally depressed. Then God appeared in his dream and commanded him to write a work praising the feet of Goddess Bhavani  who is enshrined in the temple of Mukthipuri (called Mukkolakka in Malayalam). He did this and became normal. It is written that he spent his old age in Mukthipur. Complete   detail of this great  temple is given  in http://rajathathaskeralatemples.blogspot.com/2010/02/mukkuthala-bhagawathy.html  by me  .

But inpite of composing the great work , he was not satisfied and wrote this head to feet description of that goddess .

I was not aware  of  this great work  and came to know of it from Tamil post with meaning in face book by  by my friend Smt  .anandi Lakshmi.  Thanks to her)
