அன்னமதில் அமர்ந்திருந்து அருள்புரிபவளே
அருங்கலைகள் அனைத்திற்கும் அன்னை நீயே
அன்னமதாய் வடிவெடுத்தோன் அருள் நாயகியே
அன்னையே அம்பிகையே சரஸ்வதி தேவி                               (அன்ன)

 

Annamathil amarnthirunthu arul puripavale

Arum kalaikal   anaithirkkum   annai   neeye

Annamathai   vaditheduthon   arul  nayakiye

Annaye ambikaue   Saraswathi    devi

 

She who sits  on a swan   and blesses   us

For all great  arts, you are   the mother

Oh blessed  wife of him who took the  form of a swan,

Oh mother, Oh Ambika, Oh Goddess  Saraswathi

பாரதியைப் பாமாலை புனைந்திடச்செய்தாய்
பாரதியே உன் பாதம் சரணடைந்தேனே
பக்தியுடன் பரவசமாய்ப் பாடிடுவோரைப்
பல்லாண்டு வாழ்ந்திடவே செய்திடுவாயே                               (அன்ன)

 

Bharathiyai  paamaalai  punainthida   cheithaai

Bharathiye  un padham saran adainthene

Bhakthiyudan    parvasamai  paadiduvorai  ,

Pallandu   vaazhnthidave   chithiduvaye

 

You made poet Bharathiyar to compose garland of poems

Oh Bharathi, I am surrendering at  your feet

Those  who sing about you in ecstasy of devotion,

Please make them live  in great manner  several years

வெள்ளைத் தாமரையில் கொலு வீற்றிருப்பாய்
வெள்ளை உள்ளம் கொள்ளவே செய்திடும் தாயே
கூத்தனூர் உறைகின்ற வீணா வாணியே
கூடிக்கூடி உன் பாதம் பணிந்திடச்செய்வாய்                               (அன்ன)

 

Vellai thamarayil kolu veethiruppai

Vellai  ullam kollave cheithidum THaaye

Koothannor uraikindra Veenaa Vaniye

Koodi koodi   un padham  paninthida  cheivai

 

You will sit majestically  on a white lotus flower

Oh Mother who make us all have a  pure mind,

Oh Vani  with Veena  who  i9n Koothanoor,

\Assembling in a great crowd make us bow   to your feet

வீணையில் கானத்தை எழுப்பியே எந்தன்
வீணான சஞ்சலத்தைப போக்கிடும் தாயே
வித்தைகளைக் கற்றிடவே விழைந்திடுவோரை
விதம் விதமாய் அத்தனையும் கற்றிடச்செய்வாய்                   (அன்ன)

 

Veenayil  gaanathai   yezhuppiye  yenthan

Veenaana  chanchalathai  pokkidum   thaaye

Vithaikal    kathridave   vizhainthiduvorai

Vidham vidhamai athanayum   kathrida   cheivai

 

By raising music  on your veena, oh mother,

Please remove my needless     worries,

For those   who want to acquire knowledge

You please  make them learn them in vaiety of ways

கண்ணிமைக்கும் நேரத்திலும் காட்சி தரும் தாயே
பண்ணிசைக்கும் திறம் தனையே எனக்களித்திடுவாய்
உண்மையாய் உன்னையே நம்பிடுவோரின்
எண்ணங்களை உளமார நிறைவேற்றிடுவாய்                           (அன்ன)

 

Kanimaikkum  nerathilum  kakshi tharum  thaaye

Pannisaikkum  thiram thanaye yenakkalithuduvai

Unmayaga   unnaye  nambiduvorin

Yennangalai ulamaara  niraivethruduvai

 

Oh mother  who appears in time  that I close and open my eyes

Please grant me ability   to sing   the  prayer songs

For  those who believe truly in you

Please fulfill   all  their thoughts   willingly
