1.Aadi  paaduvom, ayyan pugazh paaduvom

Aanandamai ayyan pugazh  aadi paaduvom

Swamiye  Ayyappa , sarnam pon Ayyappa

Swamiye Ayyappa , sarnam pon Ayyappa

 

We will ance and sing , We would sing the fame of the God

With great joy  we will sing and dance   the   fame of God

Oh God Ayyppa  , We surrender  to you  golden Ayyappa

Oh God Ayyappa , we surrender  to you  golden Ayyappa

 

2.Pambai karayil  piranthittan ayyan

Pandala  Rajanum  kandu   yeduthan

Mani kandan yendre  peyarum ittan

Manamum magizhnthe valarthittan

 

Our lord was born in shores of Pambai

He was   found out by  king of Pandala

He named  him as  Mani kanda

With  mind ful of joy , he  nurtured him

 

3.Thaayin  thalai vali therthidave-ayyan

Puli paal konnarnthar  marunthaka

Mahishi yendru  oru arakkiyaye

Azhithida  yeduthan  avatharam

 

For curing the  head ache  of his mother , the lord

Brough  milk of tiger  as medicine

For  destroying a Rakshasi  called Mahishi,

He  took this  incarnation

 

4.Vavar  yendra  kollayanai,

Vetri  kondaar  Ayyappan

Manam thirunthiya  vaavarum

Ayyanin nanbanayi aanaane

 

The lord Ayyappa   got victory

Over Vavar  who was a thief

The Vavar  whose  mind  was changed

Became the friend of the lord

 

5.Manmatha  roopam kondavane

Makara  jothiyai olirbavane

Manamum  kulirnthida  azhaithavudan

Mani  kandaa  neeyum vanthiduvai

 

Oh lord   with the form  of Manmatha

Who shined  in form of flame  of Makara

When we  call you with a happy  heart,

Oh Mani Kanda  you would come

 

6.Saranam  yendru  vanthavarin

SAngadam yellam theeerthavare

Sabari malai  thanil vaazhpavane

Saranam, sarnam  , un padham

 

He who cured  all the sorrows , of those,

Who came to him saying “I surrender”

He who lives  on sabari  mountain

I surrender , I surrender to your feet
