1.Introduction

I am a  typewriter,
That which strikes and strikes,
And make tail  words appear,
Is that  eight lettered  manthra (Om Namo  Narayana)

He  is the one who does and I his  machine
He is using  me  as his   handy man

These  letters  show  the rare face,
Why is there a need for  introduction?

First  Thamboola

Oh god you are  root of everything,
The primeval root,
And so  the  first Thamboolam is to you.

For all words  , your words are  the root,
This is the evidence  given by the Vedas
All things  happen because  of you,
Without  your grace, it is complete  eradication

After  worshipping men incarnations,
Getting bored, I have come,
To worship “A man who is  incarnation”

The son who sang ,  made  up faces,
For living and for comparison,
As a an atonement, I am trying to sing,
About an incomparable face ,
In mistake  less tamil

Being one  who wrote  love stories  and got wounded,
Today  I am writing the story of Rama,
To heal all  my wounds

I am coming  to greet  the lord,
Who  explained  the grammar of life,
BY  prose poetry  , which does not ,
Follow  rules  of Grammar

Oh God, come   and  help me,

After getting your grace ,
Let this  firewood ,
Become a veena

Me
I am a  snail  , which boasts,
Moving of  four inches  as  a great move

I am the goldsmith who goes round,
A  coconut garden  and makes,
Loud announcement that,
That  I went round  Dandakarnya

I am the angler  who decides,
The depth I went in water,
As the depth  of the ocean

I am the kite which explains,
The area  I went round,
As the length  of the sky

I am the fool who felt,
The tail of Valmiki and the feet of Kamban,
And boasts  that  I have  become an expert
In Spiritual  literature.

A letter  to Kamban who wrote Ramayaa

Oh Kamba, one who is  great in knowledge
Salutations to the Parijatha  flower from a  paper flower
Oh Sir , are  you Okay  there,

Is Chadayappa  the philanthropist okay?
Is the shirtless  SA.Ganesan Okay?
Is Jeevaa  who explained  your greatness in great  Tamil Okay?
Is P sree who by talking and talking, popularized  your greatness Okay?
Is Puduvai Arunagiri who without singing Kandha sang about Kamba  Okay
Is TKC who weighed your songs and proved  there are no interpolations  okay?

To all of them , my pranams with love

Oh emperor  of Poets  , what you sang  in traditional  time,
I am singing  in the modern time

Without knowing  swimming , I have entered the water,
I will shout  , please save me

Oh king of poems who entered  in to long sleep,
In Nattararasan kottai, Please wake up and come

You enter inside me and write,,
I am saluting you and begging

Sowing  is my work,
To make it yield is your brain

2.Ilakkiya    Nayakan Raman (Rama lord of literature)- an introduction

He is  the sun of wisdom  born,
In the clan of the sun in the sky,
He is the  god who has  come to earth,
Wearing  the human dress

He is kept  hidden by the Vedas
For  his greatness  is not even visible,
To the Vedas

He is  the truth  which brought the truth,
He is the dharma  beyond lies,
He is Veda which has developed feet,
He is the humanity dressed in divinity

He who has  no birth, took birth,
After  being born  , he cut of,
The  future  birth of others

3.Nadhiyum Naadum
The river   and the country=an introduction

Her  name is Sarayu,
She  is a river maiden,
Among all  river maidens,
She has maximum  marks

That wet dress weaved  ,
By  the Himalayas was worn,
By  the good  lady called  KOsala,
As her  sari  whicch   was tied to  her hips

How many  pretty foam flowers,
On that dress and to  hug
All those  foam flowers,
How many   shore  flowers

Sitting with folded legs on those  ,
Shore flowers, the  breeze  ,
Is singing Malaya  Marutha

To the children born  to ,
KOsala , the lady  of Virtue,
There  are no sorrows

In the book of their experience ,
There  are no pages  called Sorrow,
There  is no money  just for one person,
And so  there are  no two groups

Since there was no giving and getting,
There is no arguments there

There  was shame there,
For  poverty  and  inferiority,
Which did  not have any  work

In the  land of Goddess Kosala,
Wearing  the cloth  of water,
There  were no eyes wearing,
The dress  of  tears

In the land   of Kosala,
Dressed  in  water,
There  was no lady  ,
Dressed  in White

In the long   account book,
Of the Kosala lady, there ,
Are no numbers to count  al the good

4. Dasarathan

Ayodhya  was the kumkum thilak  on ,
The forehead  of the lady called Kosala,
And the guard  of its auspiciousness,
Was  the king  Dasaradha

The sound of pretty  peacocks,
The  talks of the poets of the palace,
Were  always heard , in the palace of ladies,
And his  royal meeting  place

Though before   the emperor,
Three hundred pearl  lamps were there,
Only  three  lamps   were there

They were honoured as family lamps
They were  not ghee  lamps, they were,
True lamps  hugged by the king with  his own hands
They   were  not oil lamps, they were  butter lamps,
Which will met at the touch of the emperor

5.Kausalya, Kaikeyi   and Sumithra

Dasaratha was the lord  of these  forever lamps

He was one who thought that country   was his soul,
And he was the  nest which carried that good soul
And he  noted this in his heart

All the toungues of the country’s  people,
Became the chairs on which his name   sat

To this  king, who could not be won by anybody,
There was a sorrow, which could not be told  to anyody

6.The teacher  of the clan

Vasishta, is the ocean of knowledge, with shores,
Which were not visible –but for sight  he looked like a canal,
If we  raise a question through Yaga, the sky will answer
Liking the way he chanted  the Vedas  always sat  on his lips

He was guru  of Dasaratha, the  personification of Dharma
He lived as  an answer to  all his questions,
He was shop where  explanations were bought

The king cut even his nails  only  after,
He told the  suitable date

Searching for an answer one day  , the question came
It saluted   and then stood

It was   surprise for Vasishta,  that the would the ocean,
Where ponds got dissolved, became upset

The ocean like dasaratha  looked like  a dwarf,
He who is tall appeared dwarf   due to   hisworries

The king said

Oh  sir, my hands are paining having driven,
The chariot of ruling for sixty thousand years,
The body  is getting bored

I am standing  without hands , as  I do not have,
A hand to whom my hands can hand over  the whip

There  is no one  who is  my reminder,
This fear  looks like a  mole on me

Am I the full stop  for  the sentence  of clan,
Written by my ancestors

When king  Dasaradha raised  this question,
The sage  searched in side his mind  for answer

7.Lord Vishnu

In the heaven a  prayer  meeting was taking place,
They were waiting  for the  person who is protecting them

They  did  not shut their eye lids  , they did not sweat,
They were Devas  , who had eaten the  nectar

They are now scared  as if they have  taken poison,
They are   at the peak of their scare

Due to sufferings created by  Ravana  and other Rakshasas,
The devas had thinned like streaks  of lightning

The mouth  of Varuna got dried, The wind god sweated ,
The  moon did not have  raising crescents,
Sun god  waning crescent , Iravatha elephant  started thinning
And  Indra was greatly tired

The cry of their request for protection, broke ,
The walls of Vaikunta  and entered inside

Lord Vishnu came  and  showed himself
He got  down from  neck of Garuda.
He who got down , seeing the state  of devas melted

The Lord Vishnu opened his divine  mouth

“Oh Devas , when Ravana begged for  boon  of ,
Deathlessness, he showed  Brahma his list of enemies

In  his thinking that men and monkeys  were silly insects,
The king of Lanka  did not include

That which he did not include is going  write his fate,
Since there  is no correction  for this mistake,
It is difficult  for him to  live

I will take birth as human being,
And will be born as  son of Dasaradha,
In the clan of Manus

When I am coming as the lord, Adhisesha  ,
Will come as my younger  brother and the conch and wheel,
Which are with me will be born as  other brothers

You who are  the devas, will come   as monkeys

Lord Vishnu  returned  back to ocean of milk

8.Sage  Rishya  Sringa

The guru  of the clan said

Oh Dasaratha , conduct  the puthra kameshti yaga
Then new  growth  will grow in your plants

Call sage Rishya  Sringa  to head  that Yaga
Wherever  he stepped  rains  used to fall

He is ,
The son of son of son of Lord Brahma,
He has never seen passion

He is a wise man who knew   earth is a lie
To the truth, his  body is the body

Anga  desa  is a good country,
Due to no water for long time  ,
The wealth  of the country was getting  spoiled

To the people,
There was no water  to plough,
There was  no tears  to cry

The king  Romapadha  who ruled  them,
Asked   aged  great people

They said , if a  sage  who  gives wisdom,
Comes then the sky   will give

Due to compulsion , when the king asked,
Ladies went  in the form of sages

Sage Rishya sringa did not know,
Anything about mountain and forests

He thought the ladies  who came as  sages,
AS sages with horn  in their chest
As time passed, passed,
The ladies , by slowly  moving with him,
And  made wet the heart of the sage  with passion,
And brought him  to anga country,
That sage of truth   who can remove sorrow

AS soon as the feet of Rishya Sringa touched,
As soon as his flower   like feet touched the borders

The sky thundered, the clouds  became black,
Rain fell and the lakes  spilled  the excess water

After finishing   the story of Rishya  Sringa,
The  guru of the clan Vasishta,
Gave a hint

Oh king Dasaradha  , go to Anga country,
Bring him

And speedily  perform the Yaga

9.The Yaga  performed by the king

With  the booming of sacred chants,
With auspiciousness   shine,
The  king of kings   started  the Yaga

That Rishy sringa who put out,
Fire  of passion  with penance
After raising  the fire  of the yaga
And  grew it huge

Like truth eating the lie,
The  fire   ate  the ghee

From the Yaga grown by the Vedas,
One celestial being came out

There was a vessel in  Hand of that being,
And in the vessel was  divine Payasa(kheer)

The sage told

Oh king , take the Payasa in the vessel and,
Distribute it to your three  wives

The king Gave half of it to Kausalya,
Half of the remaining  to Sumithra,
And half of reminder  to Kaikeyi

And gave what was remaining to sumithra

This is
Not the  mathematics of the king,
But mathematics  of the God

10.The  God was born

The  yaga succeeded, the question got an  answer

The three  queens  gave birth to  four.

The great god , Parabrahmam ,
Was born as   a baby  to Kausalya,
And got a  name   as Rama

The Kaikeyi   who was like the hand,
Of the king who carried  the staff ,
Gave birth  , to the angry moon ,
Who will  burn  the darkness of sin by his look,
And he  was given the name  Bharatha.

Sumithra who gave  birth to Lakshmana,
The literature without grammatical errors,
Also  gave birth   to Sathrugna  ,the  book
Who had valor like   red hot fire

Dasaradha saw  that the four Vedas,
Came   as four  sons to him

He gave a notice that  no one need ,
To pay  tax for seven years

He told the doors  of treasury  will open,
When poor people  came

Due  to realizing the dream he saw,
The gold like king became very vigorous

Food in moon light

The mother showed  the  moon that diminishes ,
And gave food  to the moon that will  never diminish

The Lord who had created the moon, asked his mother,
To catch the moon and give it to him

The mother Kausalya, holding the pretty moon on her hips,
Called  the  dirty moon

Seeing the prettiness of the baby moon,
The  white moon became shy

It closed its face  with a small cloud cloth,
And hid  itself

When the wise moon baby  cried  that  the sky moon ,
Has gone, the mother  kausalya, to console the baby Rama,
Told a song

Darling Rama,
Darling rama,
Should  you become   sad?
When any eyes  sheds tears,
Only your hands  wipes it
If your own eyes  sheds tears,
By which hand  shall I wipe it

The entire world, is the flower ball,
Lying down  below  your feet,
Would not the sun   and moon,
Stand before you  , if you order

If  they are  babies,
They  will cry for milk

I have seen in this country,
The one who was sleeping on the ocean of milk,
Crying for milk  in my house,

Are you not the emperor ,
Who takes  conch and wheel in your hand,
And am I not one  , who lifts the emperor,
And gives him food?

Your  feet is the one  which,
Measured the three worlds  by three steps,
And mine is the lap  that carried for ten months,
The  God who measured the three  worlds
Where would  be the mother  , who has,
Done more blessed  deeds than me,
Having got pregnant  with truth,
I practiced  strict diet for many months

Darling  Rama,
Darling rama,
Should  your  eyes  become sad.

Kausalya finished the song,
The god  who is song of all  songs,
Got enchanted by  the song and slept

11.Viswamithrar

The Guru  of the clan Vasishta,
To the four  princes
Taught them Vedas , science  of archery,
And   all  the  existing arts,
He made those  crescent moons,
In to  full moons and,
Handed them over to the king

One day   to see the king,
The great sage  Viswamithra came

To Viswamithra, Vedas  were on his tip of the toungue,
And  his anger  on the tip of his nose

He  in his previous day was a king of lands,
And  later became king of sages,
And wore  the dress of sages

He was one  who while  being on the earth,
Tapped the doors of the sky

The king offered him a seat,
Worshipped him and asked,
“What can I do for you.
Command me  , whatever  you tell,
I will do that”
Like  this he gave him his word-fate
He fell  in  the spread out net , willingly

The sage  asked  Dasaradha

“I am performing  a Yaga  in the forest,
Two wild Rakshasas called Mareecha and Subahu,
Are  preventing   that yaga”

They   are spoiling its aim

To protect the Yaga and  to,
Make the  bodies of asuras fall,
You please send your eldest son Rama,
Along with this sage,
It is my responsibility ,
To bring him back”

When that  great man,
Asked  his son,
The king felt , that,
A thunder has descended on his head,
His mind  was churned,
He was greatly  confused,
In total  ,
Everything  crashed .
Dasaratha   who gave word that,
“I will do  whatever  you ask”,
Hanged  that word now

He saluted  Viswamithra and  requested,
“Oh great sage, my son is smaller than small,
Even hair   has not started  growing above his lips,
Desire has not started  flowering in his heart,
Would he able to take his bow in the battle field

Would the trouble by  Rakshasas,
End because  of this

Would a hill fall , if a baby kicks on it?
With one mug of water can we,
Put out  the forest fire

I would come with my army of four types,
I will serve you   and provide,
Protection to your Yaga”

Viswamithra  got very  angry

“Hey , king,
A king can slip away his bow,
But he should never  violate,
The word that  he has given.

If he does that  ,
The country will not salute him,
Afterwards  , if he dies,
The country will not cry  for him.

You live long with your family,
Without  the crime  not keeping your word

Before  problems burst out  ,
Sage Vasishta  told to the king

“Oh Dasaratha, your ancestors  ,
Dhileepa and BHageeradha,
Has written , a not editable ,
Account of the fame of this clan.

Please do not write  its continuation,
With grammatical  mistakes

The grammar  of a king  ,
Is to protect  his people,
And not only that, keep up,
The word  he has given,

Please send Rama and Lakshmana ,
With him who is the sage among sages,
It will add up  greatness  to your country”

When the clan Guru told like this,
Dasaratha agreed top sent his,
Two sons along  with the ,
Sage who was a Brahma rishi
And escaped  from a great curse

12.Thadaka

With Viswamithra going  in front  ,
Carrying  his water pot(Kamandalu)
In his hands, with two lads following   him,

The  sun with  his rays touched   the golden body  ,
Of the blessed people and touched its own eyes

The evening sun , after finishing  his work,
Waved to the forest flowers  ,
Saying to them that he will meet them next day,
And slowly  went down in the west

The trees also folded   their  own shadow,
Which was spread on the earth and kept it with them

In the evening, after  making the sons of dasaratha,
Sit  near the shores  of sarayu, the sage  taught them,
The two manthras called “Bala and athi Bala”,
Which will cause   them good

The forest tied the sari of pitch darkness,
The three  people  laid  themselves down,
On the thin grass

Before the sky  woke up,
They woke up and finished,
Early morning routines in the forest

Then  they walked and Walked,
Crossed river Ganges  on a boat,

They saw a desert, their eyes burnt,
The sand on which they stepped was  also hot

The Sage  Kaushika  told the   story

This is a land  where canals  and ploughed land was there
The land  where Agasthya who destroyed the pride  did  penance

Thadaga was the one   who converted,
The beautiful place  in to a rotten place

Among   the ladies she was not the soft type,
Not middle type   but hard type,
Her mind was stone type,
And character the wild type

Thadaga  roamed in this place and ,
Kileds all people whom her   eyes could see

Human beings was  her lunch, his  blood,
Was the water   she drank

Corpses are her  cotton bed

The fat  of their body,
was the ghee she applied  to her long hair

She used their fallen heads as garland
Their skin as her  Sari,
She troubled all types of beings too much

Oh dear  Ramachandra,
Only through you  , her days should end,
And days of freedom for all other beings,
Should  come  only through you.

By the time sage Kaushika  ,
Ended  his speech

The hills started shaking,
In all places  heat increased,
The black sky became  pale,
The  wild birds started   shouting

Then Thadaga  came, she came,
Carrying a trident  in her hand

She saw men and roared,
She worshipped  all the three of them,
With bad words

The hero rama,
Stood like   the balance,
With a  stable needle,
To the sage  who has .
Done great penance, he asked

“If we  kill a lady,
It is a great sin”

And the great sage consoled him

“Hey Rama,  she is not a lady,
She is a devil which has taken form of a lady
She is the mother  of all  the devils”

She is halakala poison  who has developed  arms and legs
If you kill her  , your fame  ,
Would stand forever

Oh  Chirancheevi Rama, cut off,
Head of Thadaka,
And save  Dharma

That  Anantha Rama,  tied the thread  to his bow,
And kept an arrow there, To his flood of anger,
He built a  dam  by doing that,
She rained stones on him,
And he rained  arrows on her
When again  and again,
It  rained

Telling a Manthra, when the king,
Sent another  arrow

Thadaka  fell,
The dharma got up

13.The Maha Bali

The sage arrived  in Sidhashrama,
During one dawn

That place, was  greatly pretty,
Even the breeze  wondered,
Whether  it was  the world of Devas

Purity opened as flowers there,
And blessed acts ran as  full streams there
All streets were  places, where yaga is performed

The great prince  wondered,
And the sage Kaushika   explained

Mahabali,
The paternal grand son,
Of Prahadha
The valorous one who ,
Kept  the three  worlds like
Like a flower ball in his fist,
Was a very courageous one,

The devas  who got scared
By seeing  the control  of that asura  increasing
Worshipped  Achyutha  , to control  him

To protect them  the God primeval  Narayana,
Took birth as  Vamana,
In the womb of a mother called athithi

That Damodara lifting ,
The  palm umbrella  over his head,
Went  to King Mahabali,
And begged  for  land,
Measuring three  feet by his feet
The king said , “I have  given”.
And sage Shukra told him,
“Do not give”

The  one who has come as Vamana,
Is not  a Brahmin boy,
But Aadhi Kesava

Shukra told the king this,
And said “Do not give this  charity”
And prevented  him

Mahabali  with joy told, Oh Guru
“This one is the husband  of eight Lakshmis
With his hands held down,
And my hand held above his
To give  him ,gives joy to me.
Even if this ends in my death,
I will become immortal”
Saying this he poured water,
To give charity, in the boy’s hand,
By pouring , he respected  his word

Shukra took a form of a bee  and,
Plugged the way through  which,
Water  was coming
And God Vamana  using a dhambha grass,
Pierced  his eye

The God who took a huge form,
Measured the  fourteen worlds,
By his two steps,

And kept his third step,
On Mahabali’s head,
And made him immortal(Chirancheevi)

After  finishing the story,
Kaushika   told,
“The place where  ,
That happened  is this,
And that  is why  ,
Prettiness is ebbing here,
And everything  grows well

In this holy land,
My  five day Yaga  starts

The five day Yaga

In that Sidhasrama  ,
The disciples of the sage,
Collected and arranged,
All things needed  to,
Perform the Yaga, and ,
Completed  preliminary  jobs

The Yaga fire place  had been,
Cleaned by cow dung and rangoli was drawn,
The Samitha which are  to be added,
So that the fire  is not put out,
The big spoon to  pour the ghee,
Cow’s ghee,And rice balls,
To give as Havirbhaga  to the devas

On  the deer skin the  sage  sat,
On a lotus pose,
He took Dharbha grass, purified it ,
And wore  it on his ring finger

After  doing  Pranayama ,
With Rechaka  and pooraka shine,
He stifled them within himself
And started the  holy  Yaga

The place where  the yaga ,
Was taking place ,
Was being protected,
By the king’s  sons ,
All the twenty four hours,
Holding   bows and arrows

The Rakshasa crowd   started  ,
Collecting on the sky,
Mareecha and Subhagu  ,
Who were  mlechas,
Decided to pour blood and flesh,
On the yaga  fire place,
The sages  who saw upwards,
Were  greatly  scared

Kosala Rama  built  a roof,
Over the stage  of yaga  ,
With his arrows  , so that,
Nothing dirty  falls over there

Afterwards tying the bows thread,
Using his hands, he sent arrows,
Using the arrows he cut off ,
The heads  of the evil people

Subahu died and ,
Mareecha    made himself scarce

Without any problem,
The  Yaga was completed,
From the eyes of sage Kaushika,
Tears of joy  came out

14.Akalikai

To see the yaga  conducted,
By king Janaka in Mithila

The  human Narayana,
And his younger  brother, walked
Like  the slippers of sage Kaushika
More than usual they  walked ,
With him more

The morning sun which does not,
Burn the feet, came to the top,
And made   their  heads hot

By the time   the three of them  stepped  ,
On the border of Mithila , it became noon

Seeing   the moon like  face of the pretty Rama,
Thinking that at noon,  a moon is coming towards them,
In the  lily flowers of the border  tank,
All the lily flowers  opened

In the  good day time, in the edge  outside town,
When the four feet Rama was walking  and approaching,
His feet  touched   a small stone,
As soon as it touched , the stone became a lady,
That pretty damsel stood up,
Fell down on their feet  and saluted them

Seeing the stone  turning to a lady,
That Rama with a bow, stood there  and wondered
As Usual  sage  Viswamithra  ,
Explained  the reason

Ahalya was a pretty damsel,
She was born along with nectar

Because  she was  born along with nectar
She   also became great  like nectar

Even the day  time lamp  Lord Sun,
Would  become a ordinary lamp before her
If he stood  before her

To get that treasure  of beauty,
A deva crowd  crowded there,
And fought  , day and night

When the problem became big,
Lord Brahma kept a wager for them

He said Ahalya   would be given,
To the first person who brings,
A two faced cow, from heaven or earth
Devas searched  for a two faced cow  ,
All over heaven and earth

Narada  who sings the name of Narayana,
Brought a  cow  which was fully pregnant,
And sent it to the hut  of sage  Gowthama

While the calf   was being born, its face came first
The time when the cow had two faces,
Narada of great penance  requested,
Saint Gauthama to walk round it,
And the sage did it

And Lord Brama according to his words,
Gave the nectar  pot like  Ahalya,
In the hands  of Sage  Gauthama

Indra to whom the love for Ahalya ,
Had not gone  was greatly disappointed

Due to worry  , he became a form of only bone

Thinking of Enjoying that pretty lady,
He  made a  net of intrigue

One day, in the  early morning,
When the  night has not ended

Indra took the  form of a  cock,
And  crowed before  the gate of,
The  hut  of Gauthama

The sage thought  , day has broken,
Woke up and went  in search ,
Of the  cold  river to take bath

Indra thinking this is the time,
Took the form of the saint
And   tightly hugged  Ahalya,
Till his desire  was over

That lady thought ,that,
It is her husband and,
Deeply went inside ,
That hands that  hugged her

The Sage  of great penance who was divine,
While walking towards  the river,
Saw  that darkness has not still lifted

Realizing  some deceiving  ,
He rushed back  to his home

The king who ruled  the sky,
Took the form of cat  ,
And was about to go

Seeing his cat’s eye , the sage,
With his divine  sight,
Understood who he is

Let that  which you wished and came,
Let it occupy   all over your body  ,
In thousands of numbers”like this ,
The Brahmin   cursed  the king of devas

Due to your doing the evil act,
“When husband is not there ,
She does not have  virtue”

He ordered,
“You would lie as a stone ,
Over which always ants  will crawl”

The innocent one  who did,
Not do any sin, as soon the curse was given,
Became angry

“this  is not mistake of a lady,
The mistake was her not understanding  ,
That  a silly  sinner  took the form of her husband

After  that  I thought  that,
He is my husband,
How is my joining in the love play  ,
A sin?

When a sinner,
Crowed like a cock,
Going immediately  for bath,
Was your mistake

Like me  , were you also not,
Deceived by Indra?

After  you punish  yourself ,
For your mistake ,
Then only you should punish me.

The sage took to his mind,
This Talk  of Ahalya

“ A Dasaratha  Rama would come,
He would give you freedom “he said

After finishing  the story,
Sage Kaushika told

Hey Rama
The Ahalya of those  days  ,
Has  got rid of her sorrow because of you,
She has joined,
With her  golden body again

The  feminine  nature which ered,
Has   lived today
Your feet  that  has ,
Made her live,  is good

At that time Gauthama came there,
He took  her saying ,
She  is fit to be received  back

15.Janaka

Janaka was the one,
Who sat in the mind of people ,
And ruled  the country

Mithila was his capital,
An Art city  , full of ,
Great buildings

The breeze would sweep the streets there

The  water  filled  cloud,
Would spray   water there,
With  bangles  keeping slowly the beat,
With women with Kajal eyes  drawing rangoli,
The moon itself will  lit the lamp  there

Janaka was the king of Videha country,
But he was a wise  citizen

When he was fixing tax for the people,
It was the same tax meant for spiritual books
Why should we tax the poor-he gave  them exemption,
He gave them lamps  so that they will get light

So the people of his country,
Worshipped their ruler  like god

Janaka’s body sat on the peacock throne,
And he made his mind sit,
On the seat  of deer skin,
He used to keep crown on his head,
And book of Vedas  in his mind

Thinking that   worldly  desires,
Are useless, he set them aside,
And  built  the home of knowledge,
To get salvation, in his mind

The book of Valmiki  describes,
Him as one  who knows spirituality,
And domestic  issues

The Janaka who used to  drive a chariot
One day  drove  the plough,
And in the place  the plough pierced,
One child who had  a pretty face  ,
Arose  from there

That child of earth,
Was a female child

Crops grow in land ,
Will life grow there?

Would the baby which prattles and lisps,
Which is normally given by a womb,
Be given by a plough

The king had  question marks ,
Al over his face

He picked and took   that baby treasure,
And assured its safety in his wife’s hands

“Sita  indicates  the furrow of  the plough”
That name will be suitable to the baby,
Like this  the king  thought  in his mind

To the baby  which rose   from the furrow,
On an auspicious day, he gave  the name  Sita

One day , in the women’s quarters

The girl who was playing with  magic in her laugh,
Was playing with the ball

At that time she was a five year old baby moon

The ball rolled , went below  the box,
Containing  Shiva’s bow   and stayed there

That bow cannot be moved by men and ,
Cannot be even moved by elephants
Even cyclone could only touch it,
But  not carry it

That  huge and great bow,
Was moved by the pointer finger
Of the tiny tot Sita
And Janaka saw  her,
Taking the ball  away

Oh my my god, this feeling,
Ran from his head  to tip of his feet,
And rocked his body like the piggy bank

He said  in a letter  to all kings ,
The garland from this girl,
Is only for who moves the bow

16.Entering the city

With  quiver and bow hugging  his shoulders,
In the sweat  produced  by the hot sun,
Washing  his  body

Our lord, and brother of our lord,
Followed by the saint, came

With three  shadows  that sage ,
Walked and kept  his feet in mithila

That was  the  royal street,
Half of it was occupied  by the royal family,
And the half by family  of ministers

On the both   sides of the road,
Trees which have  not become widows,
Would be  standing like sumangalis,
Always wearing   flowers

On both sides of the road  ,
Very  huge mansions were there

If you stand  on top of those mansions,
From there  itself  ,you can wash off ,
The  dirt  of the moon,
If you  see from the top you will see,
The back side  of floating clouds

When the three of them were  walking  ,
In a straight line, seeing ,
The chief of Raghu clan  walking ,
Prominently in the middle

“Is this the moon walking  in the street”
The people  of the city  , who came to see fun,
With  wonder filled in their  eyes asked

That great one born in the clan of sun God,
When in place ,
He was seeing the top direction

In the  top  storey of an emerald mansion,
One  cool breeze wearing silk with zari,
Was seen by him , standing there,
After seeing he stood benumbed

That  cool breeze’s divine  name was sita

Janaki was not a human girl, for me
To  try to describe  the beauty of her body

She wass the divinity which  has come  from Vaikunta to earth,
She was the treasure born without mingling  of two bodies,
Yes her body  is  “no birth”

She   who was born without a mother,
Remained   as mother  to all souls,
One who sees  with grace

The sun god would extend  his beggar’s bowl,
Begging  light from her, Her crystal eyes,
Would daily put alms of light   in that bowl

She had blue eyes   which used to donate,
Cool nature  to the moon, her blue eyes

She was the divine  Goddess ,
Saluted by other Gods

Sita and Rama, swallowed  each other  ,
With their eyes and there  was a heat  in their mind

Just through the path  of Vision,
The barter of their heart had taken place

The heart of Rama,
When seen from floors above ,
Sita’s  heart was walking in that  avenue

That day  the three of them,
Stayed in the guest house of Janaka

After giving  away sleep to sleep,
The lord of Raghu clan,
Was awake  throughout  the night

He was not allowed to close his eye lids,
Because Janaki  was standing there

The story of the same,
In the female  quarter of the king.

Sita was thinking  differently about Rama,
For is she not the mole,
On his left  chest.

17. Marriage of sita

Daksha was Dakshayani’s father,
That Daksha’s son in law  Rudra

Daksha   performed a Yaga , before it,
He did a treachery

He did  not give respect to his  daughter Uma,
And his son in law  Rudra

That is ,  he did not  invite  them,
To attend the Yaga

Raising his bow  , shiva,
Destroyed the yaga and after,
Cooling down from that anger,
He gave that  bow to ancestors of Janaka

He who lifts  the bow  , bends it,
And prepares to send an arrow,
He only   will get sita , Janaka had said,
That bow  is this bow,
And this bow is that bow

The  royal court  of Janaka

Understanding that life,
Is like a rainbow,
The Janaka  , the  bow of knowledge,
Bent before  the audience,
And sat  on his   throne

To the king who took actions, well,
Knowing the wheel of time,
The maid servants who were <
Standing  near biy , fanned him,
With Chowrie  fans

Crowding the great hall, stood,
Elders and wise people,
With sage Viswamithra  ,
And the sons  of Dasaratha ,
Sitting on separate   seats,

On the stage , on a flower bed,
That  bow of Lord Shiva,
Was lying  flatly

The god who was lying on  the serpent,
Was the one who laid   down ,
In the womb of  Kausalya,
Was known to sage  Viswamithra

And because  of that , he ordered Rama,
Lift the bow and tie  the thread.

Bowing to the feet of the saint  , whom,
Books saluted, Rama went to the sage,
Kalyana Rama was one who carried one bow,
And had come in the street, will  he bend this big bow,
Doubted Sita who lifted  the bows  of her eyebrows,
She thought  , she  greatly desired,
The one who was great in prosperity,

Putting every one by surprise,
Our Lord, lifted the bow,
Tied the thread and pulled till his ears,
The Siva’s  bow broke  in to two,
And fell  down on earth

A huge sound emanated, in that,
The sound of the town was dissolved,
All the  directions   shivered,
In great fear many buds  opened

The sky wondered, the earth became happy,
The   wind agreed as well as  ,
Sweet songs   and their lyrics

The  news of breaking of the bow,
Was told by a maid and becoming greatly surprised,
The daughter  of Janaka became   a statue
In the  ocean of joy,
The eyes of Janaka  , floated like boat

Before   the   servants of the king,
Could reach Ayodhya,
The wind of Mithla  ,
Reached earlier

And poured the sweet , sweet news,
Of marriage  in the ears of Dasaratha,
And it was sweet like  honey to him

In the panguni month(march-april) came
Auspicious time , the mithila ,
Dressed in  auspicious fashion
Prepared   for  the marriage

In the mind of people, the  river of joy, ,
Flowed which is impossible  to describe by words
The fire of joy  blew up ,
In each and every hut

The maids  by spraying   colour powders,
Made   the streets   in to rain bows,
With  mango leaf  and turmeric ,
Were tied and this shirt  ,
Was hung before homes.

In joy  they danced with beating of sticks,
They made auspicious noise and gave holiday,
To the four   types   of shame.

Just like all eight lakshmis ,came together,
AS the lord’s  Lakshmi  of love,
As the bundle of eight   types of beauty,
Sita came  before him and stood

Rama slowly  held the  right hand,
Of the moon  of Vaikasi  who came waving  her hands
And of the flower of Thai Month, who came applying kajal in her  eyes,
And went round the fire  clock wise

Pouring water, Janaka , gave away his daughter

Rama took the auspicious
Thread dipped in turmeric,
And tied  it on the neck of the girl

For the union  to shine,
He  took kumkumam,
And marked on her,
Crescent  like  forehead

Lakshmana  married , Urmila,
Who was  another daughter of Janaka,

The  two daughters  ,
Of the brother Of janaka,
Were  married  by other  two brothers

The eldest  member Dasaratha,
The three mothers, saw,
The marriage  of their four sons,
And were  standing with great  joy

The devas blessed,
And  all people  blessed

18.Parasuraman

Parasuraman, the Brahmin,
Who had   warring quality,
He was  a Brahmin  who was like,
The red hot  fire

The  fire  which had killed people
The one who lifted  the axe,
And wandered  with  burning anger

Believing that Weapons   are the cloths
That protect honour of men,
With the hand that held Dhurbha grass,
He held   the bow and caught,
The knowledge ofbow  with his anger

He was  born to  Jamadagni  and one,
Who became death fire to his own mother

Yes for renuka devi  ,
He was the son as  well as Yama

When his father told angrily
“kill your mother who has lost ,
Her virtue mentally ,
Next second, he did what his father told,
And cut off his mother’s head.

He was the first one,
Who obeyed his father’s words  ,
And  first one who  took life of his mother

Once , a  king called Karthaveerya,
Just like slicing the  bunch of red banana,
He cut off the head of Jamadagni

When Jamadagni died,
Parasurama became  God of death,
A Brahmin who never  touched  knife,
Carried an axe

He started hating Kshatriyas,
When he saw their children ,
He wanted to wreak vengeance,
He cut the heads of few,
Who became great

Instead  of doing  THarpana,
To his ancestors in water,
He did it in blood

He removed  the word king  ,
From his dictionary

He heard  the news that ,
Siva’s bow was broken by  son of Dasaratha.
“who is that prince,?
Saying this came Parasurama

When Dasaratha was returning,
After completing marriage of his sons,
Before them , he appeared  , like a ,
Sand storm along with  an axe

“Hey Rama, Your breaking,
The bow of Shiva  is not a great act,
It is useless,
For breaking  a silly bow,
Where  is the need of a king with court?
An ordinary  slave  is sufficient.

See  , this is Vishnu’s bow,
Take  it from me, bent it,
And thread it, if you do,
You are a male, if not ,
What is need of cloths  and decoration to you?
Everything is a waste.

When Parasurama finished his talk,
Dasaratha  got scared seeing his anger,
Dasaratha was scared and he begged,
He folded   his hands and his body was shivering.

“Oh Lord, you  are  truthful one  who grants Dharma,
The  pure one who knows everything,
One whose hand  grants  protection,
My son is not like that, he is a small boy
Are you angry with him,
Let your mind melt”

Seeing  his father’s suffering,
The son of Dasaratha   ,
Took Vishnu’s bow,
Tied the thread, kept an arrow,
And he asked Parasurama

“Please make it clear,
As to which is the target for this arrow

Parasurama   was surprised,
He who came like  the strong torrential rain,
Cooled down like a sprinkling rain,

He folded his hands and said

“You  are Parabrahma, the God,
The protection to ,
All the hands that cali,
To the heads that bent,
Whenever they call,
You are the definition of  godliness
I understood you, I have  removed myself,
I give me to your love  and ,
My penance  to your arrow,
You live long,
Let  your name  live long

Parsunama , went towards,
The  snow mountain,
And king Rama went  ,
Towards Ayodhya
