How should chanting or parayana of a Religious work to be done?

How   should  chanting or parayana  of a  Religious work  to be  done?"

This sloka   tells us   the rules   for the same

" Geethi  , Seegri, Shirakhambi, Thadhaa  Likhitha  pataka,

Anathrthajnothkandascha shadathe  padakaadhama  

He who sings it, he who reads  it with great speed, he who shakes  his head while reading

He who reads   from self written page, He who reads it without  understanding its meaning,

And    he who reads  it very loud are doing  the reading  criminals

Most of the people   who chant most  of the stotras /puranas  ,  sing it using a raga, read it fast,

Read it from   written source and read it without knowing  their meaning,

Are they   Doing it properly-Kindly decide
