അഥ ശ്രീ മാതൃപഞ്ചകം

Adha   Sri  Mathru  Panchakam

മുക്താമണി ത്വം നയനം മമ ഇതി രാജ ഇതി ജീവ ഇതി ചിര സുത ത്വം

ഇത്യുക്തവത്യാഃ തവ വാചി മാതഃ ദദാമി അഹം തണ്ഡുലം ഏവ ശുഷ്കം 1

 

Mukthamani  Thwam nayanam mama ithi  Raja  ithi jeeva ithi chira  sutha thwam

Ithyuktha  vathyaa  thava  vaachi mathaa , dadhami  aham   Thandulam eve  sushkam

 

You  are  a pearl gem, you are  my eyes, my king , my soul  like this  and some times  you are my son

You said ,  like this was  your talk , oh mother, and I give  you rice  that is dried

 

അംബാ ഇതി താത ഇതി ശിവ ഇതി തസ്മിൻ പ്രസൂതികാലേ യദവോച ഉച്ചൈഃ

കൃഷ്ണേതി ഗോവിന്ദ ഹരേ മുകുന്ദ ഇതി ജനന്യൈ അഹോ രചിതോഽയം അഞ്ജലിഃ 2

 

Ambaa  ithi  , thaatha ithi, shiva ithi thasmin   prasootha  kale  Yadavocha  Uchai

Krishnethi  , govinda  hare  Mukunda, ithi  jananyai  Aho  rachithoyam   anjali

 

During delivery time you  used to shout Oh mother, oh Father oh  lord shiva  in loud voice

But   I am  Composing   prayers to mother  as Krishna  , Govinda  , Hare Mukunda

 

ആസ്തം താവദ് ഇയം പ്രസൂതിസമയേ ദുർവാരശൂലവ്യഥാ

നൈരുച്യം തനുശോഷണം മലമയീ ശയ്യാ ച സംവത്സരീ

ഏകസ്യാപി ന ഗർഭഭാര ഭരണ ക്ലേശസ്യ യസ്യ അക്ഷമഃ

ദാതും നിഷ്കൃതിം ഉന്നതോഽപി തനയഃ തസ്യൈ ജനന്യൈ നമഃ 3

 

Aasthaam  thavadh iyam   prasoothi  samaye  durvara   soola  Vyadhaa

Nairuchyam , thanu  soshanam, mala mayi   sayaa   cha  samvathsari

Yekaa  syaapi  na  Garbha bhara  bharana  klesasya yasya  akshama

Dathum  nishkyathim   unnathopi   thanaya , thasyai   jananyo  nama

 

During    your    pregnancy  time  , you had unbearable  suffering  due to pain

No taste , thinning of the body and  for one year  bed   of stools

And   the  weight  of  pregnancy , suffering   and impatience  on other  side

And though  I  gave  me  very great  suffering  , Oh Son  do  salutations to mother

 

ഗുരുകുലമുപസൃത്യ സ്വപ്നകാലേ തു ദൃഷ്ട്വാ

യതിസമുചിതവേശം പ്രാരുദോ മാം ത്വമുച്ചൈഃ

ഗുരുകുലമഥ സർവം പ്രാരുദത് തേ സമക്ഷം

സപദി ചരണയോസ്തേ മാതരസ്തു പ്രണാമഃ 4

 

Gurukula mupasyathya  swapna  kaale  thu  drushtwaa

Yathi  samuchitha  vesam   prarudho  maam  thwam uchai

Gurukulam adha sarvam praru dath  they  samaksham

Sapadhi  charana yosthe matharasthu  pranama

 

When you saw me suffering in Gurukula  in your dream

And when I am putting  on suitable dress(Sanyasa  dress)

You  decided to completely   avoid  all Gurukulas

Oh Mother quickly , I am doing   salutations at your feet

 

ന ദത്തം മാതസ്തേ മരണസമയേ തോയമപിവാ

സ്വധാ വാ നോ ദത്താ മരണദിവസേ ശ്രാദ്ധവിധിനാ

ന ജപ്ത്വാ മാതസ്തേ മരണസമയേ താരകമനുഃ

അകാലേ സമ്പ്രാപ്തേ മയി കുരു ദയാം മാതുരതുലാം 5

 

Na datham  mathasthey  marana   samaye thoyapivaa

Swadhaa vaa  no dathaa  marana  dhivase   sradha  vidhinaa

Na japthwaa   Mathasthe   marana   samaye  tharaka  manu

Akale   samprapthe mayi kuru  dhayaam  Mathurathulaam

 

I would not give   water  to you   at time of death

I will  not to obey Rules of Sradha on day of death

Nor would I chant   the  tharaka Manthra   at  time of your death

And when the bad time approaches  , show kindness to me, incomparable  mother
