The teaching   of the great   Govinda DAmodara  Swami ,
Who  proved to us by his  living

                   Published by
Sri Govinda  Damodhara   SWamikal  Adhishtaanam
       Pazhoor agraharam, Mutharasa nallur post,
                       Trichy   620101

                                                              By
                                                Aangarai  Periyaval

Known in his Poorvashrama as Sri Kalyanarama Sastrigal of Angarai village (near Tiruchi), fellow devotees of Kanchi Paramacharya used to refer to him even before he took to Sanyas in July 1992 as `Angarai Periyava’ only and never by his name. Though he had a big family to support and no other means of livelihood, this savant from Angarai gave up his Central Government job 50 years ago and took to uninterrupted `seven-day’ recital of Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhattadri’s Narayaneeyam in the forenoons followed by a discourse on it in Tamil in the evenings on the suggestion of Kanchi Paramacharya and brought immense relief and solace to families of countless devotees since then. From 1973 to 1991, he did this `Saptaha Parayanam’ preceding the auspicious Janmashtami every year in the immediate presence of Kanchi Paramacharya. It was delightful to see the Sage of Kanchi sitting nearby and listening to the discourses in rapt attention, as if it were for the first time he was hearing the glories of Lord Krishna!
. This book has  been written by him containin g   simple  recommendations to get   rid of problems faced  by the common man called

MANTRA BOOKLET OF SRI GOVINDA DAMODARA SWAMIGAL ANGARAI PERIVA
Lots of people say that it is difficult to find true saints these days and world is filled with only fake ones. This is far from true. There have been people who lived amidst us, till very recently who were the perfect epitome of sainthood. But they gave no publicity for themselves. Media doesn't talk about them.
One such person, was Sri Govinda Damodara Swamigal who was known as Angarai Periva or Triplicane Periyava. He was fortunate to deliver lectures on Sri Ramayanam and Sri Bhagavatam in front of the Kanchi Maha Perivaya for several years. Inspite of his severe financial difficulties, he never charged for his lectures. He shed his mortal coil in 2004 and his Jeeva Samadhi (Adhistanam) is there in Pazhoor near Trichy on way to Karur.
There is a small booklet (in Tamil) which contains very simple mantras to be chanted for various problems like ill Health, Financial Problems, Career Issues etc. Here is an english translation of the great book. While Angarai periyava  has given only the  manthras, I have added   english meaning to all thise manthras.

May God bless all the readers)

1.The  greatness of name  of God

1.Iif we chant  the name od Rama   for one hour(10000times)  daily , all gods   and all planets would become happy. The chant of “Rama”  would help us  to get  every thing done in the world .The chane will give us the benefit of chanting   seven crore  manthras as well as Vedas
By chanting “Sri Rama  , Jaya  Rama, Jaya jaya  Rama “ 21  times one crore Brahma Hathi   dosha   would go away.
2. We have to chant atleast 336 times  “Aparajitha Pingaksha   Namasthe  Rama poojitha”  (Salutations   to undefeated brown eyed one who is worshipped by Rama.
It is better that we do both these  Japas in the morning before we start  our other activities.

II It is great  if we can do daily  parayana   of  one of the five gems  BHagawatha , Ramayana , Narayaneeya, Vishnu Sahasranama   and BHagawad  gita, You can choose that    which you prefer.

Translated by
P.R.Ramachander

“ powerful lAngUlAstra stotra (the tail which is the weapon) invokes Hanuman in his form as vIrAnjaneya. One should worship the deity in a vigraha made of rakta-chandana, using red flowers and other upachAras. Then the sAdhaka should recite the Stava once, thrice, seven or twenty-one times sitting under an ashvattha tree. This process is repeated for forty-eight days while keeping the vow of strict celibacy. By doing thus, all enemies of the sAdhaka are mitigated by the grace of mAruti. Without indriya-nigraha, undertaking such practices can prove to be dangerous.”

ii. Durga Chandra Kala Sthuthi
By Appayya Dikshithar
Translated by P. R. Ramachander

Vedo hareeswara sthuthyam vihathreem vindhyamoodhare,
Hara praneswareem vande, hanthreem vibhutha vidhwishaam., 1

I salute the darling of Lord Shiva,
Who is being praised by the trinity,
Who plays on the Vindhya Mountain,
And who kills asuras who are the enemies of devas.

Abhyarthanena, saraseeruha sambhavasya,
Thyakthovodhitha bhagawathakshipithanaleelaam,
Visweswari vipadapagamane purastha-
Nmatha mamasthu madhu kaidabhayor nihanthri., 2

Due to the request of Him who was born out of a lotus,
She left her play of shutting the eyes of Lord Vishnu,
And killed the asuras called Madhu and Kaidaba,
And I request the mother who is goddess of the universe,
To come before me, and remove all my dangers.

Prang nirjareshu nihathair nija shakthi lesai,
Reki bhavadbhirudhithakhila loka gupthyai,
Sampannachasthra nikhara cha thadha yudhasthai,
Matha mamasthu mahishanthakari purasthath., 3

Rising from the power that she has entrusted with devas,
For saving the entire world is my mother,
Who is armed with several weapons which were given by several devas,
And who is the killer of Mahishasura and I request her to come before me.

Praleya shaila thanaya thanu kanthi sampath,
Kosadhitha kuvalaya schavi charu deha,
Narayani namadha bheepsidha kalpa valli,
Suprrethamavahathu Shumbha Nishumbha hanthri., 4

Let lot of happiness be generated by Narayani,
Who was born out of the excess of luster,
Of the body of the daughter of the mountain,
Who has a body with the luster of the blue lotus,
Who is like the kalpa climber of heaven,
And killer of asuras called Shumbha and Nishumbha.

Viswaswareethi mahishanthakareethi yasya,
Narayanothyapicha namabhirangithani,
Sookthani pankaja bhuvacha surarshibischa,
Drushtani pavaga mukhaischa, shivaam bhaje thaam., 5

I sing praises about the holy consort of Shiva,
Who was praised by Lord Brahma, other devas and sages,
By the sookthas containing colourful names like,
Goddess of universe, she who killed Mahisha and Narayani.

Uthpathi daithya hanana sthavanathmakani,
Samraksha kanyakhila bhootha hithaya yasya,
Sookthanyasesha nigamanthavida padanthi,
Thaam viswa mathara majasram abheeshtaveemi., 6

I praise always the goddess who is the mother of the world,
Who is being praised by learned sages by reciting sookthas,
About her birth with aim of for killing asuras and say that these,
Would save all beings on earth from dangers and cause good.

Yea vaiprachitha punaruthidha shumbha mukhyai,
Durbiksha ghora samayena cha karithasu,
Avishkrutha sthrijagatharthishu roopa bhedha,
Sthairambhika samabhirakshathu maam vipadbhya., 7

Let me be saved from all dangers by that Ambika,
Who appeared in different forms at the time of extreme famine and fear,
Caused by asuras like sons of Viprachitha,
And shumbha reborn in the world and others,
And saved the entire world.

Sooktham yadeeyam aravinda bhavadhi drushta,
Mavarthya devyanupadam Suradha Samadhi,
Dwavapyavapathura mishtamanayalabhyam,
Tham adhi deva tharuneem pranamami deveem., 8

I salute that Holy Devi who is the consort of the first God,
Who was praised again and again,
By the king Suradha and the merchant Samadhi,
By repeating the story of her coming again and again,
In this world in response to the praise of Brahma and others,
And fulfilled their desires which could not be done by others.

Mahishmathi thanubhavam cha rurum cha hanthu,
Mavishkruthairnija rasavadavathara bedhai,
Ashta dasa hatha navahatha koti sankyair,
Rambha sada samabhirakshathu maam vipadbhya., 9

Let me saved from dangers by Amba,
Who by her power was born with eighteen crores,
And nine crores of ladies equal to her,
And killed Mahisha the son of Mahishmathi and asura called Ruru.

Ethath charithramakhilam likhitham hi yasya,
Ssampoojitham sadana eva nivesitham vaa,
Durga cha tharayathi dustharamapyasesham,
Sreya prayachadhi cha sarvamumam bhaje Thaam., 10

I chant the names of the great Parvathi,
Who makes us cross the impossible difficulties,
If we write all her story and worship her,
Or even keep her story at our home.

Yath poojana sthuthi namaskruthir bhavanthi,
Preetha pithamaha ramesa hara sthrayopi,
Thesham api swa gunair dadahanth vapoomshi,
Tham easwarasya tharuneem saranam prapadhye., 11.

I submit myself to the lady of the Lord Shiva,
Whose worship or prayer or salutation,
Pleases lord Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva,
And who gives her good conduct to them.

Kantharamadhya druda lagna thaya avasanna,
Magnascha varidhi jale ripumischa rudha,
Yasya prapadhya charanou vipadastharanthi,
Saa may sada asthu hrudhi sarva jagad savithri., 12

My mind should always be filled with that mother,
Who saves those people who lose their way in forest,
And those drowning in the waters of the sea,
If they salute her lotus feet.

Bhandhe vadhe mahathi mruthyu bhaye prasakthe,
Vithakshaye cha vividhe cha mahopa thape,
Yad pada poojanamiha prathikaramahu,
Saa may samastha janani saranam bhavani., 13

I see protection of that Bhavani, who is mother of all worlds,
Whose worship is believed to get rid of the fear,
Of imprisonment, murder, death, loss of property,
And also fear of the king, thieves, snake and the lion

Bhanasura prahitha pannaga bandha moksha,
Thad bahu darpa dalanad ushaya cha yoga,
Pradhymnina druthamalamyatha yath prasada,
Sa may shivaa sakalamapya shubham kshinothu., 14

I request removal of all bad aspects by that consort of Shiva,
Who blessed the son of Pradhyumna with release,
From the ties of the serpent arrow sent by Banasura,
And destroyed the pride of Bana making his marriage with Usha possible.

Papa pulasthya thanaya punaruthidho ma,
Madhyapi harthumayamagatha ithyudeetham,
Yathsevanena bhaya mindiraya avadhootham,
Tham adhi deva tharunim saranam gathosmi., 15

Let me seek protection of the lady of Lord Parameshwara,
By whose worship Rukmani got rid of the fear,
Of her being sought in marriage by Shishupala,
Whom she thought as the son of sage Pulasthya born again.

Yaddhayanajam sukhamavapyamanantha punyai,
Sakshathamachuytha parigrahamaswa vapu,
Gopangana kila yadarchana punyamaathra,
Sa may sada bhagawathee bhavathu prasanna., 16

Always I should get the grace of that Goddess,
By whose worship for a month, the Gopis,
Were able to embrace Lord Krishna and were happy,
While by constant meditation, he can be seen only by mind’s eye.

Rathrim prapadhya ithi manthra vida prapanna,
Nudbhodhya mruthyavadhi manya phalai pralobhya,
Bhudwaja thadwimukhatham prathanan nayanthi,
Makasa madhi jananim jagatham bhaje thaam., 17

I pray that primeval mother of the world,
Who instead of waking up and offering mundane things,
Offers the eternal salvation, to those who want it,
If they seek her protection by chanting the mantra starting with “Rathrim prapadhye.”
.
Desa kaleshu dushteshu durga chandrakala sthuthi,
Sandhyayor anusandhaya sarva papa nivrataye., 18

You can get freedom from all dangers,
By chanting this prayer to “Durga Chandra kala”.
During dusk and dawn when the place and times are corrupted.

Let Him who is called the giver of good things,
Who though forever looks like a small child,
Powders mountains of great obstacles,
Who though having a huge elephants head,
Is much respected by Lord Shiva,
Who is being searched by Gods like Brahma,
And who is called the lord of Ganas,
Bless me with great prosperity.

Though I do not know words,
Nor the meanings of words,
Nor the form of prose or verse,
The six headed one shines in my heart,
And wonder of wonders,
Words flow from my heart without a stop,
And make a pretty picture using words.

Mayurathi roodam Maha vakhya goodam,

Mahee deva devam, maha veda bhavam,
Maha deva balam, Bhaje loka palam., 3

I sing the praise of that protector of the world,
Who rides on a peacock,
Who is the meaning of great Vedic sayings,
Who has a very pretty mien,
Who resides in the minds of great ones,
Who is the god of all gods,
Who is the tenor of the Vedas,
And who is the great son of Lord Shiva.

Yada sannidhanaam gatha maanaava may,

I sing the praise of that pure son of the great Shakthi,
Who sits in the end of all seas and tells,
“Once you come in front of me,
You have crossed the ocean of painful day- to- day life.”

Lord Subrahmanya has a temple in a place called “Thiruchendur”, which is situated in the beech at the end of India. The waves of the ocean keeping on beating the outer walls of this temple.

Yadabhdhe stharanga layam yanthi thunga,
Sthadivaa pada sannidhou sevathaam may,
Ithivormepankthirnrunaam darsayantham,
Sadaa bhavaye hruthsaroje guham thaam., 5

Like the waves of the sea, beating on the shore,
Becomes weakened and disappears.
The worries of Him who visits his temple,
Disappears in to small dusts,
And so I make the great Lord Subramanya,
Reside in the lotus of my heart always.

“He who climbs to my mountain abode,
Feels that he has climbed the greatest mountain,”
So says the God who lives on the sandal mountain,
And let him offer me perennial protection.
Lord Subramanya has very many temples built on the mountain top

That Guha, the stealer of all sins in the banks of the ocean,
Who resides in caves of sandal mountain,
For the sake of his sage devotees.,
Who shines because of his own light,
Who kills the sorrows of all people,
Is being sought of as the refuge.

I always worship that lord of all devas,
Who was looked after by Karthika maidens,
Who fulfills the wishes of all people,
Who is covered by mountains of flowers,
When he sits on his throne of gems and rubies,
In his residence of Gold,
And looks like light of thousands of suns.

Let my mind which is like a bee,
Burdened with the sorrows of this life,
Hover round thine lotus like feet, Skanda,
Which are adorned by anklets,
Which are of pretty red colour,
Which steal my mind,
And which are full of the nectar of prettiness.

Salutations to thee, Of slayer of Tharaka,
When in passionate embrace of the busts,
Of the daughter of the hunter,
Which are very dense and high,
Your chest gets the red colour of the saffron,
And to your devotees dear to you,
It is the sign of your love to them.

Oh Lord Subramanya,
I meditate on your long arms
Which punished Lord Brahma,
Which playfully carried the entire universe,
Which are longer than the trunk of the elephant,
Which are like the bolt of the God of death to your enemies,
Which killed the collection of Asuras,
Which are capable of taking care of the world,
And which are extremely strong.

If six faces of moon which are full,
And which are without blemish,
Shine together and permanently,
Then Oh, Skanda, They can possibly be told,
To be of some comparison to you.

Oh son of the Lord, I see thine six lotus like faces,
Shining like a group of swans,
With the rising pretty smiles,
With your side long glances,
Flowing like a bevy of bees,
And thine blood red lips,
With ever flowing nectar.

Oh Lord, what will you loose by,
Showering small side glances on me,
By those twelve broad eyes,
Which extend up to your ears,
And which forever rain the nectar of mercy

Oh Lord of the universe,
I salute those six shining crowned heads,
Which are kissed by the Lord Shiva,
With a joyful prayer repeated six times,
That this child who is born out of him,
Should live forever.

Oh Lord who is the son of God who destroyed Tripura.
Who shines with the garlands of rubies and gems,
Who has pretty cheeks, over which the ear studs play,
Who wears yellow silk on his waist.
And who holds the pretty spear,
Be pleased to appear before me.

It is told that Lord Subrahmanya appeared before Adhi Sankara while he was reciting this sloka.

Ihayaahi vathsethi hasthou prasarya,
Hyayathya darachchangare mathurangath,
Samuthpathya thatham srayantham kumaram,

Who rushed from his mother’s lap,
To the embrace of his father,

When he lovingly called to him,
“Come, my darling son.”

When I have lost my intelligence,
When I am not capable of any movement,
When my throat is full of phlegm,

Without any one to help me,
Oh Lord of mercy, please come fast,

Angam hare pulaka bhooshanamasrayanthi,
Bhringanga neva mukulabharanam thamalam,
Angikrithakhila vibhuthirapanga leela,
Mangalyadasthu mama mangala devathaya. 1

To the Hari who wears supreme happiness as Ornament,
The Goddess Lakshmi is attracted,
Like the black bees getting attracted,
To the unopened buds of black Tamala tree,
Let her who is the Goddess of all good things,
Grant me a glance that will bring prosperity.

Mugdha muhurvidhadhadathi vadhane Murare,
Premathrapapranihithani gathagathani,
Mala dhrishotmadhukareeva maheth pale ya,
Sa ne sriyam dhisathu sagarasambhavaya. 2

Again and again return ,those glances,
Filled with hesitation and love,
Of her who is born to the ocean of milk,
To the face of Murari ,
Like the honey bees to the pretty blue lotus,
And let those glances shower me with wealth.

Ameelithaksha madhigamya mudha Mukundam
Anandakandamanimeshamananga thanthram,
Akekara stiththa kaninika pashma nethram,
Bhoothyai bhavenmama bhjangasayananganaya. 3

With half closed eyes stares she on Mukunda ,
Filled with happiness , shyness and the science of love,
On the ecstasy filled face with closed eyes of her Lord,
And let her , who is the wife of Him who sleeps on the snake,
Shower me with wealth.

Bahwanthare madhujitha srithakausthube ya,
Haravaleeva nari neela mayi vibhathi,
Kamapradha bhagavatho api kadaksha mala,
Kalyanamavahathu me kamalalayaya 4

He who has won over Madhu ,
Wears the Kousthuba as ornament,
And also the garland of glances, of blue Indraneela ,
Filled with love to protect and grant wishes to Him,
Of her who lives on the lotus,
And let those also fall on me,
And grant me all that is good..

Kalambudhaalithorasi kaida bhare,
Dharaadhare sphurathi yaa thadinganeva,
Mathu samastha jagatham mahaneeya murthy,
Badrani me dhisathu bhargava nandanaya 5

Like the streak of lightning in black dark cloud,
She is shining on the dark , broad chest,
Of He who killed Kaidaba ,
And let the eyes of the great mother of all universe,
Who is the daughter of Sage Bharghava ,
Fallon me lightly and bring me prosperity.

Praptham padam pradhamatha khalu yat prabhavath,
Mangalyabhaji madhu madhini manamathena,
Mayyapadetha mathara meekshanardham,
Manthalasam cha makaralaya kanyakaya. 6

The God of love could only reach ,
The killer of Madhu ,
Through the power of her kind glances,
Loaded with love and blessing
And let that side glance ,
Which is auspicious and indolent,
Fall on me.

Viswamarendra padhavee bramadhana dhaksham,
Ananda hethu radhikam madhu vishwoapi,
Eshanna sheedhathu mayi kshanameekshanartham,
Indhivarodhara sahodharamidhiraya 7

Capable of making one as king of Devas in this world,
Her side long glance of a moment,
Made Indra regain his kingdom,
And is making Him who killed Madhu supremely happy.
And let her with her blue lotus eyes glance me a little.

Ishta visishtamathayopi yaya dhayardhra,
Dhrishtya thravishta papadam sulabham labhanthe,
Hrishtim prahrushta kamlodhara deepthirishtam,
Pushtim krishishta mama pushkravishtaraya. 8

To her devotees and those who are great,
Grants she a place in heaven which is difficult to attain,
Just by a glance of her compassion filled eyes,
Let her sparkling eyes which are like the fully opened lotus,
Fall on me and grant me all my desires.

Dhadyaddhayanupavanopi dravinambhudaraam,
Asminna kinchina vihanga sisou vishanne,
Dhushkaramagarmmapaneeya chiraya dhooram,
Narayana pranayinee nayanambhuvaha. 9

Please send your mercy which is like wind,
And shower the rain of wealth on this parched land,,
And quench the thirst of this little chataka bird,
And likewise ,drive away afar my load of sins,
Oh, darling of Narayana ,
By the glance from your cloud like dark eyes.

Gheerdhevathethi garuda dwaja sundarithi,
Sakambhareethi sasi shekara vallebhethi,
Srishti sthithi pralaya kelishu samsthitha ya,

Hanumath Pancha Rathnam
(Five gems on Hanuman)
By
Adhi Sankara Bhagawat Pada
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander

Veethakhila vishayecham, Jathanandaasru pulakamathyacham,
Seethapathi dhoothakhyam ,Vathathmajamadhya bhavaye hrudhyam. 1

I think about the son of Vayu in my mind,
Who is devoid of all desires of enjoyment,
Who sheds copious tears of joy,
Whose hair stands erect at His thought,
And who is the great emissary of the Lord of Sita

Tharunaruna Muka kamalam , karuna rasa poora poorithapangam,
Saajeevanamaasase manjula mahimana manjana Bhagyam. 2

All my life I yearn to see that Hanuman,
Who is the good fortune of Anjana,
Whose face is as red as the rising Sun,
Whose glances are full of the mercy,
Who brought back the dead in the battle,
And whose fame is great.

Sambhara vairi saradhigamambudala vipula lochanadhaaram,
Kambu gala niladishtam bimba jwalithoshta mekamalambhe 3

My only refuge is Hanuman,
Who had reddish lips like the Bimba fruit,
Who is the enemy of the arrows of Manmatha,
Who has broad eyes like lotus leaves,
And whose neck is like a conch.

Dhoorikrutha seetharthi , prakati krutha rama vaibhava spohoorthi,
Daritha dasa mukha keerthi, puratho mama bhathu Hanumatho Murthy. 4

Let the form of Hanuman ,
Which drove away the sorrow of Sita,
Which made known the prowess of Rama,
And which destroyed the fame of ten headed Ravana,
Shine before me.

Vanara nikaradhyaksham, dhanava kula kumudha ravikara sadruksham,
Dheena janavana dheeksham pavana paka ambuja madraksham. 5

I Saw Lord Hanuman,
Who is the result of penance of God of wind,
Who is the leader of all monkeys,
Who is similar to the Sun God to water lily,
To the hoards of Rakshasas,
And who is he protector of the suffering humans.

Ethath pavana suthasya stotram,
Ya patathi pancha rathnakhyam,
Chiramiha nikhilan bhogan bhukthwa,
Sri Rama Bhakthiman Bhavathi.

He who reads these five gems,
Which are the poems of praise of,
The son of God of wind,
Would become a devotee of Lord Rama,
And would enjoy his life for a long time.

The Swami   frequently used to mention to his devotees of the great prayer called “Sikshashtakam” by Sri Chaithanya Maha Prabhu. It deals mainly about the greatness of chanting God’s name

hikshashtakam
                                            (Octet of learning)
                                                                       Composed by
                                                      Chaithanya Maha Prabhu
                                                             Translated  by
                                                          P.R.Ramachander
(Lord Chaithanya who was very great scholar right from his youth,
is believed to have not written many prayers in his great life,
of extreme devotion to Lord Krishna. This great octet is the only one
written by him and are believed to contain the essence of all his teaching.)

Cheto darpana marjanam bhava maha davagni nirvapanam,
Shreyah kairava chandrika vitaranam Vidya vadhujivanam,
Anandambuhdhi vardhanam pratipadam purnamrita asvadanam,
Sarvatmasnapanam param vijayate shrikrishnasankirtanam.                                              1

Victory to the singing of the names of Krishna,
Which cleans the dirt from the mirror of the heart,
Which puts out the fire of the pain of day today life,
Which spreads the cooling rays of moon everywhere,
Which is the knowledge accumulated by the holy,
Which increases the sea of happiness for ever,
Which makes us taste , fully the divine nectar,
And which is eagerly desired by all beings.

Namnam akari bahudha nija sarvashakti
Statrarpita niyamitah smarane na kalaha
Etadrishi tava kripa bhagavan mamapi
durdaivam idrisham ihajani nanuragahah                                                                            2

You have several millions of names,
Which can give real strength to all beings,
And you do not have any rules to chant them,
And this shows me that you are merciful towards me,
But I being unfortunate am not attracted by them.

Trinad api sunicena
Taror api sahishnuna
Amanina manadena
Kirtaniyah sada harihi                                                                                                          3

We should constantly sing the names of Hari,
With more humility than a dried grass,
With more tolerance than a tree,
And with a mind without false prestige.

Na dhanam na janam na sundarim
Kavitam va jagad-isha kamaye
Mama janmani janmanishvare
Bhavatad bhaktir ahaituki tvayi.                                                                                        4

I do not wish for wealth or followers,
I do not wish for pretty women,
Oh Lord of the entire universe,
But I want to dedicate this life,
And all life after it is in your service.

Ayi nanda-tanuja kinkaram
Patitam mam vishame bhavambudhau
Kripaya tava pada-pankaja-
Sthita dhulisadrisham vichintaya                                                                                         5

I am your slave, Oh son of Nanda,
But have fallen deep in this sea of birth and death,
So please pick me up from here,
And make me in to a dust of,
Your lotus like feet.

Nayanam galad-ashru-dharaya
Vadanam gadgada-ruddhaya gira
Pulakair nichitam vapuh kada
Tava nama-grahane bhavishyati                                                                                    6

When will tears fall form my eyes,
When will my face choke up,
And when will my hairs stand erect,
When I hear the recitation of your names.

Yugayitam nimeshena
Chakshusha pravrishayitam
Shunyayitam jagat sarvam
Govinda-virahena mey.                                                                                                        7

When I am not with you Govinda,
Every minute appears like an age,
My eyes shed tears like rain,
And the entire world appears empty.

Ashlishya va pada-ratam pinashtu mam
Adarshanan marma-hatam karotu va
Yatha tatha va vidadhatu lampato
Mat-prana-nathas tu sa eva naparaha                                                                                   8

My soul will be with him without condition,
Even if he chides me with dirty words,
Even if he breaks my heart by not being with me,
And do as he likes anything and everything.
