The mother who grants auspicious life-

The  good mother who has   all the greatness

The good mother of the bundle of good gold

The cool mother of Dharma and penance

 

THingalai mudiyinir kondaal-antha

Dhinakaran thannayum thilakamai kondaal

Sankaran udal, idam kondaal-inbam

Santhatham thanthida nonbume kondaal

 

She kept  the  moon on her hair and

The sun   as her Thilaka

She took left part  of body of Shiva

And determined to always give joy

 

Porunayin  Karunayai  Vaazhvaal-pon

Porulodu nilam bogam porunthida vaazhvaal

Karunayai  kaninthitta vaazhvaal-veen

Kasadukal kalainthida kan munne  vaazhvaal

 

She lived as mercy  of Thamraparni, and live

Along  with gold  , wealth , land and enjoyment

She would live to ripen mercy and before us,

She will live to throw  out useless dirt

Chithame thelinthida cheithidum-thalaivi

Vithukkal mulayaanathalaivi-veenil

She is  the head of Crowd of saints-and she is

The leader  who makes  our mind clear

She is the growth point  inside the seedand she is,

The leader  who makes useless land fertile

 

Kudumabathil oliyaana  jothi-veen,

Kuzhappathai  neekkidum kuliraana  jothi

Kadum pakai kadinthidum  jothi-nam

Kavalayaam iruttukku  verethu jothi

 

She is the flame  the lights  the fmily-She is,

The  cool flame which removes  confusion

The flame that  removes bad enemity-For our

Darkness  of Worries  which  else  is the flame

 

Munivarkal idhayathil nindraal-Deiva

Muni ganam thuthithida mun vanthu nindraal

Pani nirai kutralam  nindral-Angu

Payanulla PathayaiPakarnthaval nindral

 

She stood  in the heart of sages, She came before

And stood  so the  crowd of sages prayed to her

She stood as frost  in Kutralalam-and there

She told  about   the useful  path

 

Kalviyum jnanamum nee than-yengal

Kan munne vanthitta  deivamum nee thaan

Nallana yaavume  ne than-Yendrum

Nagai  mugam Kaattidum nangayum Nee than

 

You are  education as well as knowledge-and you are,

The Goddess  who came before our eyes

You  are  all that is good and you are,

The lady who stands always with a smiling face

You arte  the  champak  stream , oh mother

Oh Mother please remove  dirt  of Champa

Oh Mother  who is the ancient tamil , please,

Come and stay near  your devotees always
