(Vel  is the SAkthi weapon   given to  Lord Muruga  by his mother  SAkthi  , to help him kill  Asura   called Sura Padma.Vel can  put an end to your worries,

Arunagiuri  nathar  has written a chapter  consisting of 16 verses  on Vel    and this is called  Vel Vaguppu.Chanting it is supposed to put an end to diseases of body, mind   and the soul,Vallimalai  Schidananda    swamigal   has  compiled   this prayer  using the verses of  Vel Vaguppu.Here all the 16 verses  of Vel Vaguppu    are repeated  randomly four times .After ending the repletion    there are two verses praying Vel    from Kandhar  Alankaram  of Arunagiri nathar and Thirumurugathu padai  of  Nakkerar

    All people  of tamil Nadu have experienced   the great power  of chanting this compilation to cure all type  of diseases.

   In face book , I read the experience  of a lady  who was  admitted in hospital due   to severe heart attack.The doctor was doubtful of her recovery. Then her friend made her   this great compilation.With great faith  that lady read the prayer   and she felt she should chant verse 14. Next day she was  completely cured of all her problems. When I searched   for the prayer , I found it had 66  verses. I wanted it to be made available to  people   who do not know  how to read Tamil. God soon made me realize  that  the 64 verses  were  four times repetition of   the 16 verses  of  Vel Vaguppu  of  Arunagiri nadhar.With   help of God   I have completed  this translation within a day .May  this recitation help you  get cured of all your diseases

Daritha  mudi padaitha  viral, padaitha irai,

Kazharkku nigar  aagum (thiru..)

When the   arrogant  god of death  attacked  Lord Shiva,

Wearing  Erukku leaf , crescent   on his head , and 

The vel is equal to the    arms of the angry god

  5. பனைக்கைமுக படக்கரட மதத்தவள
         கஜக்கடவுள் பதத்(து)இடு(ம்)நி
         களத்துமுளை தெறிக்கவரம் ஆகும் ... ... ... ( ... திரு ... )

Panai  mukha   pada  karada   madathavala,

Gaja  kadavul    padathu   idum nee,

Kalathu  muLai   therikkavaram   AAgum.

With hanging  trunk like   the palm tree  , with  decorative  shield on its face ,

The  water in its two sides  of forehead bursting, having white   colour,

Is  the elephant  Iravatha   and  the  legs  of God  Indra who rides on it,

Were  tied  by Soora Padma  and the vel  knocked away  the nail of the chaion tying it.

In the battle   fiend   when the angry asuras   attacked,

The  cut off heads by the Vel laughed, ironically  ,

Grinding   their teeth and  dashed  with each  other

Ninaikkin   avar kulathai  mudhal    arakkalayum,

If any one thinks of    harming   the devotees   who are  praying,

The Vel would completely   destroy  their clan,

And would  be a  help   for me.

Pazhuthamuthu  thamizh palagai  irukkum oru,

Kavi pulavan isaikku    urugi,

Varai  kukayai  idithu   vazhi kaanum  (thiru…)

The vel getting melted    for the poem  of a tamil poet,

Went and smashed   the gave    where   the great poets,

Were  kept in prison and showed   them the way

Parakka   ara  visaithu adhira  odum  (thiru)

The wings of the   mountains  of directions  cut by indra,

Appeared   to have  regenerated   their wings AGAIN,

And the Vel cuts  those wings so that can never fly

The    sun with its hot rays, the moon with its cool midnight,

And the   vadavamukhagni  which     controls the ocean,

From destroying  the world also controls itself  by the vel

Pasithu   alakai  musithu    azhuthu  murai  paduthal,

Ozhithu  avunar  urathu   udhira,

Ninai dasaikal   pusikka arul    neram   (thiru..)

The vel will stop  the ghosts   getting hungry   and cry,

Because  of that , by feeding them  the  ,

Blood soaked   flesh   of asuras

Adaithu     udhiram  niraithu  vilayaadum

The Vel  would  break the sea with waves, close   all sides,

Drink   all the water   from it , after closing all breaks,

And fill it up   with    the blood   of the asuras

When the   arrogant  god of death  attacked  Lord Shiva,

When the sharp Vel from the hands of Muruga,
Son of him who went in a decorated great chariot,
