(Goddess Gomathi of Sankara Narayana temple  of Sankaran koil , is supposed to have   done a ppenance standing on a needle to marry Lord Sankara.This day is celebrated as aadi thapas in that  temple)

 

ஆடி தபசுநிலே அம்பாளை தரிசிக்க

ஆயிரம் கண் வேணுமே

 

AAdi  thapasinile  Ambalai  Darisikka

Aayiram kan   vendume

 

To see  goddess  mother  when,

She does  penance  in aadi month.

We need one thousand   eyes

 

முத்து மூக்குத்தி மின்ன

மோதிரம் தோடைசய

ரத்தின பதக்கம் மின்ன அம்பாள்

நெற்றி திலகம் மின்ன (ஆடி தபசுநிலே..)

 

 

Muthu mookuthi minna

Mothiram thodu   asaya

Rathina pathakkam minna

Nethri  thilakam minna

 

With pearl  nose  stud  shining

With ring and ear studs  movng

With gem studded  pendant  shining

With Thilaka in goddess  forehead  shining

 

2) பட்டு பாவாடை சார்த்தி அம்பாள்

பணிந்த ஒட்யாணம் போட்டு

பச்சை ரவிக்கை கட்டி அம்பாள்

சிம்ஹாசனதில் இருந்தாள்  (ஆடி தபசுநிலே..)

 

 

Pattu pavadai  chaarthi ambal

Panintha odyaaNam  pottu

Pachai ravikkai  ketti Ambal

Simhasanathil irunthaal

 

With goddess  tying pure  silk Petticoat

Tying  fitting   golden hip belt

Tying   green blouse  , the goddess

Was  sitting   on the throne

 

3) சங்கரனார் கோவிலிலே அம்பாள்

சங்கரனும் சங்கரியும்

சேர்ந்து வரம் அருள

அதை ஜனங்கள் கண்டு மகிழ  (ஆடி தபசுநிலே..)

Chernthu varam   arula

Athai  jnangal kandu  magizha

 

The goddess  in Sankaranar kovil(Temple of  Sankara)

Sankara  as well as Sankari

Granting  boons together

And people seeing it and becoming happy
