1,Kala kala  kokila gana poornam

Jala  kana  seekara sparsa lolam

 

He who is with the  song of nightingale,

Who likes to be touched by the drops of water falling on him

 

2.Dhinakara  kara  jaala sammilitham

Bahu rasa poornam pamba anthareeksham

 

He who is touched  by the hands of Sun God

Who has full of many interests in the enviorns  of Pamba

 

3.Thuru thure  harihaa puthra bakthar

Theru there nadhiyil  yirangi mungi

 

THedevotees of son of Hari Hara rushed  one after another

And with great speed   got down in the river and took dips

 

4.Madhura  manohara Bakthi  gana

Lahariyodu anandam kaankayaayi

 

Mixed  with sweet pretty songs of devotion

They started seeing spirit of joy  in waves

 

5.Udhaya  dhinesannu abhimukhamayi,

Jala tharpanadhikal cheithu kondu

6.viravodu manthra japa sametham

Vadivotha dehathil  poosi basmam

 

Facing   rising   the god of the day

Doing  ablations  in water to ancestors

Along with speed chanting of manthras

They applied  ash  on they  perfect formed body

 

7.Saranangal eenathody othu  paadi

Nadhi than  karakalil   chennu  koodi

 

After  singing  “Saranam”   in a proper way,

You join others  at the banks  of the river

 

8.Kuthukamode evarum  , bakthi poorvam

Madhuranna  sammisra  sadhya  nalki

 

All people   along with  joy ,

Offer  feast of sweet rice mixed with other dishes

 

9.Harihara  thanayande  charitha  gaanam

Guru thara shudhiyodu  othu cholli

 

After chanting   the devotional song,

Of the story  of so of G Hari and Hara with cleanliness

 

10.Pakal yitharathil kazhichu kootti

Dhina nadhan ashthamichoru   sesham

 

After  spending the day time like this,

After lord of the day   fades away

 

11.Pala pala reethiyil dheepa jaala,

Sari yayi  orukki  ozhukki vaanu

 

After properly setting up magic of lamps  ,

In a proper way, float it and live

 

12.Mura haa suthande  dhivya  keerthi

Kadalilum yethikaamenna mattil

 

As if to make reach the  fame  of the son,

Of God who killed  Mura in  to the sea

 

13.Ozhuki chalikkunna   dheepa pankthi

Sura  varanmaarkkum kuthokam yeki

 

The row of lamps floating and moving

Gave joy   the great  one of devas

 

14.Kathiravanoli vesum nearathingal

Shubhamayi  pinneyum snannam cheithu

 

At the time when the sun spreads it light

After  again taking bath

 

15.Yiru mudu kettum yeduthu thaangi

Pathinettam padi nokki Bakthar  neengi

 

Then after  lifting and supporting the  two section bundle

The devotees   started  moving towards the eighteen steps

 

16.Yivannum  athinnu vazhi  varuthaan

Oru  nokku  nokkane  bhootha nadhaa

 

For making the way  possible to him,

Oh Bhootha Nadha , please give a glance on him

 

17.Amrutha kirananev choodidunna

Parama shivan thande  puthranalle

 

Is he not the  son of Lord Shiva,

Who keeps  the moon on his  head

 

18Bhujagesa  thalpathil   vaanidunna

Vana mali   thande  kidaaavumalle

 

Is he also not   the baby   of one who wears forest garland,

And lives   on the bed of the  king of serpents

 

19.Amrutha kadalil  pirannuyarnna

Ramayude  omana  kuttanalle

 

Is he  not the darling son of Lakshmi,

Who was born and rose up in the sea of nectar

 

20.Giri vara  puthriyaam  paarvathi than

Mathi theliyilkkunna thangamalle

 

Is he not the  gold which makes clear the moon,

Worn by Parvathi , the daughter of great mountain

 

21.Ivanulla  moham  akhilam nalkaan

Oru devan nee  mathram Bhoothanadha

 

Oh Bhootha nadha , you are the olly God,

Who can fulfill all the wishes of myself

 

22.Kanakalayam thannil  vaaneedum nin

Thirumeni kaanuvaan kai thozhnnen

 

To see the divine   body of you  ,, who,

Lives in the golden temple  I salute you

 

23Durithangal okkeyum agatheedum  nin

Charithangal paadaan varam  tharenam

 

To sing  the story of yours   who removes  ,

All the sufferings . please give me a boon

 

24.Parithapam agaluvaan , ninde  paadham

Karuthi kai  kooppunnen Bhotha nadha

 

For all my helplessness   to go away, I salute

Your   feet oh BHootha nadha
