Vandhe  thava  Padha yugalam

Vidhyam budhim vithanu Bharathi

Chitham kaaraya  mama  vimalam

 

Salutations oh Goddess , Oh Goddess  Saraswathi

I salute  your  twin feet

Oh Goddess Bharathi, My knowledge  and brain  are  very thin

Please  make  my  mind very  pure

 

Veena vadhini, Shubha  mathi  dhayini

Pusthaka Hasthe , Deva  nuthe

Varna jnanam  sakala  nidhanam

SAnnihitham kuru mama  chithe

 

Oh player of Veena, Oh giver of  graceful brain,

Oh Goddess with books  in her hand, who is praised by devas

Variety  of Wisdom with all comeliness

Please make it present  in my mind

 

Hamsa vahini, brahma  vadhini

Karuna poorna , thava  varadhe

Manjula  Hasina , naatya  Vilasini

Laasyam kuru  mama  rasanagre

 

Oh Goddess  who rides on swan who is  with lord Brahma

Oh  Goddess  you  are full of mercy

You who has a pretty smile, who is an expert in dance

Make my organ for appreciation   very graceful
