Mangaimadam Veera Narasimha Temple is believed to be around 1000 years old. This is located in the small city of Poompuhar in the state of Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity is Narasimhar who is sometimes also referred to as Veeram and hence the name of the temple Veera Narasimhar. This is a unique temple which attracts thousands of devotees all year round. . Mangai Madam was the Headquarters of Thirumangai Mannan, a Chieftain of the small kingdom known as Thiruvaali under the Chola Dynasty. He offered food (Thathiyaaraadhanai) to 1000 people for a year to embrace Vaishanvism and marry Kumudhavalli, at Mangai Madam. He thus embraced Vaishnavism. Mangai Madam is about 10 kms from Sirkali, This temple is also called DAkshina Narasimha sthala
This is one of the very rare temples where Lord Narasimjha is with Bhoo devi and Sree Devi ,Devotees believe that if they worship at this temple, they would get the benefit of worshipping at the 86 Divya kshethrams sung by Thirumangai Aazhwar
Mother Amirthavalli graces from Her own separate shrine. Special pujas are performed to Lord Narasimha on Pradosha days (13th day from new moon or full moon days). Those suffering from depression, debt burdens and family problems pray on this day and on Ashtami and Swati Star days and offer Panakam as Nivedhana to the Lord.
Sudharsana Homa is performed to Chakarathalwar (the deity attributed to the discus of Lord Vishnu) on Amavasya day – new moon day). Those facing adverse planetary effects and curses of the departed ancestors and threats from enemies join this Homa and offer prayers for relief.
There are separate shrines for Sri Aanjaneya, Chakarathalwar and Tirumangai Alwar and Sri Vaishnava Gurus.

You are my mother as well as father,
You are my guru as well as consolation ,
You are my pleasure and my place of stay,
You are my God as well as charity ,
You are my food and constant help,
You aremy sufferings as well as walking stick,
You are my thought and writings,
You are the mountain I climb as well as my progress,
You are my lord as well as pure Gold,
You are the sound as well as g habit,
You are the sound as well as sound of “Om”.
You are my medicine and the medicine mountain,
You are the grain as well as water spring , Oh Narasimha.

ஆசானும் ஆறுதலும் நீயே
இன்பமும் இருப்பிடமும் நீயே
ஈசனும் ஈதலும் நீயே
உணவும் உறுதுணையும் நீயே
ஊறும் ஊன்று கோலும் நீயே
எண்ணமும் எழுத்தும் நீயே
ஏறும் மலையும் ஏற்றமும் நீயே
ஐயனும் ஐம்பொன்னும் நீயே
ஒசையும் ஒழுக்கமும் நீயே
